This is my Silly Safari Birthday card created using Sketch 109.
The Ink & Inspiration Challenge is a sketch challenge this month. I just returned from a week long scrapbook retreat in Scottsdale, Arizona entitled Jurassic Camp. I was feeling light and silly so the Silly Safari stamp set came to mind. I was inspired by the image because the long neck of the giraffe could easily fit on the banner in the sketch.
Supplies
Stamp Set: Silly Safari
Punches: 1 7/8″ & 2 1/4″ circle punches
Ink: Granny Apple Ink Pad & Memento Tuxedo pad
Embellishments: Strawberry Slush & Pretty In Pink Gems
Cardstock: Granny Apple Green, Pecan Pie and Darling Duckling
Hello and welcome! I am Theresa McEntee, creator of Theresa’s Treasures Paper Crafts. Today I have the pleasure of participating in the Blog Hop with Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) organized by Angie McKenzie.
On the second Wednesday of each month, the AWOW team put together a thematic hop to give you some inspiration for your own crafting.
This month’s theme is for the 5th Anniversary of Around the World on Wednesday! We are doing a Team Member Focus. We are honoring Anne Marie Hile, Stampin’ Anne, because she was very supportive in helping Angie get this all started. The goal is to choose one of Anne Marie’s cards that she has posted and C.A.S.E. (Copy And Selectively Edit) the card.
I choose Annie Marie’s cute kitty card to C.A.S.E. I was really impressed by all of the coordinating layers in this card (there are 7 layers on her card!). She also used 2 different embossing folders. She paid lots of attention to every detail. I had fun copying this style with my Turtle-y Awesome Birthday card.
My Project for today
This card was made using the Turtle-y Awesome stamp set and dies, the Turtle Textures Embossing Folder, the Turtle-y Cute Designer Series Paper and the Shades of Green Hexagon Embellishments. These products may all be found in the 2025-2026 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog due to be released in May 2025. This is a turtle-ly terrific sneek peek!
Turtles are special to me because my Mom liked turtles. She had a collection of hundreds of little ceramic turtles she picked up everywhere she traveled. Since she passsed away in 2018, I have become even more fond of turtles.
The AWOW Team
I am so glad you have joined me today in this worldwide hug that started on April 8, 2020 and stretches all the way from Australia to Alaska across twelve different time zones. Each month this group of creative friends prepare a project for a theme. Below is an image of the whole crew and where they are from around the globe. Such a talented and wonderful group of people! I had the pleasure of meeting several during the Stampin’ Up! Onstage convention in Raleigh, NC. You will want to visit everyone to be sure to see all the amazing projects!
We all love sharing joy with you through projects from our individual parts of the world. I hope that you will be filled with lots of inspiration!

Lastly, use the Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Write Marker to color the stem. Add in a line in the center of each leaf.

Measurements
Early Espresso cardstock card base: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 1/2″ & 4 1/2″
Basic White cardstock: 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ (inside) and 3/4″ x 3″ (mechanism)
One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP): 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
Supplies
Trucking Along stamp set & punch
Beside Me stamp (Celebrating You Today sentiment)
Peaceful Moments stamp (Happy Birthday sentiment)
Ink: Memento Black & Early Espresso
Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers: Pecan Pie, Boho Blue, Misty Moonlight, Azure Afternoon, Night of Navy, Blueberry Bushel Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Gray Granite and Color Lifter
Adhere the designer series paper to the Early Espresso card base.
Make a circular finger notch at the midline of the DSP panel on the left. (Use the Circle Dies or the retired 1″ circle punch)
Place the Early Espresso card base in your trimmer at the 1 1/2″ mark, with the 1/2″ score line to the left.
Make a cut from 3/4″ down to 4 3/4″.
Stamping
Use Memento Ink to stamp the pick up truck on a scrap of Basic White cardstock. Stamp the “Farm Fresh” sentiment on the door.
Color with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers as desired.
Stamp the “Happy Birthday” sentiment on the Basic White cardstock for the inside. Punch a hole in the midline near the left edge for the ribbon. Thread the ribbon through the hole. Tip: this ribbon frays easily so I used a lighter to melt the ends.
Stamp “Celebrate You Today” to straddle the slit and so that it will hide behind the pick up truck.
Putting it Together
Take out the 3/4″ x 3″ Basic White cardstock strip. Add a strip of the Adhesive Foam Strips to the bottom as close to the edge as possible. This is the mechanism for moving the pick up.
Slide the strip into the slit, up underneath until the strip of Foam Adhesive Strips is close to the slit.
Flip this over.
Apply Multipurpose Liquid Glue (or Tear & Tape) to 2/3 of the top of the Basic White cardstock strip.
Adhere the Basic White cardstock with the Happy Birthday sentiment to the strip by laying it in position to cover the panel. Be sure the Happy Birthday is on the back to the right.
Fold the Early Espresso cardstock on the score lines. Use a strip of Tear & Tape on the 1/2″ flap. Fold the top panel down over the 1/2″ strip and secure it.
Flip over to the front. Adhere the pick up to the mechanism.
Add the Wink of Stella to the snow drifts.
Add the Iridescent Rhinestones as desired.

The Ink & Inspiration Challenge is both an image and a color challenge.
Here is the photo for the challenge. A fun and relaxing scene.
I was inspired by the photo to think of a great time on the beach during summer break. Fortunately, I had a stamp that conveys a moment of that summertime fun.
The image is part of the Beside Me stamp set. (The “Happy Birthday ” sentiment is from the Inked & Tiled stamp set.)
I had been wanting to try embossing in white emboss powder on a colored background for quite a while. I was also interested in coloring with the Watercolor Pencils using the White pencil first.
A little about how I created this card:
First I embossed the image using the White Emboss Powder & a heat tool. Tip: Remove the heat as soon as the embossing powder melts. Too much heat results in the embossing chipping off the paper.
Next I colored the entire image with the White Watercolor Pencil.
Then I used the the colored Watercolor Pencils.
For the inside, I kept it simple.
This technique was a lot of fun to try. I want to make more!
I hope you enjoyed my interpretation of this challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by. Stop by the rest of the blogs today for more inspiration!
The new Fitting Florets Collection is so versatile! Today I will be putting together a fall birthday card. Check out my previous blog, which is a Blog Hop, to see more cards made with the Fitting Florets Collection.
I just love these beautiful fall colors- Merry Merlot, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze. The pretty butterfly and chrysanthemum paper is the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the 2022 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. Let me show you how to make your own card.
Measurements
Merry Merlot cardstock (cs) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches.
Use the Framed Florets Dies to create the butterfly piece by cutting as shown below from the Rustic Harvest DSP.
2. Cut a frame from Merry Merlot cs. Stamp the sentiment in Merry Merlot Ink onto 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inch Basic White cs. Use the 3rd up from the smallest stitched circle in the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out the sentiment.
3. Cut out the leaves as shown above from the Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow and Cajun Craze cs.
4. Stamp the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Basic White cs as shown below. Adhere this to the inside of the Merry Merlot cs card base.
5. Run the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Crushed Curry cs through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere this piece to the front of the Merry Merlot cs card base.
5. Adhere the butterfly piece to the center of the card front. Then adhere the Merry Merlot cs frame around the butterfly piece. Next adhere the two Mossy Meadow leaf sprigs as shown.
6. Finish up by adhering the remaining leaves. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment. Add some Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls.
The New Horizons Designer Series Paper (DSP) available in the Stampin’ Up! 2022 Mini Catalog is just gorgeous on its own. Combine that with the On the Horizon stamp set and you can create some awesome scenes with the #SimpleStamping Technique. You end up with wonderfully beautiful scenes with very minimal work on your part!
The following cards were part of my last Zoom Card Making Class. Here is an example of a really quick and simple scene using Evening Evergreen and Blackberry Bliss Inks.
Measurements for above card
Night of Navy Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches.
New Horizons DSP: 4 x 5 1/4 inches. Cut a 1/2 x 5 1/4 inch strip for the inside.
Basic White CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches (inside of card)
Instructions
Use the Evening Evergreen Ink to stamp the sentiment “Relax & Enjoy Your Day” in the lower left corner.
Stamp the trio of trees three times across the horizon.
Finish by stamping the birds a few times in Blackberry Bliss Ink.
Voila! That’s it!
If you like to decorate the inside you can do some simple stamping. Add the 1/2 x 5 1/4 inch New Horizons DSP for something extra special. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.
Here are a few more samples of the way I used the #SimpleStamping Technique to easily and quickly create a series of gorgeous cards! And some of the cards have a very masculine feel for your special guy.
I stamped on the New Horizons DSP, then cut it into 3 pieces to give this card a different look.
Thank you so much for visiting today. I hope you have a wonderful day and have some time to do some crafting! Join me for my next Zoom Card Making Class on April 9, 2022. For more information click HERE.

It is so much fun to put scenes like this one together! I encourage you to take some time to let your creativity bubble up and see what your scene might look like!
Measurements for Sneak Peek-Tulip Fields
Sneak Peek-Tulip Fields
Pear Pizzazz Card Stock (CS): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches
Basic White CS: two at 4 x 5 1/4 inches and a 1/2 x 3 inch strip.
Stamping the Tulip Fields
The first step is to use Memento Black Ink and stamp the windmill onto one of the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Basic White CS. Also stamp a windmill onto a sticky note. (Full sticky notes work best and can be found on Amazon HERE.) The windmill will be used as a Mask.
Fussy cut the windmill stamped on the sticky note paper. Set aside. Now draw a light pencil line for the horizon and another 2 lines for the path away from the door of the wind mill.
The Masking Technique. First put a strip of sticky paper above the horizon. This is the first mask. Use Poppy Parade Ink to stamp the triangle of tulips as shown.
Cover the path with sticky note paper. Stamp in Daffodil Delight Ink to one side of the path. Move the sticky paper and then stamp on the other side of the path.
Use the sticky note paper to help you stamp a row of tulips in Mango Melody Ink between the Poppy Parade tulips and the Daffodil Delight tulips. To finish, complete the row of flowers up to the horizon stamping in Rich Razzleberry Ink.
Blending the Sky
Now move the sticky note strip so it is under the horizon. Apply the fussy cut windmill.
Use the Stampin’ Up! Blending Brushes to make a nice sky. Start with the Balmy Blue Ink. Move the Blending Brush in a circular motion on the ink pad. Then using the same circular motion, gradually apply the ink to your card front. I liked that the sky turned out a little blotchy. Next use Pacific Point Ink just around the edges to help the scene “Pop”!
Coloring the Windmill
Remove the sticky strip and the sticky windmill. Save the windmill to use again later. Use the Stampin’ Write Markers in Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede to color the windmill.
More Stamping
Reapply the sticky strip mask to define the path from the door of the windmill. Use Pear Pizzazz Ink and the triangle of tulip stamp to complete the path.
Tip: I used the Stampin’ Write Markers to fill in some small white spaces between the different colors of tulips.
A trick for stamping the tree in two colors. First ink up the tree in Pear Pizzazz ink. Then carefully ink up the trunk using the corner of the Soft Suede ink pad. Stamp the tree on the horizon.
Add some more smaller trees on the horizon.
Finishing Touches
Use Pear Pizzazz Ink to stamp the sentiment “happy birthday” from the Timeless Tulips stamp set onto a 1/2 inch strip of Basic White CS. Cut the right-hand end to look like a banner.
Another coordinating stamp set, Timeless Tulips, is in the 2021-22 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. With the Rich Razzleberry Ink, stamp a few of the small tulips on the second 4 x 5 1/4 inch Basic White CS. Then stamp one in Mango Melody Ink and three in Poppy Parade Ink. Finish the stamping by adding some leaves in Pear Pizzazz Ink.
To create the clouds you will need the White Stampin’ Chalk Marker. First stamp the clouds in Balmy Blue Ink. Let them dry. Then use the Chalk Marker to add dimension to the clouds.
Assembling the Card
Adhere the windmill card piece to the front of the Pear Pizzazz CS card base. Then adhere the larger tulip piece to the inside of the card base. That’s all there is to it!
Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the “happy birthday” sentiment and Voila! You have a beautiful little scene! That was so much fun! I just love how it turned out!
