Butterfly Brilliance for the Inspirations in Ink June Blog Hop-June 2022

Welcome to the monthly Inspirations in Ink Blog Hop. This month the theme is the new Stampin’ Up! 2022-2024 In Colors – Sweet Sorbet, Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky and Parakeet Party! I will be using all of the colors except the Sweet Sorbet.

2022-2024 In Colors

This “FABULOUS” butterfly card is a lot of fun to make! Here’s how.

Measurements

  • Thick Basic White card stock card base: 4 1/4 x 11 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches
  • Parakeet Party card stock: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches
  • Starry Sky card stock: 2 1/4 x 5 inches
  • 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 inch Designer Series Paper in Orchid Oasis: 2 1/8 x 4 7/8 inches
  • Basic White card stock: 7/8 x 2 inches (sentiment)
  • Starry Sky card stock: 1 x 2 1/8 inches (sentiment border)
  • Basic White card stock: 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches for stamping the butterflies

Instructions

  1. Stamp the Butterfly Brilliance stamp using the Stamparatus and the 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch Basic White card stock and Memento Ink.
  2. Stamp the sentiment “You are really FABULOUS” (from the Slim Sayings stamp set) in Starry Sky Ink onto the 7/8 x 2 inch Basic White card stock.
  3. Use the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Ink in Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky and Parakeet Party to color the butterflies (see photo following the instructions).
  4. Use the Brilliant Wings Dies to cut the butterflies out with the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
  5. Curl the butterfly wings using your Bone Folder.
  6. Adhere the Orchid Oasis Designer Series Paper to the 2 1/4 x 5 inch Starry Sky card stock.
  7. Adhere the sentiment to the 1 x 2 1/8 inch Starry Sky card stock.
This is how I colored the butterflies

Embossing with Brilliant Wings Dies

Use the hatched pattern die in the Brilliant Wings Dies to emboss onto the 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inch Parakeet Party card stock. You will need to do this 3 times to create the pattern I made.

Assembling the Card

  1. As shown in the photo above, adhere the embossed Parakeet Party card stock to the front of the Thick Basic White card stock card base.
  2. Adhere the Orchid Oasis Designer Series Paper/Starry Sky card stock card piece to the left side of the Parakeet Party card stock
  3. Position the butterflies and the sentiment on the card front. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them.
  4. Tie a bow with the Starry Sky and Parakeet Party 1/8 inch Metallic Woven Ribbon. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow under the sentiment piece.
  5. Embellish with the 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots as desired.

Voila! You have a “FABULOUS” card to pass on to a friend!

Mountain Air with 2022-24 In Colors for the Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop – June 2022- Scene and Color Inspiration

Hello everyone!  I’m so glad that you’re visiting today and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop for the first time! We are sharing inspiration from this lovely Scene & Color Challenge. There are several of us hopping today. You will find the list to follow along at the end of my blog post.

I am inspired by both the scene and the colors. The Mountain Air stamp set is so fun to create with! The flowers are from the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set. The color for the sky and foreground is achieved with the Blending Brushes using the 2022-2024 In Colors.

Creating the card yourself

The first step to creating this card is to use the Stamparatus to stamp the mountain on a 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 inch Basic White card stock. I used a Sponge Dauber to apply the Tahitian Tide & Starry Sky Ink to the mountain stamp. It is much easier to get the desired effect by using the Stamparatus! The clouds are Stamped Off using Starry Sky Ink.

Next I used the new Masking Paper to cover the mountain and clouds. To begin creating the sky, use a Blending Brush to apply a hint of Sweet Sorbet Ink. Then blend in the Tahitian Tide and Starry Sky Ink. Remove the Masking Paper from the clouds but keep the mountain covered.

The grass is colored with the Parakeet Party Ink. I tried to apply more ink just under the mountain to create a shadow. The leaves for the tulips are stamped in Parakeet Party Ink. The shadows on the leaves are enhanced with the Stampin’ Write Marker in Parakeet Party.

The tulips are stamped in Sweet Sorbet Ink on Sweet Sorbet card stock. Enhance the lines with the Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Write Marker. I applied a small strip of a Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the top of each tulip and then used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the base of each tulip. This resulted in a 3D effect. The 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots to bling up the tulips.

Stamp the sentiment in Starry Sky Ink. Then use the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut it out. Color the edges with a Sponge Dauber and Tahitian Tide Ink. I made the bow using the the Metallic Woven Ribbon in Sweet Sorbet and Parakeet Party.

I hope this card has inspired you and hopefully brightened your day.  There are other amazing inspirations for you to see as you hop along this blog hop. Please see the list below. You are at Theresa’s Treasures written by Theresa McEntee. Be sure not to miss anyone!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
