Thank You Tag card

In the aftermath of Christmas, there are many thank yous to be written. The following is a slightly different type of card. I hope you like it!

This card is made using the new Stampin’ Up! Honey Bee stamp set and the free Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series paper (DSP). These products will be available on January 3, 2020 from the Mini Catalog. See more about getting the free paper at the end of the card instructions.

This stamp set is so cute!

I also used the Healing Hugs stamp set that is available in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.

Measurements: Whisper White cardstock 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch card base, 5 x 3 3/4 inches and 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches; Bermuda Bay cardstock 5 1/4 x 4 inches; Pineapple Punch cardstock 4 x 2 3/4 inches and 1 1/2 x 3 inches; Golden Honey Specialty DSP two of 3 3/4 x 3 inches.

Using Memento ink, stamp the small honey bee onto the 1 1/2 x 3 inch piece of Pineapple Punch cardstock. Set aside.

Using Pineapple Punch ink, stamp the rose from the Healing Hugs stamp set onto the top of the 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock.

I did not like the way the rose stamped on the first try because the detail was not as obvious as I would like. The Healing Hugs stamps are Distinctive. This means they are more like a photo. Tip: Sometimes the image looks better when the ink pad is not so wet. You can use the bone folder to temporarily move the ink to the side. The image has more detail when stamped this way. (I just flipped the paper over to re-stamp the image).

Use the Memento ink to stamp the “Thank You” sentiment just under the Pineapple Punch rose. The sentiment is from the Love What You Do stamp set in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.

You will need to cut the two pieces of the Golden Honey DSP as shown.

You will be using the two pieces on the bottom.

Adhere the 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock to the 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Apply adhesive only to the square edge of the Golden Honey DSP piece and adhere to the 5 x 3 3/4 inch piece of Whisper White so that the triangles overlap in front and make a pocket.

Adhere the stamped rose and sentiment piece to the 4 x 2 3/4 inch piece of Pineapple Punch cardstock.

Slide the tag into the pocket as shown.

Fussy cut the honey bee with your Paper Snips.

Apply a Stampin’ Dimensional to the back of the honey bee.

Adhere the honey bee to the rose.

Make a bow with the 1/4 inch Mini Striped Ribbon in Bermuda Bay. Adhere to the card with a glue dot.

And Viola! you have a really cute thank you note. I hope you enjoy your New Year’s Eve. Stay safe! See you next year!

How to get free stuff. Stampin’ Up! has a promotion called Saleabration from January 3, 2020 until March 31, 2020. Handmade Brightly Gleaming Christmas Ornament

Well it is Christmas Eve! Luckily I have gotten all the shopping done and have started to wrap some gifts. I am very fortunate and Blessed to have all 4 of my children here for Christmas this year!

Today’s post is a little different. It’s an ornament! It is made using Stampin’ Up!’s Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack. It looks difficult, but it really isn’t if you just go step by step. This is a long post but not a difficult one.

Measurements: 12 x 12 inches of 2 designs from the Brightly Gleaming DSP; an 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of Pretty Peacock card stock; a piece of the Brightly Gleaming DSP with 2 ornaments on it to use in the center of the ornament; 2 1/4 x 4 inch of Very Vanilla and 2 x 4 inch of Copper Foil.

In addition to the Gleaming Ornament Punch Pack, you will need a 2 inch circle punch, a 1 3/8 inch scalloped circle punch and a 1 inch circle punch.

Punch 30 of the larger ornaments, 20 of the Pretty Peacock small ornaments and 10 of the Brightly Gleaming DSP small ornament.

Also punch a 2 inch circle from the Very Vanilla and two 1 3/8 inch scalloped circles from the Copper Foil.

Punch two of the ornaments out of the Brightly Gleaming DSP with the 1 inch circle punch. (Boy! My table is getting scratched!)

The next step involves making a scoreline down the center of each of the punched ornaments. Stampin’ Up! has a Simply Scored Scoring Tool to make this very easy to do.

Just line the larger ornament piece up and use the tool to make a score line down the center. This makes it much easier to fold the ornament pieces in half.

Do the same for the smaller ornament pieces.

Fold 3 of the larger ornament pieces in half.

Tip: Use the Silicon Craft Sheet when gluing all the pieces together. Nothing sticks to it!

Apply the Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue to one side of a folded ornament piece. Adhere a second ornament piece to the first one.

Adhere the third ornament piece to the side of the second. You will have a 3-D 3 piece ornament. Repeat until you have ten 3 piece ornaments.

Fold all of the smaller ornament pieces. For this 3 piece ornament, you will adhere the Pretty Peacock ornament piece on either side of the Brightly Gleaming DSP ornament piece.

Here is the completed smaller 3 piece ornament. Repeat until you have ten 3 piece ornaments.

You will have ten of each type of ornament.

Place the 2 inch Very Vanilla card stock circle on the Silicon Craft Sheet. Lay two of the larger ornaments down to get your placement.

Lay down 3 more pieces for placement. You will have a star shape after all 5 pieces are placed. The other 5 pieces are for the other side of the completed ornament.

Lift up one ornament at a time and apply the glue to the upper portion. Adhere each piece to the Very Vanilla circle.

Here is the front and the back after the 5 pieces have been glued to the Very Vanilla 2 inch circle.

Lay the smaller ornament pieces in between the larger ornaments. You may need to pinch the one with the design a little to slide the piece in.

Take one of the small ornaments out at a time and apply the glue to the upper half. Adhere to the ornament.

Here is what the front and the back look like after all of the pieces for one side are glued in place.

Cut a 10 inch piece of the 1/4 inch Copper Trim, fold in half and tape to the back of the ornament as shown. This will be the hanger.

Apply glue to the back of the larger 3 piece ornament, line it up with the top ornament piece, and hold in place for 10 seconds.

Be sure the points line up.

Adhere one at a time until all 5 of the larger 3 piece ornaments are in place.

Apply glue to each of the smaller 3 piece ornaments one at a time and adhere being sure the points line up.

Now you have all the 3 piece ornament pieces in place!

We will use the Stampin’ Dimensionals to create the center of the ornament.

Apply one Stampin’ Dimensional for the first layer. Remove the protective sheet and apply 3 Stampin’ Dimensionals for the second layer.

Remove the protective sheets and apply a third layer with 3 more Stampin’ Dimensionals. Remove the protective sheet and adhere one of the scalloped Copper Foil circles to the center.

Repeat for the other side then gently squeeze together.

Apply a Stampin’ Dimensional to the center of the 1 inch circle ornament.

Adhere the 1 inch ornament to the center of the 1 3/8 inch Copper Foil scalloped circle.

Tie a 12 inch piece of the 1/4 inch Copper Trim around the hanger at the top of the ornament. Flip the ornament over and tie a second 12 inch piece around the top.

Tie the first side into a bow, then flip the ornament and tie the second piece in a bow.

And Viola! you have a very unique handmade ornament for your tree or to gift to someone else! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

I hope you enjoyed seeing how this ornament is put together. Please leave a comment and let me know how I am doing with this blog. I have been blogging for 1 year and would love any feedback you have. Thanks in advance!

Brightly Gleaming Stack of Presents

Hi there! It is only one more week until Christmas and I still haven’t gotten my cards in the mail! I have just now printed out our little family newsletter, so I am one step closer. In case you are also a bit behind schedule, here is a quick and simple card that looks really nice.

This card uses the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper(DSP) and the Christmas Gleaming stamp set from Stampin’ Up!.

Measurements: Very Vanilla 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch card base scored at 4 1/4 inches and a 4 x 2 inch piece; Copper Foil: 3 1/8 x 2 1/8 inches, 2 5/8 x 1 5/8 inches, 2 1/8 x 1 1/8 inches and 2 x 4 inches; Brightly Gleaming DSP 3 x 2 inches, 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches and 2 x 1 inch; and Pretty Peacock 5 1/4 x 4 inches.

Using the Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Up! ink pad, stamp the small ornament onto the 4 x 2 inch piece of Very Vanilla at one end.

Before the ink is dry, use a Stampin’ Up! Blender Pen to blend some of the ink to make a shadow along the right hand side. This helps to add dimension and make the card more interesting.

Use the small ornament punch from the Brightly Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack to punch out the small ornament.

Adhere the Brightly Gleaming DSP to the corresponding Copper Foil to make the presents.

Lay the stack of presents on the 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of Pretty Peacock to get an idea of how to adhere them together. Remove them from the Pretty Peacock piece and adhere them together.

Measure out about 5 1/2 inches of the 1/2 inch Classic Weave Ribbon.

Use Glue Dots to adhere to the stack of presents. Tip: Put the ribbon right on the glue dot and then remove the dot from the roll.

I tried to place the “Merry Christmas” on the ribbon to show after I added the bow on top. I probably could of placed the sentiment a bit more toward the bottom of the stack of presents as the ornament ended up covering the “Christmas” portion.

Use the Bone Folder to get a crisp fold on the Very Vanilla 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch card base at the 4 1/4 inch score line.

Adhere the 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of Pretty Peacock to the front of the card base.

Now adhere the stack of presents to the card front.

Punch out 2 Sprigs from the Copper Foil with the Sprig Punch.

Adhere the Copper Foil Sprigs to the top of the stack of presents.

Apply a Stampin’ Dimensional to the back of the small ornament.

Adhere the ornament to the stack of presents. On hindsight, I adhered the small ornament a bit too low. It would probably look better more near the top of the stack of presents. I thought I would leave room for the bow, but this probably wasn’t necessary and actually covered the sentiment on the ribbon.

Tie a bow with the 1/2 inch Classic Weave Ribbon. Apply a Stampin’ Dimensional to the top of the stack of presents and adhere the bow to the card front. Note: You can watch a video on how to make a bow in the post from November 19, 2019. https://wordpress.com/block-editor/post/theresas-treasures.com/2715

To make the card a little more special, I added a star from the Star Designer Elements.

Use the pick on the Take Your Pick tool to transfer the star elements from the package to the card. I am using a retired pick.

And Viola! there you have your Christmas card! This one doesn’t take too long to make, so you could make several in a short time and get caught up.

Brightly Gleaming

Time is flying by and I am not as ready as I would like for the Holidays. I have family coming, which means the house needs to be cleaned up (except for my craft room!). I do have my Christmas cards made. Now I need to address them and send them out.

The Brightly Gleaming Suite in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog is one of my favorites. I made several of my cards from this suite. The card for today is one of those cards.

One great thing about the Suite is the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). Many of the pages have a shiny copper foil on them. I just love anything that sparkles and shines!

The stamp set for this suite is the Christmas Gleaming set. There are two ornament punches that come as a pack, to punch out both of the ornament sizes. Today we will use the small ornament punch.

The other two Stampin’ Up! stamp sets I used are the Itty Bitty Christmas and the Beautiful Bouquet. Both of these sets are so versatile! The Beautiful Bouquet is the perfect set for a beginner stamper because it has sentiments for Birthday, Anniversary, Thank you, Wedding and Congratulations. The Itty Bitty Christmas set has just about any sentiment you would need for the holidays. Note: If you need a Hanukkah greeting there is one in the Itty Bitty Greetings #151331 found in the Annual Catalog.

To make this card you will need Stampin’ Up! Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy ink, the Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker and the Designer Elements in the Annual Catalog.

Measurements: Very Vanilla 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch card base scored at 4 1/4 inches, 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches, 3 x 1/2 inches and a scrap about 2 inches wide; Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP 4 x 2 3/4 inches; and Pretty Peacock 5 1/4 x 4 inches.

First we will stamp everything that needs stamping. Start with the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set. It is part of a larger sentiment that also says “and a Happy New Year”. Use the brush tip of the Night of Navy Stampin’ Write marker to put ink on the “Merry Christmas” only.

Once the sentiment is all inked up, huff on it and stamp it onto the 3 x 1/2 inch strip of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Next stamp the larger ornament in Pretty Peacock ink onto the lower left side of the 3 1/4 x 2 1/2 inch piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Stamp the smaller ornament in Night of Navy ink onto the 2 inch wide scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Use the smaller ornament punch to punch out the small ornament. To use the punch, lay it upside down on the table and use the heel of your hand to push firmly and quickly once you have it positioned.

Lay the smaller ornament next to the larger ornament and use a pencil to make a small mark above it.

Now use a ruler with the Night of Navy Stampin’ Write marker and draw two lines to be the strings for the ornaments.

Stamp the small bow from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set in Night of Navy ink as shown.

That is all the stamping. Now let’s put it all together!

Fold the Very Vanilla 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch card base on the 4 1/4 inch score line. Use the Bone Folder to get a crisp fold.

Adhere the 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock to the card front. Now adhere the stamped ornament piece to the 4 x 2 3/4 inch piece of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP.

After I have used all the full sized Stampin’ Dimensionals, I cut up the edge to make 1/2 sized Dimensionals. Use Dimensionals on the back of the ornament/DSP piece and the smaller ornament.

Adhere the ornament/DSP piece to the card front leaving space underneath for the sentiment. Adhere the small ornament in its place.

Trim the sentiment.

Cut each end into a banner as shown.

Here is the finished sentiment.

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment and adhere to the card front.

Now for some bling!

Use the Take Your Pick tool to transfer the Designer Element bling from the package to the card front. Hold down gently to slide the pick out and apply firm pressure to stick the Designer Element completely.

Apply as many of the Designer Elements as suits you.

And Viola! you have a Brightly Gleaming Christmas card! I hope you all are having fun making cards for your friends and family. I love doing it! And I hear very nice complements which helps fuel my motivation for continuing to make my own cards.

Stamped on Wood Christmas Ornaments

Hello! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving Holiday. Now it’s time to get ready for Christmas. I have a church Bazaar coming up so I am making a few things to sell.

I made these fun wooden Christmas ornaments. Some of the stamps are retired, but there are many images that are current that will work too. I bought the wooden pieces on Amazon. They came with the twine and a hole drilled in the top.

I just stamped on them, then used a glitter spray paint followed by a clear spray paint to further decorate the ornament.

The current Stampin’ Up! stamp sets I used are: Merry Moose, Christmas Gleaming and Snowman Season.

I’ll be back next week with the usual post. I just needed to get myself ready for the Bazaar this week. Happy Crafting!
