I wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving today! This year is a little different for sure! I hope you are able to visit virtually with your friends and family. My family is getting together on Zoom. We are quite the crowd as I am the oldest of eight!
I made this card for the Cardz4guyz Challenge # 258- Thank You/Thanksgiving. I just love the Cajun Craze card stock from Stampin’ Up!® for my fall projects. The Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper just looks so handsome next to the Cajun Craze card stock.
The wreath is made using the Gold Hoop Embellishment with some of the Forever Gold Laser-cut leaves for the background. The Very Vanilla foiled leaves are cut from the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper. The Gold Twine from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack compliments the copper Acorn Trinkets. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Pleasant Pheasants and is stamped in Cajun Craze ink.
Please have a nice day of Thanks. Remember to be thankful for all the joy you bring to the world. You are a very special and unique person.
Have a most wonderful day and a crafty week! Stop by Cardz4guyz.blogspot.com and see everyone’s cards for Challenge #258-Thank You/Thanksgiving.
It is Thanksgiving in a few days and like many we will not be visiting family as usual. Aside from the Thanksgiving festivities we will still try to have, I think it would be fun to make cards as a family. Stampin’ Up! Snowflake Wishes has many different snowflakes which makes this wonderful Christmas card simple and fun to stamp.
I love the colors of blue that Stampin’ Up! has! Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party are the colors on this wintery card.
Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS): the card base, 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches, and a 3 3/4 x 5 inch panel; Pacific Point CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches.
The first step is to stamp a sentiment in Pacific Point ink on the lower right hand side. I chose this fancy “Merry Christmas” from the Tag Buffet stamp set. Note: when using the Photopolymer Stamps, the see-through stamps, you need a little padding to get a good image. The Stampin’ Pierce Mat works well. If you don’t have one try your Stampin’ Up! Catalog.
I decided on 4 different snowflakes ranging in size from large to small. The larger snowflake is stamped in Coastal Cabana ink slightly above the level of the sentiment.
The snowflake that is the next size smaller is Stamped Off using the Pool Party ink. Stamping Off: this is a technique whereby you first stamp onto a scrap of paper, then on your project. This allows you to stamp the image a shade lighter.
I decided I needed another large snowflake in the Coastal Cabana ink to balance the design by stamping in the lower right-hand corner.
Next I added several slightly smaller snowflakes in the Pool Party ink at full strength.
The smallest snowflake is Stamped Off in Pacific Point ink.
Here is the completed card front.
Now to stamp the inside of the card. Start with the larger snowflake in the Coastal Cabana ink in the lower right-hand corner of the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch Whisper White CS card base.
Stamp Off to add the next size smaller snowflake in Pool Party ink. The next smaller snowflake after that is stamped in Pool Party ink at full strength.
The smallest snowflake is Stamped Off in Pacific Point ink.
This is the completed inside of the Whisper White CS card base.
Fold the card base at the 4 1/4 inch score line and press with the Bone Folder to get a crisp fold. Adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Pacific Point CS to the front of the Whisper White CS card base. Adhere the stamped snowflake card piece to the Pacific Point CS.
You could leave the card as is. I have a passion for Bling! which is basically anything shiny and sparkly. I added the Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of most of the snowflakes. The Take Your Pick Tool makes transferring the Rhinestones to your card very easy.
Viola! You have a dazzling festive Christmas card to send off to someone! My goal was to make 40 Christmas cards by Thanksgiving. I am only halfway there, but I plan to keep at it in the next couple of days. Then I plan to enlist my husband’s help to address them all!

Hello and Happy Friday! This month is flying by! I was looking forward to visiting my family for Thanksgiving, but they have a shelter in place order. Needless to say, none of use is getting together in person. We might try meeting on Zoom. Looking on the bright side- I can stay home and make more Christmas cards!
The card for today’s Fun Fold Friday is called a Gate Fold Card. The band with the poinsettia on it is a Belly Band. This elegant holiday card is super simple to make so you can send one to your friends & family to spread the Holiday Cheer.
Measurements: Very Vanilla Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8 inches; Very Vanilla CS: 5 x 5 inch for stamping, a 2 inch circle and 1 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches; Red Velvet Paper: 2 x 3 inches and 1 1/2 x 9 1/8 inches; and the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper (DSP): 2 x 5 3/8 inches. You will also need 9 1/8 inches of the Vanilla open weave ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack.
Stamping: Starting with the Memento Black ink, stamp one of the complete poinsettias, two berry sprigs and three leaves onto the 5 x 5 inch Very Vanilla CS. Use the Real Red ink to stamp the sentiment “May Magic & Wonder bloom this holiday” onto the 1 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Very Vanilla CS.
I used the Stampin Blends Alcohol Markers to color the images. If you have not tried them yet, I highly recommend them. I have tried other alcohol markers that are more expensive and have not gotten results as good as I have with the Stampin’ Blends. The colors for this card are: Light & Dark Real Red, Dark Cherry Cobbler, Light & Dark Mango Melody, Light & Dark Old Olive and Dark Mossy Meadow. I will show you how I got the look I did, but this is just one way. There are many other ways to color with the Blends. To start off, I colored the leaves completely with the Light Old Olive.
I added some shading with the Dark Old Olive followed by the Dark Mossy Meadow. You could go over the leaf again with the Light Old Olive to blend everything together.
The berry sprigs were colored first with Light Real Red, then Dark Real Red followed by a little Dark Cherry Cobbler. For the poinsettia, I outlined the top layer of petals with the Dark Cherry Cobbler to try and achieve a 3D look. Next I colored the entire poinsettia with the Light Real Red.
I blended the Cherry Cobbler outline into the Light Real Red with the Dark Real Red. To add a finishing touch, I added a little more shadow with the Dark Cherry Cobbler. Note: The best part of coloring with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers is experimenting with them yourself to see what kind of look you get.
Cut all the images out either by Fussy Cutting with your Paper Snips or using the coordinating Poinsettia Dies with the Stamp and Cut Machine. Fold the Very Vanilla card base with the Bone Folder to get crisp folds.
Adhere the Poinsettia Place DSP to the front flaps. Adhere the 2 x 3 inch Red Velvet to the inside. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the sentiment card piece on top of the Red Velvet.
Add the berry sprigs. Tip: For very delicate items I use a tweezers to position the item after first applying a wee bit of glue.
Wrap the 1 1/2 x 9 1/8 inch Red Velvet Paper around the card so that it is snug but not tight. You want it to slide off easily, but not fall off. Also wrap the ribbon around. I did not need to glue the ribbon to the Red Velvet except where I attached the ends of the Belly Band in the front. Tip: I recommend using a strong adhesive to attach the ends of the Belly Band. Examples of a strong adhesive are the Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the Tear & Tape. Both can be found in the 2020-21 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.
Adhere the poinsettia leaves to the Very Vanilla 2 inch circle. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the poinsettia.
Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the Very Vanilla CS Circle to the front of the Belly Band, covering the ends of the Belly Band. Add some Bling! with the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Tip: I use the Take Your Pick Tool to transfer the rhinestones to the card.
Viola! That is all there is to it! This card is a really fun way to share the Holiday Cheer with a loved one!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and are able to start on your Holiday cards & gifts!
Well, Thanksgiving is almost here and it is time to start thinking about Holiday Gifts. These festive Snowflake notecards and cheerful coordinating box will make a great handmade gift! This is a #SimpleStamping project because it is made primarily with Stamps, Ink and Paper. The only other tool you need is a Water Painter.
Although these cards look difficult, they are actually fairly simple. The variety of sentiments in the Snowflake Wishes stamp set makes this a great gift. There are lots of photos to easily guide you through this surprisingly simple project.
The Snowflake Wishes stamp set is rich with snowflake images. I am only going to use 5 of them.
The first step is to make the backgrounds. You will cut one sheet of the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper at 4 3/4 inches. Next cut the 4 3/4 x 5 inch piece at 3 1/4 inches. This will give you 3 different backgrounds for 3 different notecards.
Watercolor Wash Background: Squeeze your Balmy Blue ink pad so some of the ink gets on the inside of the top. Using the Water Painter, apply a slight puddle of water on the 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 inch Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. You want the puddle to be in the center, not touching the edge of the card piece. Note: I am using an old Aquapainter, but the new Water Painters can be found in the 2020-21 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog on page 146, item #151298.
Take up some of the Balmy Blue ink with the Water Painter and apply it to the puddle of water on the Watercolor Paper. Move the ink and water around until you like the shape of the Watercolor Wash. If you desire a more intense color you could put a drop of the Balmy Blue Ink Refill on the top lid of the stamp pad.
Now for a little trick to make a creative effect. Shake some coarse sea salt onto the puddle of water. You will see that the salt crystals will take up some of the water and ink right away. Let this dry completely.
Repeat the above procedure using the 2 1/4 x 5 inch piece of the Watercolor Paper and Pacific Point ink.
The remaining 1 3/4 x 4 3/4 inch Watercolor Paper piece is done in Pool Party ink.
For the next step you will need to open up a package of Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes. These are available in the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog on page 153, item #131527. Note: these notecards also come in Very Vanilla #144236.
While the backgrounds dry, we can stamp the envelopes. This envelope is done in the Balmy Blue ink. The larger snowflake is stamped at full strength. The next snowflake is Stamped Off first.
I added a smaller snowflake at full strength to complete the front of the envelope. Next I stamped several snowflakes on the back flap of the envelope. Note: Be mindful of leaving space for someone to write an address and return address, and place a postage stamp.
The next envelope only uses 2 snowflake stamps and is stamped in Pacific Point ink. Again, stamp on the front and the back flap of the envelope.
The last envelope is stamped in Pool Party ink. I stamped the larger snowflake, one on top of the other, to make it look more full. The remainder are smaller snowflakes stamped on the envelope front and flap.
In order to give the backgrounds a little more time to dry, we will stamp the sentiments. Make 2 of the 3/4 x 4 inch Whisper White cardstock strips with the sentiment “Snowflake wishes for a Merry Christmas.” Make one of the “May your season sparkle” on 1 1/4 x 2 1/2 inch Whisper White cardstock.
Trim both ends of one of the “Snowflake wishes…” strips to make a banner end. Tip: Make a cut in the middle, then from one corner to the middle on each side to have the banner look even every time.
When the backgrounds have dried completely, brush the salt off of the card piece. Each will have a different look. The most noticeable effect is on the Pacific Point color. You can see that the ink is darker around where the salt crystal was. I just love this effect!
We will start with the Balmy Blue background. Stamp the sentiment “Thank you Snow much” in Pacific Point ink onto the lower right-hand corner. Then use the Balmy Blue ink to stamp the larger snowflake, followed by the medium snowflake and finally the smallest snowflake.
Now we will stamp on the Pacific Point ink background. Using Pacific Point ink, stamp the larger snowflake on the left-hand side followed by the group of snowflakes.
For the Pool Party ink background, I stamped one image on top of the other for the larger snowflake in Pool Party ink.
Now stamp the medium sized snowflake and finally the smaller snowflake in Pool Party ink.
Now we will put everything together.
Complete the Balmy Blue card by adhering the stamped card piece to the front of one of the notecards.
Adhere the background done in Pacific Point ink to the front of the notecard. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the “Snowflake Wishes…” sentiment with the banner ends onto the card front.
Adhere the Pool Party background to the front of a notecard. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the “May your season…” sentiment to the card front.
Now that we have all the awesome notecards done, let’s create a nice box for them to go in. The Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes on page 152 of the 2020-21 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog are perfect for these notecards. Lay the box flat with the matte surface on top. Stamp the largest snowflake in Balmy Blue ink.
Follow with the Pool Party ink and a medium snowflake. Finish with a small snowflake in Pacific Point ink.
Assemble the box and add the second “Snowflake wishes….” sentiment to the front.
Match the envelopes to the notecards and place in the Mini Paper Pumpkin Box.
Viola! You have a cheerful set of Holiday cards in a lovely box to give to someone special.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I am having a “Black Friday” ordering special. For any order of $35 or more between November 22 to November 27, 2020- you will receive a package of Rhinestone Basic Jewels for free from me! I really value your business and appreciate your support!

This fun fall card is made with the Triple Stamping Technique which I first learned from my stamping friend Karen Bouchikas about 8 years ago. This card is CASE’d from one of the first cards I ever made. It is super easy and looks super complicated! And- this card is so versatile!
Measurements: Cajun Craze Card Stock (CS): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Very Vanilla CS: two 4 x 5 1/4 inches, 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches and 2 x 3 1/4 inches; Pumpkin Pie CS: 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches; and Mango Melody CS: 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches. You will also need 5 inches of the Vanilla Open Weave Ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack in the 2020-21 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.
Take the 3 different sizes of Very Vanilla CS and layer them. You can hold them in place with a wee bit of repositional adhesive tape. We are using the Photopolymer stamps so you will need the Stampin’ Pierce mat or a catalog.
Stamp the large solid flower in the Floral Essence Stamp Set in Cajun Craze ink onto the righthand side in the middle. Next stamp the small solid flower in the upper left and lower left corners. Do not worry about the blank spots on the flowers near the edges of the layers. This will not be visible later.
Using the Mango Melody ink and the large bunch of leaves in the Forever Greenery Stamp Set, Stamp Off first, then stamp onto the card pieces. There will be a ribbon at the level of the large solid flower, so you may stamp the leaves so the ends of the stems will be covered by the ribbon. Stamp Off the smaller bunch of leaves using the Daffodil Delight ink before stamping on your card pieces. Fill in the open spaces with the smaller leaves.
Separate the three card pieces. Leave the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Very Vanilla CS piece. Stamp another large solid flower in the Cajun Craze ink in the middle.
Carefully cut the large solid flower out of the center. Just cut in the center so you can use this piece for the final card. Fussy cut the flower.
Stamp the centers of the flowers in Daffodil Delight ink.
Stamp Off the large bunch of leaves using the Mango Melody ink and stamp the righthand border of the second 4 x 5 1/4 inch Very Vanilla CS. Next Stamp Off the smaller bunch of leaves with the Daffodil Delight ink and stamp the borders of the large bunch of leaves. This is the inside of the card.
Adhere the inside card piece to the inside of the Cajun Craze CS card base. Use your Bone Folder to make a crisp fold at the 4 1/4 inch score line on the Cajun Craze CS card base.
Adhere the smaller card pieces to the corresponding colored card stock.
Adhere the Very Vanilla Open Weave Ribbon to the back of the right side of the smaller layer, the Mango Melody card piece, with a Mini Glue Dot.
Adhere the Mango Melody CS card piece with the ribbon on it, to the Pumpkin Pie CS layer, and finally to the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Very Vanilla CS card piece. Bring the ribbon over the the left hand side.
Wrap the ribbon around to the back of the left hand side and adhere it with a Mini Glue Dot.
Now adhere all the layers to the front of the Cajun Craze CS card base.
We are going to add a little dimension by using the Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the flower we cut out. Adhere this flower over the stamped flower.
Viola! Now you have made a super beautiful fall card! You can add any sentiment you want- Happy Thanksgiving, Thanks, Happy Birthday, I Love You, or any other sentiment you would like to send!
I am so grateful you have stopped by today. Please let me know what you think about this card. I appreciate your comments.
Have a most wonderful Friday! Try to get some crafting done this weekend. You will be surprised how uplifting crafting can be! Going back to work on Monday may not seem as bad.
Hello fellow stampers and crafters! Today I have a darling little note card made with the versatile Floral Essence Stampin’ Up! stamp set using the Spotlight Technique. These note cards are 4 x 4 inches when complete and could be used at place settings for the Thanksgiving meal (assuming that is possible this year!). Note: This card is CASE’d from Shannon West’s presentation during our recent Onstage Convention.
