Stampin’ Up!® Springtime Joy- Stamping with Coloring & Masking

Hello and Happy Spring! I am fortunate to have some flowers starting to bloom in my garden outside! Springtime Joy is a stamp set with super cute animals to help welcome spring and Easter. Today’s card is a step up from Simple Stamping, and is simple nonetheless.

Measurements

Measurements: Basic White Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Gorgeous Grape CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches; and Basic White CS: 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches.

Stamping

Start off stamping the sentiment “Welcome Spring” in Memento Black ink onto the 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 inch Basic White CS. Add the little butterfly.

The next step is to stamp the cute little bunny onto both the 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 inch Basic White CS and a piece of full sticky sheet.

Carefully fussy cut the bunny on the full sticky note. This will be used as a mask.

Sponging Around the Mask

Using a Stamping Sponge that has been cut into a small wedge, dab the sponge first on the Balmy Blue ink. Then rub in small circles on a scrap sheet of paper. Next Sponge some onto the card around the little bunny. Do the same with the Granny Apple Green ink. (For more information on Sponging check out this blog post: Sponging.)

Tip: I find it to be very easy to remove the mask by using the Take Your Pick tool.

Finishing the Card

The sponging helps to accentuate the bunny. Again using the Memento Black ink, stamp some of the flowers and tulips around the bunny.

Use whatever you like to color the card. I really enjoy using the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. The colors I used were: Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Magenta Madness, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue.

First adhere the stamped Basic White CS card piece to the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Gorgeous Grape CS. Use the Bone Folder to make a crisp fold at the 4 1/4 inch score line on the Basic White CS card base. Adhere the Gorgeous Grape CS card piece to the front of the Basic White CS card base.

Viola! You have a super cute bunny to help welcome in the Spring!

Thanks for coming by today. I am still recovering from receiving a COVID-19 vaccination. Although I am grateful for the vaccine, I have been feeling very tired since receiving it. Each day I feel better. I am going to resume the Wacky Wednesday Technique blog next week. I am planning on having something for Fun Fold Friday. See you then!

Have a most wonderful week!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Card Using Hearts

One of the most fun things about stamping is finding an alternative way to use a stamp. For example the card today is a Happy St. Patrick’s Day Card made with the Stampin’ Up! Valentine’s stamp sets, Heart to Heart and Heartfelt.

I just love how the hearts can be used to make the shamrocks.

Measurements

Measurements: Basic White Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; 6 x 6 inch Designer Series Paper (DSP)-Regals: Garden Green 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches; Basic White CS: 5 x 3 3/4 inches and 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches; Garden Green CS: 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.

Stamping

Start out by using Garden Green ink to stamp the sentiment “Happy St. Patrick’s Day”. The sentiment comes from the A Wish For Everything stamp set. This is an excellent stamp set for the beginner stamper as it has most of the holidays along with sentiments for the inside of a card. You can purchase the A Wish For Everything HERE.

To start creating the shamrocks, use the large outline heart in the Heartfelt stamp set. Reminder: Use a pad under the Photopolymer stamps to help get the best image. You can use the Stampin’ Pierce Mat like I have, or use the Stampin’ Up! catalog.

Next use the small solid heart in the Heart to Heart stamp set and create the smaller shamrocks.

To finish up I used the stem in the In Bloom stamp set. If you do not have this set, you could also just use the Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker to make the stems.

Putting the Card Together

That is it for the stamping. Now adhere the stamped card piece to the Garden Green 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. Then adhere the card piece to the front panel of the Basic White CS card base. Remember to use your Bone Folder on the Basic White CS card base to get a crisp fold.

Punching out the Sentiment

Using the Double Oval Punch, punch a scalloped oval from the 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch Garden Green CS. Then use the solid oval to punch out the “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” sentiment. Adhere the Basic White oval to the Garden Green scalloped oval.

Use the Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the card front. This is a great card, but you could add some Bling!

Bling!

I thought gold bling! was the most appropriate for this card. The Gold Glitter Enamel Dots fit the bill. I use the Take Your Pick tool to move the dots from the acetate sheet to the card front. The Take Your Pick tool makes this very easy.

Viola! You have made a great St. Patrick’s card complete with Bling!

Supplies

Easy Fun Fold Note Card with Butterfly Bouquet

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday! There is so much you can do with the Butterfly Bouquet! I apologize to those of you who are tiring of this set, however, I have a wonderful Fun Fold for you today!

This card features the Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the Butterfly Bouquet called Butterfly Bijou. What is a Bijou? I didn’t know so I looked it up. A Bijou is something that is delicate, elegant or highly prized (defined by Merriam-Webster). I think Bijou definitely describes this Suite. Well enough of that-let’s make the card!

Measurements

Measurements: Butterfly Bijou DSP: small butterfly/pink splatter design: 2 3/4 x 3 1/4 inches, 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches, and one 6 x 6 inch piece of the large butterfly design; Calypso Coral Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 7 inches scored at 2 3/4 inches; Calypso Coral CS: 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches scored at 1/2 inches; and Basic White CS: 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches.

Dies

The Brilliant Wings Dies have a die that fits around all of the butterflies on the large butterfly design of the Butterfly Bijou DSP. If you do not have a die cutting machine, the butterflies can be fussy cut.

I will be using the Magenta Madness and the Calypso Coral colored butterflies.

Putting the card together

The first step is to adhere the 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch Calypso Coral CS to the 7 x 5 1/2 inch Calypso Coral CS so that it will fold toward the inside of the card base.

Next adhere the 4 x 5 1/2 inch Butterfly Bijou DSP with the pink splatter design side up to the inside of the 5 1/2 x 7 inch CS card base.

Continue by adhering the 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 inch Butterfly Bijou DSP to the card front. Then adhere the 2 3/4 x 3 1/4 inch Butterfly Bijou DSP, with the pink splatter side up, onto the front of the flap.

The card should end up looking like this.

To complete the inside of the card adhere the 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch Basic White CS to the inside of the card, minding the positioning so that the Basic White CS is hidden when the card is closed.

Adding the Butterflies

To add some dimension to the butterflies, you can use your Bone Folder to gently curl the wings.

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the butterflies to the flap on the card front. I also added some Bling! by placing a few of the Elegant Faceted Gems around wherever I wished.

Viola! You have made a wonderful Fun Fold note card!

Thanks so much for coming by today! I hope you enjoyed this easy Fun Fold and will give it a try.

Stampin’ Up!® Butterfly Brilliance and Masking Technique

Welcome to Wacky Wednesday Techniques! Today I am using the Stampin’ Up!® Butterfly Brilliance and Masking Technique. I will be using the Stamparatus and if you do not know what one is, I will show you how the Stamparatus makes stamping a large image very easy.

This gorgeous card is really easy to create. In addition to the Masking Technique, I also used the Tear and Tape with the Gilded Leafing Embellishment which is such an easy way to add a lot of sparkle!

Measurements:

Measurements: Mango Melody Card Stock (CS) card base: 4 1/4 x 11 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches; Basic White CS: 6 x 6 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches (not pictured).

Stamparatus

The Stamparatus is a stamp positioner tool which helps you stamp perfect crisp, dark images every time. The Stamparatus comes with 2 magnets which I have wrapped in Duct Tape to make it easier to pick them up off of the plate. The dark foam mat is to use with the Photopolymer Stamps. The Stamparatus also comes with 2 hinged plates. You may purchase yours HERE.

Stamping with the Stamparatus and the Masking Technique

To begin making this card, adhere some removable sticky note tape in a diagonal across the 6 x 6 inch Basic White CS. Place the Basic White CS on the Stamparatus as shown. Leave a little border around the paper.

Lay the Butterfly Brilliance stamp onto the paper where you want it. Close the hinged plate and press firmly so that the stamp will stick to it.

Open up the hinged plate. Apply the Memento Black ink using a stamp case underneath to help stabilize the opened plate. Close and press firmly all around. This stamp is lighter that I would like, so all I need to do is re-ink the stamp and close the hinge again. It keeps the stamp in perfect alignment.

When the butterflies are stamped dark enough, remove the 6 x 6 Basic White CS and peel the sticky note tape off.

I had started to color in the butterflies but realized I should stamp the sentiment first, in case it did not turn out right. The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Black ink.

Now use the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers to color the butterflies. These markers are great because they blend together and leave a nicely colored image without any lines where layers overlap. The colors I used are : So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Dark Pumpkin Pie.

Gilded Leafing Embellishment Technique

Apply a strip of Tear & Tape to the sides of the sentiment. This is where the Gilded Leafing will stick.

I store my Gilded Leafing in a box about 1/2 the size of a shoe box. I just lay the card on the Gilded Leafing and press down a little.

When you pull it out of the box there will be a lot of Gilded Leafing on the card piece. Just brush it away and then use a Stampin’ Sponge to get all of the small pieces of the Leafing away.

Adhere the stamped and Gilded Butterfly Brilliance card piece to the front of the Mango Melody CS card base. Adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Basic White CS to the inside of the card base.

Viola! You have a beautiful birthday card to send off to some one special. And you learned 2 Techniques!

Stampin’ Up!® Oh Snap! Apology with #Simplestamping

Welcome! Today’s card features Stampin’ Up!® Oh Snap! Apology with #Simplestamping! I am also demonstrating how you can use different colored inks to make a colorful card with lined images that are usually colored in.

Who could resist accepting your apology with this fun and colorful card? It is always awkward when you need to apologize to someone. This card makes it a little easier. And the card is very easy to make!

Measurements

Measurements: Granny Apple Green Card Stock (CS) card base: 4 1/4 x 11 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches; two Basic White CS; 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Stamping the front of the card

Begin by stamping the crocodile in Granny Apple Green ink onto one of the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Basic White CS card pieces. Be sure to use the Stampin’ Pierce Mat or a catalog when using the Photopolymer stamps. I used an F sized Block for this crocodile which is the largest square acrylic block that Stampin’ Up! sells.

The next step is to stamp the little fish in Pumpkin Pie ink. Then stamp the bird in Melon Mambo ink.

The sentiments “Sorry” and “I Snapped A You.” are stamped in Memento ink.

In order to complete the front of the card, stamp the waves in Pacific Point ink.

Stamping the Inside of the Card

Now for the inside of the card. Start by stamping the lily pad in Garden Green ink in the lower right-hand corner. Use the Granny Apple Green ink to stamp the little frog. Add some waves in the Pacific Point ink.

Use your Bone Folder to get a crisp fold at the 5 1/2 inch score line on the Granny Apple Green CS card base. Open the card base up and adhere the stamped frog card piece to the inside of the card base.

Finish up by adhering the crocodile card piece to the front of the Granny Apple Green CS card base.

Viola! Now you are ready to give an apology in a meaningful, slightly humorous way!

Kylie’s Stampin’ Up!® International Blog Highlights Program Blog Hop- March 2021-Thank You with Dragonfly Garden

Welcome to Theresa’s Treasures today. I am Theresa and I am a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator in Arizona, USA. Today I am taking part in Kylie Bertucci’s Monthly International Blog Highlights Gallery. The theme is- Thank You. On this gallery, you can see thank you cards made by folks from all over the world! I hope you enjoy my card and take the time to see everyone else’s creations.

I used a Watercolor Technique that I recently made up to create a serene background for the dragonfly. The dragonfly is from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set, There is a Dragonflies Punch also! The sentiment, which I love, is from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. All of these products and more can be viewed in the 2021 January to June Stampin’ Up!® Catalog HERE and purchased HERE.

Watercolor Technique

To create this watercolor you will need some of the Fluid 100 Watercolor paper on page 153 in the Annual Catalog and the Water Painters set on page 147. Apply a fair amount of water on the Watercolor paper where you would like the horizon to be.

Draw a line through the water with light pressure using a Stampin’ Write Marker. Here I used the Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker. Using the Water Painter, move some of the ink upward as a tree line.

Be sure the area is still quite wet and run the Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Marker in a straight line under the Shaded Spruce line. Again use the Water Painter to spread the color downward to form a lake. I did use a little of the Pacific Point color above the Shaded Spruce color to create a sky.

Apply more water and draw another line of Shaded Spruce. Spread with the Water Painter to make the trees a little darker. Repeat using the Pacific Point and spread downward to darken the lake.

I used the smaller Water Painter to color the dragonfly’s wings with Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral ink before using the Dragonflies Punch to punch it out.

I made a thinner version of the watercolor for the inside of the card.

Viola! That is all there is to it!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Please click on the button below to go to the gallery and vote for my card. I would really appreciate your support.

I hope you all have a very creative day!

Stampin’ Up!® Woodland Wonder Fun Fold for Friday

Welcome to the Stampin’ Up!® Woodland Wonder Fun Fold for Friday! This is an adorable and fun card to wish Happy Birthday to someone young at heart. The Stampin’ Up!® Woodland Wonder stamp set is found in the 2021 January to June Mini Catalog on page 53. You can buy one for yourself right HERE.

This cute Fun Fold opens up to reveal a tall tree with a family of animals ready to say “Hip-Hip-Hoo-Ray!”

Measurements

Measurements: One piece of 4 1/4 x 11 inch Basic White Card Stock (CS) with score lines at 2, 3 3/4, 7 1/4 and 9 inches.

Folding the Fun Fold

Fold the Basic White CS card base as shown.

Stamping

The first step is to stamp the bottom of the tree in Memento ink so that the top of the stamp abuts the 9 inch score line and is in the center.

Fold the card closed and use a pencil to mark where the borders of the tree trunk are. This is to help guide you where to stamp the top of the tree so that when the Fun Fold is closed the tree trunks are aligned.

The next step is to fold the card part way and make a pencil mark at the border of the tree trunk. Use these pencil marks when you stamp the large image of the tree trunk with all the animals to help keep the trunk aligned. There will be some space between the top of the trunk with the animals and the tree top trunk.

Masking

Masking. To be able to fill in the tree trunk you will need a sticky note to cover the grass on the tree trunk bottom. Use the Memento ink upside down to ink up the trunk. Then remove the sticky note before you stamp.

More Stamping

You will need to stamp the masked bottom trunk twice to fill in the space.

Use your Stampin’ Write Marker in Basic Black to fill in the spaces between the stamped trunks. Mine is a tad bit off, but little “errors” like that is what makes this card a homemade card!

Continue to use the Memento ink to stamp the pole as if the squirrel were holding it. Add the “HIP-HIP-HOO-RAY!” banner.

To finish up, stamp the sentiments “happy birthday” and “from all of us” onto the bottom of the card.

Let the Memento ink dry well. Use your bone folder to make the folds nice a crisp. This is what the front should look like when the card is closed.

Coloring

I used the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers to color the tree and animals. The colors I used were: Granny Apply Green, Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Mango Melody, Gray Granite, Flirty Flamingo, Balmy Blue, Real Red, Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight.

This is what it looks like on the front after coloring.

In order to keep the card closed until that special someone opens it, I used a 16-inch piece of the Bumblebee In Color Ribbon. The ribbon is adhered to the back of the card with a glue dot.

Viola! Now you have an adorable Fun Fold to wish someone a very Happy Birthday!

Confession: I had to stamp this card several times before getting it right. Several times I dropped the stamp on the card and once I forgot to remove the stick-not mask before stamping. Point is-don’t give up, keep trying and you will have a really cool card!

Thank you very much for viewing my blog today!
