Retiring Stamp Sets- Painted Harvest

The new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog for 2020-2021 will be mailed out on May 8, 2020. If you would like a copy, shoot me an email at theresastreasures.az@gmail.com. There are many products that will be retiring and some are now at a great discount. Check the “Last Chance Products” tab in the left hand column at my online store here.

This card started off as a Color Challenge I wanted to be in. A Color Challenge is when someone gives you one or more colors to use in a card. You can create whatever you want. The inspiration also came from wanting to use the retiring stamp sets once more.

Today I mainly used the Painted Harvest stamp set. However, the sentiment is from Piece of Cake and the bee is from Honey Bee.

Measurements: Whisper White Card stock (CS): 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches, 4 1/4 x 3 inches, 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches and a 3 x 1/2 inch strip: Lovely Lipstick CS: 5 7/8 x 4 1/8 inches; and Blushing Bride CS: 4 1/4 x 3 inches.

The Painted Harvest stamp is Two Step Stamp. This means that there are two slightly different stamps that are intended to be stamped on top of one another. These are the two stamps for the sunflower. I am starting with the less detailed stamp on the left.

Stamp three of the sunflowers in a cascade down the 4 1/4 x 3 inch Whisper White CS using Blushing Bride ink.

Switch to the other more detailed stamp of the sunflower. Use Lovely Lipstick ink to stamp right on top of the Blushing Bride flowers.

Using the same detailed sunflower, stamp in Lovely Lipstick along the outside borders of the Lovely Lipstick CS. I call this Tone on Tone because you use the same color for the paper and the ink.

Use Soft Suede ink to stamp the center of the sunflowers.

The leaf is also a Two Step Stamp. I have tried stamping with the more detailed leaf or with the less detailed leaf first. For this stamp I think it is easier to line up the stamps when I start with the more detailed leaf and finish with the less detailed leaf stamp.

Stamp the sentiment “Happy Birthday” and the bee on the corresponding Whisper White CS in Memento ink.

Color the stripes on the bee with the Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Write Marker. Fussy cut the bee (or if you have the Detailed Bee Dies you can cut the bee out with the die).

Trim the sentiment “Happy Birthday” and then we will make a banner end. Make a small center cut.

Now make a cut from one corner to the top of the center cut. Repeat on the other side.

Make another banner on the other end of the sentiment strip.

Use the Bone Folder to get a nice crisp fold at the 4 1/4 inch score line on the 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch Whisper White CS. This is the card base. Adhere the Lovely Lipstick background card piece to the front of the card base.

Adhere the 4 1/4 x 3 inch Blushing Bride CS at a slant on top of the Lovely Lipstick background. Now adhere the sunflower card piece parallel to the Lovely Lipstick card piece.

Oops! I got some Soft Suede ink in the wrong place. This happens when the edge of the clear block gets inked. No worries. You can always fix this with either a sentiment over the top or Bling. I put the “Happy Birthday” right over the mistake and no one is the wiser!

Add the cute little bee and Viola! You have a wonderful Birthday card ready to go!

Thanks so much for coming by today! I wish you a great day and hope you are well and safe!

Butterfly Birthday

Butterflies are so beautiful! Fortunately, Stampin’ Up! has many butterfly stamps.!

This card was made for a color challenge which included Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and Pear Pizzazz.

The stamped images all came from this stamp set Butterfly Wishes. There are many additional butterflies in the set which could be stamped on different cards. I love the sentiment “It was a perfect day because of you” but today I wanted to do a Birthday card.

Measurements: Cardstock: Whisper White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch card base with a score at 4 1/4 inches; Whisper White: 3 7/8 x 1 7/8 inches and 2 1/4 x 3/4 inches; Balmy Blue: 5 x 3 7/8 inches, 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches and 4 x 1 inch; and Highland Heather: 5 1/2 x 4 inches and 4 x 2 inches.

Additional supplies: Butterfly Duet Punch. Ink: Memento and Pear Pizzazz; Stampin’ Blend: Light Highland Heather; Clear Blocks A, B, C, and E; 8 inches of the 5/8 inch Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon; Bone Folder; Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals and Glue Dots.

Use Memento ink to stamp the sentiment “Birthday Wishes” onto the 2 1/4 x 3/4 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Use Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp the floral branch onto the 3 7/8 x 1 7/8 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp the 2 different sizes of butterflies in Memento ink onto the 4 x 1 inch piece of Balmy Blue cardstock. You will need 2 of the smaller butterfly. Tip: Space the 2 small butterflies apart by a couple of inches so the punch won’t ruin one. Stamp the larger butterfly in Memento ink onto the 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch piece of the Balmy Blue cardstock.

This is the Butterfly Duet punch.

Punch out the larger butterfly and the 2 smaller butterflies. Tip: I find it easiest to place the punch upside down on the table, position the image, and then use the heel of my hand to punch firmly and quickly. After you position the image, close the punch just enough to hold it in place before you actually punch it.

Use the light Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Marker to color the flowers on the floral branch.

I decided that the sentiment was a little too long so I cut off 1/4 inch from each end.

Use the Bone Folder to make the fold on the card base nice and neat.

Adhere the 5 x 3 7/8 inch Balmy blue to the 5 1/4 x 4 inch Highland Heather. Adhere the floral branch piece to the 4 x 2 inch Highland Heather.

Adhere the layers to the card base. All are adhered flat.

Adhere Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the backs of the butterflies and the “Birthday Wishes” sentiment. I cut my Dimensionals in half to fit the smaller butterflies.

Adhere the sentiment to the card front. And then adhere the butterflies.

Tie a bow with the Polka Dot Tulle. Note: This stuff sticks to itself. Stay calm and just keep adjusting the bow until you like it. If one is to far gone from messing with it, throw it away and try again. Just speaking from experience! If you need help with the bow tying watch the video on my blog at https://wordpress.com/block-editor/post/theresas-treasures.com/657

And there you have a very nice Butterfly Birthday card!

I also made one with different colors. I used Crumb Cake and Terracota Tile.with the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend.

Thank you to all of you who ordered products and attended my classes. The Summer Promotion to win the Free as A Bird Stamp set, Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, 3/8 inch Scalloped Lace Trim, Flower Faceted Gems, Memento ink and clear block went to Amanda T.

Birthday Bouquet

I have a great card for you today using a beautiful bouquet of Spring flowers!

I am still limited by the recent joint replacement in my middle finger which is still healing. I cannot drive which is the worst thing. I can craft though! i just have to keep it simple.

Measurements: Whisper White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch card base; Highland Heather 5 x 3 inches, and Whisper White 4 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches.

You will need several colors of ink for all the flowers. I used Stampin’ Up! Powder Pink, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, So Saffron, Granny Apple Green and Memento ink.

If you were looking to buy just one stamp set to get started stamping, Stampin’ Up!’s Beautiful Bouquet would be it. Not only is there a multitude of flower arrangements you can create, but there are many useful sentiments for birthday, congratulations, wedding, anniversary and thank you – all the great reasons to send a special card. It is just so wonderful to receive a handmade card from someone!

Let’s get started! The first step in creating this beautiful bouquet is to stamp the stems in Granny Apple Green ink slightly off center to the left.

I used the Highland Heather ink with one of the larger flowers. Remember that using an odd number of an image looks more appealing than an even number.

The lilies are done in So Saffron ink.

I added five of the smaller flowers in Powder Pink ink.

I used Gorgeous Grape ink for the center of the larger flowers.

The center of the lily is done in Memento ink.

I used the single leaf and Granny Apple Green ink to round out the bouquet.

Use the “Happy Birthday” sentiment in Highland Heather to stamp in the lower right hand corner of the Whisper White card base.

Adhere the bouquet onto the piece of Highland Heather, then onto the card base.

Well, Sale-a-bration is over, but a great variety of products is available both in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and the 2018-19 Annual Catalog. These catalogs are good until June 3, 2019. Select the shop button above to look through the catalogs.

Hope you enjoyed this Springtime card! See you again soon!

Where are Mother Goose and her goslings going?

They are going to a Birthday party! Isn’t this such a sweet card? Stampin’ Up!’s Fable Friends stamp set really lends itself to cuteness! This card is surprisingly easy to make!

Measurements: Whisper White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches scored and folded at 4 1/4 inches, Balmy Blue 5 1/4 x 4 inches, Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper 5 1/4 x 2 inches, Whisper White 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches.

Additional products used for this card are: Stampin’ Up! Granny Apple Green ink pad, Memento ink pad, Stampin’ Write Markers in Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Petal Pink, Pacific Point, Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set.

First stamp the “Happiest Birthday to You” sentiment in the upper left hand corner of the 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 inch piece of Whisper White. Tip: Use the Stampin’ Pierce Mat under your cardstock since this stamp is a Photopolymer stamp.

Now stamp the little goslings in the lower left hand corner. Tip: Since this is a red rubber stamp you get the best image when stamping on a firm surface.

Stamp Mother Goose in the lower right had corner. How adorable!

Using the Granny Apple Green ink, stamp the little tufts of grass around randomly.

The most difficult part of this card is the coloring. Use a light touch so the ink does not bleed out of the lines. Starting with the Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Write marker, color Mother Goose’s rain hat. Tip: Use the brush tip to get an even color for most areas. I only use the fine tip for very thin images like Mother Goose’s legs.

Use the Pacific Point Stampin’ Write marker to color Mother Gooses’s cape. Tip:To make the pocket visible, I colored around it using 2 layers of marker, then went over the pocket with only one layer of marker.

Use the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write marker to color the little goslings’ hat. Now use the Balmy Blue Stampin’ Write marker to color a couple of the goslings’ shirts.

Next use the Petal Pink Stampin’ Write marker for the strings on the gosling’s hat and the remaining shirt. Use the Mango Melody Stampin’ Write marker to color Mother Goose’s beak and all of the feet.

Here is the completely colored card piece.

Adhere the Gingham Gala Designer Series paper to the middle of the Balmy Blue card piece. Then adhere the piece to the Whisper White card front.

Apply the Stampin Dimensionals to the back of the Mother Goose card piece.

Peel off the back of the Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere the Mother Goose card piece to the card front.

Happy Birthday Cake

Hello fellow stampers! Today I have a wonderful Birthday cake card for you!

This is the second in a series of 3 cake cards and is made with Stampin’ Up!’s Piece of Cake stamp set. Let’s get started!

Measurements: Whisper White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches folded at 4 1/4 inches, Flirty Flamingo 5 1/4 x 4 inches, Whisper White 3 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches and 3 x 1/2 inches. You will also need one of the Pearlized Doilies.

I will be using the Flirty Flamingo and Smoky Slate ink pads and the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers in Dark Flirty Flamingo, Light Mango Melody and Light Smoky Slate. I will also use Memento ink (not pictured).

The first stamp is the little bunch of swirled lollipops. Who remembers getting those at the State Fair as a kid? I do! Stamp the lollipops in different directions all around the Flirty Flamingo card piece. Keep in mind that a small heart will need to fit in between the lollipops, so do not stamp them too close together. Tip: Remember to use the Stampin’ Pierce Mat for the Photopolymer stamps

Now use the small heart to fill in between the lollipops. This is the background for your card, your own Designer Series Paper!

Adhere this to the Whisper White card base.

The cake platter is stamped in Smoky Slate. Stamp towards the bottom so there is enough room for cake and candles.

Stamp the cake in Flirty Flamingo.

And now the candles in Flirty Flamingo.

I used the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker to color the icing.

Now color the candles in Dark Flirty Flamingo.

For the flames I used the Light Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker.

The shadow on the platter is done in the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker.

Using Memento ink, stamp the “Happy Birthday” sentiment onto the Whisper White strip on the right hand side.

Cut a banner end first by cutting the middle, then from each corner to the middle.

Apply the Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the cake.

Place the doily slightly to the right and adhere to the Flirty Flamingo card piece. Adhere the cake piece on top of the doily.

Apply the Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the “Happy Birthday” sentiment strip.

Adhere the “Happy Birthday” sentiment strip to the right side of the card front.

And now you have a wonderful Happy Birthday card! That went by so quickly, don’t you think? Remember how special it feels for someone to remember your birthday? Pass that feeling on to someone today and give them this card!
