Cardz4Guyz Challenge # 261 Black/Gold

During the holidays I have had a hard time keeping up with all the fun Challenges. This weeks Cardz4Guyz Challenge # 261 Black/Gold is a great one for a very special birthday card. My youngest turns 17 years old on December 31, 2020. (I seriously do not feel that old.) I wanted to make him a very special card because he is a very special guy.

I had to use some of my stash for this card. Wait until you see the inside!

It’s a pop-up! I think my son is going to love this!

Stampin’ Up!® Products used to make this card are as follows: Balloon Adventures stamp set, Balloon Pop-Up Thinlets™ Dies, Balloon Bouquet Punch, Sprinkles Punch, Painted Labels Dies, World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP), Golden Honey Specialty DSP, Gold Foil Sheets, Black Card Stock (CS), Whisper White CS, Memento ink, Versamark ink, Gold Emboss Powder and Gold Thread.

Thanks for stopping by to see my Cardz4Guyz Challenge #261 Black/Gold. See more black/gold or black/silver cards at the Cardz4Guyz blog HERE.

Have a most wonderful New Year’s Eve!

Freezin’ Fun One of my Stampin’ Up!® Favorites

Hello fellow crafters! The Freezin’ Fun stamp set is one of my personal favorites from the 2020 August-December Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. It is still available! But not for long. It will be one of the stamp sets retiring on January 4, 2021.

Late December and January is definitely Freezin’! We usually go up to the mountains and spend a couple of days skiing. Probably won’t go this year. It is a lot of fun though!

Supplies

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Misty Moonlight CS: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches; Magenta Madness CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches; Whisper White CS: 3 3/4 x 5 inches, 2 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches and 2 1/2 x 6 inches.

Stamping

Use the Memento Black ink to stamp one each of the Freezin’ Fun characters and several trees.

Sponging the Snowdrifts

First cut a wavy line through the 2 1/2 x 6 inch Whisper White CS. This will be the mask for the snowdrifts.

Secure the mask with Sticky Note tape or Painters Tape. Dab the Sponge Dauber onto the Misty Moonlight ink pad. Using a circular motion, try the sponging out on the scrap paper, then continuing to use a small circular motion apply the ink along the edge of the mask. Apply more ink to the Sponge Dauber as needed.

Move the mask to the lower left hand quadrant and Sponge Daub another snowdrift, then move it to the right for one last snowdrift.

Subsequently apply the other side of the snowdrift mask to the bottom of the inside of the Whisper White CS card base. Resume the Sponge Daubing as before.

I felt that the background was too white and uninteresting so I used the Sponge Dauber to color the sky so it would look like a cloudy winter sky.

Coloring the Images

Now for the fun! I love using these Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers because they allow you to color with shadows so easily. The colors used today are: the Light and Dark of Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight, Just Jade and Cinnamon Cider which are the In Colors for 2020-2022. Also used are the Light and Dark Smoky Slate, Light Basic Black and Dark Pumpkin Pie.

Color the images as desired. Some tips: For the smaller spaces I use the Dark color first where I want the shadow, then blend in the Light color. Try to color lightly so that the ink doesn’t bleed over the lines. If this happens, there is a Color Lifter that can be used to correct it.

Now to fussy cut everything. If you have a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine there are Freezin’ Friends dies you can use. If not, sit down to a little tv and fussy cut. I find it to be very meditative.

Creating the Scene

Initially, place the two little trees on the top of the snowdrifts and adhere them to the card front. Secondly, put in place the images you would like to use and adhere them with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next put in place the images you want to use on the inside of the card and adhere them. Lastly, add the happy penguin with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Adding the Sentiment

Stamp the sentiments “‘Tis the season for freezin'” and “Wheeeee!!” in the Misty Moonlight ink onto the card front. Then stamp the sentiment “Sending warmth your way” on the inside of the card.

Putting it Together

First adhere the stamped card front to the Magenta Madness CS, then to the Misty Moonlight CS. Next adhere the two to the front of the Whisper White CS card base.

Viola! You have the cutest card for the cold winter weather!

Thanks for coming by today! I hope you can stay warm and spend some quality time crafting!

Stampin’ Up!® Merry Moose Christmas Cards

Wow! Christmas is almost here! It seems I have been making Christmas cards forever! Today’s Stampin’ Up!® Merry Moose Christmas Cards are very special because they are for my customers. I love my customers! They are the life of my business. With this in mind, the Stampin’ Up!® Statement of the Heart is really true for me “To love what we do and share what we love as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments, in this we make a difference.”

The Merry Moose stamp set and Moose Punch are just so fun! And the “Merry Christmoose” sentiment adds a little humor. The background for the card is from the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper (DSP). So, let’s get started!

Supplies

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 /12 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Pretty Peacock CS: 5 1/8 x 3 7/8 inches and 7/8 x 3 7/8 inches; Feels Like Frost DSP: 3 3/4 x 5 inches; Whisper White CS: 3/4 x 3 7/8 inches; Soft Suede CS: 3 x 4 inches and Cherry Cobbler CS: 1 1/2 x 2 inches. Alternatively, on some cards I used Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Highland Heather and Shaded Spruce in place of the Pretty Peacock.

Stamping

Starting with the Soft Suede ink, stamp the inside of the Whisper White CS card base with the little racoon and then with the sentiment “enjoy the stillness of the season”. Similarly, stamp the moose onto the Soft Suede CS on one side. Note: Remember to use a catalog, magazine, or the Stampin’ Pierce Mat to get a great image with the Photopolymer Stamps.

Switching to the Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp the sentiment “Merry Chrismoose” onto the right hand side of the 3/4 x 3 7/8 inch Whisper White CS. Continuing with the Cherry Cobbler ink stamp the scarf onto the Cherry Cobbler CS.

Putting it all Together

Fussy cut the scarf and then use the Moose Punch to punch out the moose. Next use adhesive to adhere the scarf to the moose, and the sentiment strip to the 7/8 x 3 7/8 inch Pretty Peacock CS.

Apply adhesive to the Feels Like Frost DSP and then adhere it to the Pretty Peacock CS. Next adhere the card piece to the front of the Whisper White CS card base. To top it off add the sentiment strip.

Complete the card by using Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the moose to the card front on the sentiment strip.

Viola! You have made a fun Christmas card! I am trying to send one to every customer. If I perchance miss you, please leave me a comment or PM me on my Facebook page HERE.

Over the first 15 days of December I made 15 Christmas cards for you to see on my Home page HERE.

Thank you all for joining me today for this jolly Christmas card. I hope you all have a very safe and joyous Holiday Season!

I really love butterflies so I appreciate this set.

The Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper (DSP) is yours for free during Sale-a-bration, January 5- February 28, 2021 when you place a $50 order!

Supplies:

Measurements: Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 3 inches; Whisper White CS: 2 1/2 x 4 inches and 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches; Garden Green CS: 3 x 3 1/2 inches; Rich Razzleberry CS: 3 x 3 1/2 inches; Rococo Rose CS: 2 7/8 x 2 7/8 inches, 3 x 3 inches and 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 inches.

Measurements: Oh So Ombre DSP: 3 x 3 inches, 2 7/8 x 4 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Stamping:

Stamp the bunch of butterflies on the 3 x 4 inch pieces of Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry CS in Blackberry Bliss ink.

Continuing with the Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp the frame onto the 2 1/2 x 4 inch Whisper White CS and then stamp “Thank you for your kindness” inside the frame as shown. The sentiment (and the one below) are from the new Dragon Fly Garden stamp set.

“You are an inspiration” is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink onto the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Whisper White CS.

Using the Garden Green ink, stamp the bunch of butterflies onto the 3 x 3 1/2 inch Garden Green CS.

Fussy Cut the above pieces from what you have stamped. Save the remaining pieces for another card. Note: If you have the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine you can cut the pieces with the Fluttering Dies.

Putting It Together:

First, adhere the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Whisper White CS with the sentiment stamped on it to the 3 x 3 inch Rococo Rose CS. Now adhere the 3 x 3 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 inch Rococo Rose CS.

Next adhere the 2 7/8 x 4 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the front panel of the Rich Razzleberry CS card base. Then adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the inside panel.

Lay the inside sentiment piece where you want it and then adhere the piece in place on the inside panel.

Stampin’ Dimensionals are used to adhere the Oh So Ombre DSP/Rococo Rose CS card piece so that it covers the sentiment piece on the inside panel. Note: Only put the Dimensionals on the back of the left hand side and leave the right hand side free. Adhere the stamped frame with the sentiment as shown, again placing the adhesive on the left hand side and avoiding adhesive on the right hand side.

You can use your Bone Folder to curl the all of the butterflies wings slightly. Adhere the Rococo Rose CS butterfly to the inside panel.

Lay out the leaves and butterflies to your liking, then adhere them to the card front.

Finishing Up:

Now for the Bling! The Elegant Faceted Gems have a light pink gem that goes well with the Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry butterflies.

I added a few gems to the butterflies on the front and two to the butterfly on the inside of the card.

Viola! You have a gorgeous card to thank some one and make their day!

I really appreciate you stopping by and visiting today. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

The Floating & Fluttering stamp set and Oh So Ombre paper are not available until January 5, 2021 so I will have to add in the product codes after that.

Snowflake Wishes Fun Fold Christmas Card Stampin’ Up!®

Wow! I can’t believe how fast the time is going! 11 days until Christmas! I still need to get my cards out. I have them all made, the letter is written, I just need to put the letter and card in an envelope and address them. That is my goal for today.

This is an easy Fun Fold using the Snowflake Wishes stamp set and Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper. You can put this card together quickly and have a festive winter card ready to send out in no time.

This lovely wintery card is great for showcasing your Designer Series Paper. I know I have quite a stash. Pick out 3 different designs of the Snowflake Splendor DSP.

Measurements: Pool Party Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 11 inches with score lines at 1 3/8 inch, 4 1/8 inches and 6 7/8 inches; Pool Party CS belly band: 1 1/4 x 10 inches scored at 3 1/2 inches and 7 5/8 inches; Snowflake Splendor DSP: two at 1 1/8 x 5 1/4 inches, 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches and 3 7/8 x 5 1/4 inches; and Whisper White CS: 2 1/2 x 4 inches, 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches and 3/4 x 4 inches. You will also need 10 inches of the 1/4 inch Snowflake Splendor Ribbon to adhere to the belly band, and you will need a bow.

With Bermuda Bay ink stamp the sentiment “May Your Season Sparkle” onto the 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS. Use Pool Party ink to stamp the group of small snowflakes on the corners. Note: Remember to use the Stampin’ Pierce Mat or a catalog to stamp on with the Photopolymer Stamps to be sure to get the best images.

Use the Bermuda Bay ink to stamp the sentiment “Snowflake Wishes For a Merry Christmas” onto the 3/4 x 4 inch strip of Whisper White CS. Use Pool Party ink to stamp a snowflake onto the 2 1/2 x 4 inch Whisper White CS. Use the 2 1/4 inch Circle Punch to punch out the snowflake. Set aside.

Fold the Pool Party CS card base as shown. Use your Bone Folder to make all of the folds nice and crisp. Lay the card flat on the table.

Adhere one of the 1 1/8 x 5 1/4 inch pieces of the Snowflake Splendor DSP on the front flap.

Open the card and lay flat on the table. Adhere the other 1 1/8 x 5 1/4 inch piece of Snowflake Splendor DSP to the other side of the front flap. Next adhere the 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 inch Snowflake Splendor DSP and then the 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS with the sentiment stamped on it.

Finish with the 3 7/8 x 5 1/4 inch Snowflake Splendor DSP on the last panel.

Fold the card up again and wrap the 1 1/4 x 10 inch Pool Party CS around the card snuggly. This is the belly band. You want it to slide off easily but not fall off. Adhere the end in front.

Cut a banner end on both ends of the sentiment and adhere to the lower portion of the belly band.

Wrap the 10-inch piece of the Snowflake Splendor Ribbon around the belly band and glue in place with the ends meeting in front. Adhere the snowflake with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere the Snowflake Splendor Ribbon bow with glue dots.

There are a lot of Bling! possibilities for this card to make it sparkle. I used both the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the Snowflake Adhesive-Backed Embellishments.

I placed the light blue Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels in the center of and around the large snowflake, then added the Snowflake Embellishments to the background.

Viola! You have a beautiful Fun Fold for sending Christmas Wishes!

I really appreciate you stopping by today. I hope you try this fun card. Best of luck with all your Christmas cards if you haven’t gotten them out yet.

Dove of Hope and Itty Bitty Christmas Stampin’ Up!®

Welcome to day 13 of my 15-Day Christmas Card Challenge! Today’s card is made mostly with dies and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. The sentiments are from the Dove of Hope and the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp sets. The Dove of Hope is in the 2020 Stampin Up! Mini Catalog and the Itty Bitty Christmas is in the 2020-21 Annual Catalog

The dove from the Detailed Dove Dies is definitely the star of the show for this card. The equally elegant layers for the background are from the Ornate Layers Dies.

These Ornate Layers Dies are simply amazing and allow so many possibilities for fancy detailed cards. They are available from the 2020-21 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog HERE.

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock card base: 4 1/4 x 11 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches; Whisper White CS: 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 inch Ornate Layer, the Detailed Dove body and 2 wings, and 1/2 x 3 inch strip; Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper (DSP): 3 1/8 x 4 5/8 inch Ornate Layer; and a double strand bow with the 1/4 inch Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon.

Using the Seaside Spray ink, stamp the sentiment “May your season be filled with all the wonder and blessings of Christmas” from the Dove of Hope stamp set onto the inside panel of the Whisper White CS card base. Stamp the sentiment “Peace & Happiness” from Itty Bitty Christmas on the 1/2 x 3 inch strip of Whisper White CS.

Trim the sentiment “Peace & Happiness” as shown.

Adhere the back wing onto the body of the dove. Now adhere the front wing. When gluing smaller parts, I use the Silicon Craft Sheet to keep the glue from getting on my table.

I have found that cutting the Foam Adhesive Sheets into 1/4 inch strips is a great way to add dimension on a large card piece.

Adhere the Whisper White CS Ornate Layer frame to the front panel of the Whisper White CS card base. Be sure the inside sentiment is in the right place. Adhere the Feels Like Frost DSP Ornate Layer to the card front. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the dove and the sentiment.

Adhere the Seaside Spray bow and Viola! you have an elegant Christmas card to wish some Peace & Happiness to someone special.

Thanks for visiting today. I hope you have mailed off your cards! I am still finishing up the letter I put inside the cards before I can mail them off. I intend to be finished by Monday. Wish me luck!
