Wacky Wednesday Ghost Stamping Technique with In Bloom by Stampin’ Up!®

Welcome to Wacky Wednesday where I explore different techniques for card making. Today I am showing the Ghost Technique with In Bloom by Stampin’ Up!® I recently learned this technique from Frenchie Martin. It is a bit messy, but a lot of fun!

The Flower And Field Designer Series Paper (DSP) used for this card is FREE during Sale-a-bration, but only for 6 more days! I will have more information about Sale-a-bration at the end of the instructions.

Measurements

Measurements: Basic White Card Stock (CS) card base: 4 1/4 x 11 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches; Flirty Flamingo CS: 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches and 1 x 4 inches (not shown); Flower & Field DSP: 4 x 5 1/4 inches; Basic White CS: 1 x 4 inches (the Basic White CS piece pictured here is larger than what you need as I changed the card while I was photographing it).

Stamping

The only stamping outside of the Ghost Stamping Technique is the sentiment. Use Memento Black ink to stamp the “Happy Day” from the Itty Bitty Greetings onto the 1 x 4 inch Basic White CS strip.

Ghost Stamping Technique

Clear Embossing

The first step is to prepare the stamps. I selected 3 of the In Bloom flowers and positioned them in the right-hand corner. I used a D size acrylic block to pick up all three stamps.

The second step is to use an Embossing Buddy to decrease the static so that the embossing powder only sticks where you want it to. Stamp the trio of flowers in Versamark onto the Flower & Field DSP in the right lower corner. Note: Stampin’ Up! no longer sells the Embossing Buddy but it is available from most online craft stores.

The third step is to apply the Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder to the Versamark. Tip: For ease I have poured a few of the little containers of Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder into a plastic container.

Next use the Heat Tool to melt the Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Be sure to melt the entire image. When you hold it in the light, the entire image should be shiny. If it is dull, apply more heat.

In a similar manner, stamp the butterfly from Butterfly Wishes onto the Flower & Field DSP and apply the Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Use the Heat Tool again to melt the butterfly image.

Appling the Memento Ink

For the next step, ensure that your Memento ink is well inked. Use a scrap paper under your card piece. Drag the Memento Black ink pad over the top of the Flower & Field DSP and the images stamped in the Versamark and Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. You may need to go over it several times to get it dark enough. I like that there is a vague pattern from the Flowers & Field DSP showing through the Memento Black ink.

Use a dry Baby Wipe to rub off the black ink that is on the clear embossed images.

Viola! That is Ghost Stamping!

Putting the Card Together

Prepare the sentiment by using the Classic Label Punch to first punch out the “Happy Day” stamped on the Basic White CS. I punched the sentiment out so it was closer the right end. Punch out a label from the 1 x 4 inch Flirty Flamingo CS.

Next adhere the sentiment to the Flirty Flamingo CS Classic Label with a little of the Flirty Flamingo CS showing on the right end. Trim the sentiment card piece with your Paper Snips.

To assemble the card, first adhere the Ghost Stamping card piece to the 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inch Flirty Flamingo CS. Use the Bone Folder to make a crisp fold at the 5 1/2 inch score line on the 4 1/4 x 11 inch Basic White CS. Next adhere the Flirty Flamingo/Ghost Stamping card piece to the front of the Basic White CS card base.

Finish the card by adhering the sentiment as shown.

Viola! You have a very unique card to wish someone a Happy Day!

Thanks so much for your visit today. I hope you will give this technique a try.

Happy Thoughts & Daisy Punch for Fun Fold Friday

The Happy Thoughts stamp set and Daisy Punch combined with some of the FREE Designer Series Paper from Sale-a-bration are what come together to make this pretty floral Fun Fold card. You can find the Happy Thoughts stamp set in the 2021 January-June Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog. The Daisy Punch and Medium Daisy Punch can be found in the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. If you order all three, you will qualify for a FREE product from the Sale-a-bration Brochure- the Paper Blooms 12 x 12 inch DSP!

There are a lot of pieces to this particular Fun-Fold card. Not to worry-the easy to follow photographic instructions will help you create this card in no time.

Measurements

Measurements: Rococo Rose Card Stock (CS) card base #1: 4 1/4 x 11 inches scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 inches; Rococo Rose CS card base #2: 2 3/4 x 10 inches scored at 4 3/4 and 7 1/2 inches; Basic White CS: 2 1/4 x 2 1/2 inches; Paper Blooms DSP: 2 1/2 x 4 inches, 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches; Punched out pieces: Daisy Punch: Rococo Rose CS and Petal Pink CS; Medium Daisy Punch: Night of Navy CS; Perennial Flower: Night of Navy CS and the 2 1/4 inch Circle Punch: Basic White CS. You will also need about 12 inches of the White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.

Stamping

Begin by stamping the sentiment “Thinking OF You” in Night Of Navy ink onto the 2 1/4 x 2 1/2 inch Basic White CS. The 2 1/4 inch length should be on the top and bottom.

Putting It Together

Start by putting together the Rococo Rose CS card base #2. First adhere the 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch Paper Blooms DSP to the first panel on the left. Then adhere the sentiment to the last panel on the right. Set aside.

The next step will be to work with Rococo Rose CS card base #1. Begin by adhering the 2 1/2 x 4 inch Paper Blooms DSP to the first panel on the left. Next adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Paper Blooms DSP to the last panel on the right.

In order to see how this will go together, hold the two card bases as shown in the first photo. Start by adhering the left side of the top card base to the card base underneath.

This is how it will look with the card closed. Right now only the left side of the top card base is adhered.

For the next step, open the card, turn the card upside down and rotate it 180 degrees. You will be applying adhesive to the back of the right side of the top card base. The close the card and adhere the two together. In this way, the card will lay flat for mailing.

Here is the aerial view of the card when it has been adhered.

Decorating the Card Front

Begin to put the front of the card together by using Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the 2 1/4 inch Basic White CS circle to the left side of the front. Tie the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the right side of the top card base. Trim the ends of the ribbon.

In order to give a little dimension to the daisies, use the Bone Folder to gently curve the petals back. Be careful when doing this as I have often torn the petal straight off!

Now cut the Perennial Flower Punch as shown to make some “leaves” for the front of the card.

Start with a Stampin’ Dimensional on the center of the Petal Pink Daisy Punch and adhere it to the center of the Basic White CS Circle Punch. Then use adhesive in the center of the Rococo Rose Daisy Punch and adhere it to the Petal Pink Daisy.

Now use adhesive to adhere the Night Of Navy Daisy Punch and add the “leaves”. I find it easier to place the leaves by using a tweezers.

And now for a little Bling! I just added three Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of the daisy. Later I realized I could have also used the Wink of Stella on the daisy to make it even more sparkly!

Viola! You have a pretty floral Fun Fold to let someone special know you’ve been thinking of them.

Thanks for visiting today. I really appreciate you. Leave me a comment to let me know how I am doing with these Fun Folds. Are they too easy? Too hard? Are the instructions helpful? I welcome any comments you have.

The theme for the cards today is: Thank You. I have many customers who support me and I like to send them a Thank You card every once in awhile. The following set of cards is for my fabulous customers which I will be sending to anyone who orders during the month of February.

The Thank You Cards

I made a whole set of Thank You cards using an Embossing Folder (EF) to emboss the first layer. For the second layer I cut the Flowers & Field Designer Series Paper (DSP) which you can get for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration (January 5 – February 28, 2021) and adhered it to the first layer. The sentiment is made using the “I can’t Thank You enough” from So Sentimental and the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The first layer of this card is made with the Meadow Moments EF and Cherry Cobbler Card Stock CS).

The measurements for the embossed layer are 4 x 5 1/4 inches. The second layer which is the Flower & Field DSP is 3 x 4 inches. The sentiment piece is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This card has the non-floral side of the DSP showing. The Flirty Flamingo CS layer is embossed with the Absolutely Argyle EF.

For this card I used the Seabed 3D EF on Just Jade CS.

All Together!

I have a whole bunch of different combinations of DSP and CS colors!

Stampin’ Up!® Happy Birthday with Happy Thoughts Friday Fun Fold

Hello! I have a wonderful Happy Birthday with Happy Thoughts card for you today for your Friday Fun Fold. The Happy Thoughts stamp set is a great beginner set that is in the 2021 January-June Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. There is a sentiment to put on the front of the card and a longer sentiment for the inside of the card to include: Happy Birthday, Thank You, Congratulations, and Thinking of You. A very versatile stamp set!

The gorgeous Designer Series Paper (DSP) is part of the Fine Art Floral Suite and is called-you guessed it- Fine Art Floral DSP. The little ladybug embellishments are from the Dandy Garden Suite, which I will talk more about later. This lovely handmade birthday card is fairly easy to make, so let’s get started!

Measurements

Measurements: Mossy Meadow Card Stock (CS) card base: 4 1/4 x 8 inches with a score line at 2 1/2 inches; Whisper White CS: 2 3/8 x 4 inches and 2 1/2 x 4 inches (for the oval die cut); Mossy Meadow CS: 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches with a score line at 1/2 inch and 2 3/4 x 4 inches (for the oval die cut); and the Fine Art Floral DSP: 4 x 5 1/4 inches and 2 1/4 x 4 inches.

Stamping

I used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut out the 2 stitched ovals, one from the 2 1/2 x 4 inch Whisper White CS and one from the 2 3/4 x 4 inch Mossy Meadow CS. Next, stamp the sentiment “Happy Birthday” in Mossy Meadow ink onto the Whisper White CS stitched oval. Follow with stamping the inside sentiment in the Mossy Meadow ink onto the 2 3/8 x 4 inch Whisper White CS.

Preparing the Card Base

On the opposite end to the scored end, cut a banner edge. The first cut should be in the center. The second cut is from one corner to the top of the center cut. The third cut is from the other corner to the top of the center cut. Viola! A perfect banner edge every time!

Lay the Mossy Meadow CS card base on the table with the short end on the left. Position the card piece you just cut a banner edge on with the 1/2 inch score line along the right-hand edge of the Fine Art Floral DSP. That will be on the inside of the card base. The Fine Art Floral DSP is just laid down for positioning. Do not adhere the DSP yet. Adhere the 1/2 inch portion of the banner-edged card piece to the inside of the Mossy Meadow CS card base.

Now you may adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Fine Art Floral DSP to the inside of the Mossy Meadow CS card base. Follow by adhering the 2 1/4 x 4 inch piece of Fine Art Floral DSP to the card front. Note: These 2 designs are opposite sides of the same piece of DSP.

Adding the Sentiments

Now you can fold the banner-edged card piece across the card front to see how the card closes. Next you will need to position and adhere the sentiment card piece so that it lies under the banner-edged card piece when the card is closed.

Adhere the “Happy Birthday” Whisper White CS oval to the Mossy Meadow CS oval. In order to give the card some dimension, apply Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the Mossy Meadow CS oval.

Finishing Up

To complete the card, adhere the sentiment piece to the card front. Then use Mini Glue Dots to adhere 3 of the Ladybug Trinkets to the card front. Finish the card by adhering a bow, tied with the Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim, just under the sentiment.

Viola! You have a wonderful Fun Fold to send someone Birthday Wishes!

Art Gallery Simple Stamping Birthday Card

Today is the day the new 2021 January-June Stampin’ Up! catalog goes live! The Art Gallery stamp set is great for this simple stamping Birthday card. The set is a two-step stamp which allows you to add dimension to your stamped image.

This beautiful simple stamping Birthday card is made with Merry Merlot and Flirty Flamingo ink. The Art Gallery stamp set has a variety of sentiments including: thank you, congratulations, good luck, sorry, best wishes, I miss you, and I’m thinking of you. This is a great stamp set for a beginner stamper since there are lovely images and a variety of sentiments.

Measurements

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Merry Merlot CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches and Whisper White CS: 3 3/4 x 5 inches.

Stamping

Begin with the Merry Merlot ink and stamp the sentiment “Happy Birthday” as shown onto the 3 3/4 x 5 inch Whisper White CS. Switch to the Flirty Flamingo ink and stamp the large flower with less detail to the left of the sentiment.

Continuing with the Flirty Flamingo ink, apply ink carefully to the flowers on the bunch of flowers stamp. Try not to get ink on the stem and leaf.

Now carefully apply Old Olive ink to the leaf and then the stem.

Huff onto the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp the image on the right side of the Whisper White CS card piece.

Going back to the Flirty Flamingo ink, apply ink to the flowers. Stamp off the edge of the card piece to fill in the space between the first 2 flower stamps. Leave space under the larger flower for the stem and leaf.

Apply more Flirty Flamingo ink to the bunch of flowers and stamp off the edge above the initial bunch of flowers.

Returning to the Old Olive ink, stamp the leaves and stem under the larger flower.

Here is how the card piece looks at this point. Now we will add some dimension and interest.

Two-Step Stamping

Bringing in the Merry Merlot ink, apply ink to the more detailed large flower. Stamp off before stamping onto the card piece. The image is meant to be a little off but there are some landmarks that match up. It doesn’t need to be precise as it is supposed to show a watercolor effect.

Sticking with the Merry Merlot ink, apply ink to the smaller detailed flower and stamp once in the center of the large flower. Follow by stamping on top of each of the smaller flower images. It is interesting to see how this makes the card piece more interesting to look at.

Putting the Card Together

To finish the card, adhere the stamped card piece to the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Merry Merlot CS, then to the front of the Whisper White CS card base.

Viola! That is all there is to this card! You could make a bunch of these with different colors and different sentiments. I like to have cards on hand to cover any occasion so I don’t have to rush to make one when a situation arises. The Art Gallery sentiments would make a great collection of all occasion cards.

Thank you so much for stopping by. My plan over the next few months is to post a simple stamping card every Tuesday and continue to post a Fun Fold Card on Fridays. I would like to add another post on Wednesday. Do you have a preference for what I should post? Let me know what you would like by commenting below. Thanks in advance for you suggestions.

However, as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I get to order a month early and show you what is in store! (If you would like to be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator click HERE for more information)

I really love butterflies so I appreciate this set.

The Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper (DSP) is yours for free during Sale-a-bration, January 5- February 28, 2021 when you place a $50 order!

Supplies:

Measurements: Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 3 inches; Whisper White CS: 2 1/2 x 4 inches and 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches; Garden Green CS: 3 x 3 1/2 inches; Rich Razzleberry CS: 3 x 3 1/2 inches; Rococo Rose CS: 2 7/8 x 2 7/8 inches, 3 x 3 inches and 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 inches.

Measurements: Oh So Ombre DSP: 3 x 3 inches, 2 7/8 x 4 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Stamping:

Stamp the bunch of butterflies on the 3 x 4 inch pieces of Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry CS in Blackberry Bliss ink.

Continuing with the Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp the frame onto the 2 1/2 x 4 inch Whisper White CS and then stamp “Thank you for your kindness” inside the frame as shown. The sentiment (and the one below) are from the new Dragon Fly Garden stamp set.

“You are an inspiration” is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink onto the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Whisper White CS.

Using the Garden Green ink, stamp the bunch of butterflies onto the 3 x 3 1/2 inch Garden Green CS.

Fussy Cut the above pieces from what you have stamped. Save the remaining pieces for another card. Note: If you have the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine you can cut the pieces with the Fluttering Dies.

Putting It Together:

First, adhere the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Whisper White CS with the sentiment stamped on it to the 3 x 3 inch Rococo Rose CS. Now adhere the 3 x 3 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 inch Rococo Rose CS.

Next adhere the 2 7/8 x 4 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the front panel of the Rich Razzleberry CS card base. Then adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the inside panel.

Lay the inside sentiment piece where you want it and then adhere the piece in place on the inside panel.

Stampin’ Dimensionals are used to adhere the Oh So Ombre DSP/Rococo Rose CS card piece so that it covers the sentiment piece on the inside panel. Note: Only put the Dimensionals on the back of the left hand side and leave the right hand side free. Adhere the stamped frame with the sentiment as shown, again placing the adhesive on the left hand side and avoiding adhesive on the right hand side.

You can use your Bone Folder to curl the all of the butterflies wings slightly. Adhere the Rococo Rose CS butterfly to the inside panel.

Lay out the leaves and butterflies to your liking, then adhere them to the card front.

Finishing Up:

Now for the Bling! The Elegant Faceted Gems have a light pink gem that goes well with the Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry butterflies.

I added a few gems to the butterflies on the front and two to the butterfly on the inside of the card.

Viola! You have a gorgeous card to thank some one and make their day!

I really appreciate you stopping by and visiting today. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

The Floating & Fluttering stamp set and Oh So Ombre paper are not available until January 5, 2021 so I will have to add in the product codes after that.
