Winter into Spring for the Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop-December 2022

Hello fellow stampers! You are visiting with Theresa McEntee-author of Theresa’s Treasures Paper Crafts. I am hopping with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop today. There are several of us- you will find the list to follow the hop at the end of my blog post.

This is both an image and a color challenge. I was inspired by the zipper in the image, closing on winter to a very colorful image with clear skies. I came up with an idea for a Torn Paper Reveal card (also known as a Torn Paper Window or Rolled Torn Paper Reveal card) using some retiring stamps and some product to be released on January 5, 2023 in the Stampin’ Up! 2023 January-April Mini Catalog.

Details

The lovely snowy trees are from the Regal Reindeer stamp set. This stamp set is still available for another week or so in the 2022 July-Dec Mini Catalog. I found the bunny in the Peaceful Deer stamp set. This stamp set is available in the Annual Catalog until the end of April 2023.

Sneak Peek! The flowers of Spring are one of the designs in the Rain or Shine 12 x 12 inch Designer Series Paper. This can be found in the soon to be released 2023 January-April Mini Catalog!

I added extra Bling! to this card with the Rhinestone Basic Jewels and Wink of Stella. The Bling! on the flowers are the Iridescent Pastel Gems! Also a Sneak Peek!

Welcome to the monthly Inspirations in Ink Blog Hop showcasing my Trees for Sale Whimsical Christmas Card. This month the theme is “Christmas in July”. The stamp set I chose for this card is Trees for Sale. I also used the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder and the Fabulous Frame Dies.

Instructions for the Trees for Sale Whimsical Christmas Card

Step 1- 3D Technique

  1. Start by using the White Craft Ink pad to drag it across both Shaded Spruce card stock card pieces embossed with the Whimsical Woodland 3D embossing folder. The “before and after” is pictured above. The White Craft Ink really helps the tree design pop! Set aside to dry.

Step 2-Stamping with Stampin’ Up! Masking Paper

  1. Take the center out of both of the Basic White card stock Fabulous Frame die cuts to stamp on.
  2. Use Soft Suede Ink to stamp the “trees for sale” sign on one of the Basic White card stock card pieces. Stamp a sign on a piece of the Masking Paper. (I used a pink sticky note so you could see what I was masking a little better)
  3. Fussy cut the sign from the Masking Paper. Cover the trees for sale sign on the stamped card piece with the Masking Paper sign.
  4. Use Mint Macaron Ink to stamp the solid small and medium sized trees.
  5. Stamp a small tree on the Masking Paper and fussy cut it.
  6. Use Shaded Spruce to stamp the detailed tree on the small tree only.
  7. Cover the small tree with the tree you cut from the Masking Paper.

Step 3-More Masking

  1. Use Shaded Spruce ink to stamp the detailed tree on all the medium trees.
  2. Remove the Masking Paper from the small tree and the Trees for Sale sign.

Step 4-Stamping the Scene

  1. Use Memento Ink to stamp the string of lights. Color the lights with Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers.
  2. Stamp some snowflakes and the paw prints in Balmy Blue Ink.
  3. On a scrap of Basic White card stock, stamp the dog in Soft Suede Ink. Use the Stampin’ Write Basic Black Marker to add some eyes, a nose and some spots to the dog. Fussy cut. (I cut the bottom jaw off because my dog did not look right with the jaw on)
  4. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the dog to the scene.
  5. Stamp the sentiment “Christmas Greetings” in Real Red Ink on the 3/4 x 3 inch Basic White card stock strip.

Step 5-Stamping the Inside

  1. On the second Basic White card stock Fabulous Frame die cut, stamp “so very merry” in Real Red Ink.
  2. Stamp the snowflakes in Balmy Blue Ink.

Step 6-Assembling the Inside

  1. Assemble the inside of the card. Adhere one of the Shaded Spruce card stock embossed with the Whimsical Woodland embossing folder to the inside of the Mint Macaron card stock card base.
  2. Adhere the stamped Basic White card stock.
  3. Complete the inside by adhering the Real Red card stock Fabulous Frame die cut.

Step 7-Assembling the Card Front

  1. Adhere the second embossed Shaded Spruce card stock card piece to the front of the Mint Macaron card stock card base.
  2. Adhere the stamped Basic White card stock scene to the card front.
  3. Add the Real Red card stock Fabulous Frame die cut.
  4. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment.
  5. Embellish with the Real Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Voila!

Stampin’ Up!® Wonderful Snowflakes Season’s Greetings

Although I am not quite ready for Christmas cards, I couldn’t resist using the Wonderful Snowflakes as part of my card for The Paper Players Color Challenge PP567.

Here is my card:

This is a Slim Line card. The card base measures 8 1/2 x 7 inches with a score line at 3 1/2 inches. The scalloped rectangle in the background is not a Stampin’ Up! product, but I hear tell that there are some Slim Line Dies in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2022 Jan-June Mini Catalog!

The Wonderful Snowflakes are iridescent! The greeting from the Christmas To Remember stamp set is embossed with Silver Emboss Powder. The embossed snowflakes behind the sentiment are from the Time of Giving stamp set. The ribbon is the White 1/4 inch Crinkled Seam Binding in the Stampin’ Up! 2021-22 Annual Catalog.

I added a lot of Bling! using the Rhinestone Basic Jewels. There are 16 rhinestones on this card!

I love to enter The Paper Player Challenges because I need to push myself to imagine and think outside of my usual modus operandi. I find that I create cards in a new and exciting way.

Voila! That is it for today! Thanks for stopping by. Stop by The Paper Players and see the other entries to the Color Challenge PP567 HERE

Have a most wonderful day!

Cardz4guyz Challenge # 262- Let It Snow

I really love the snow. Mostly because I live in Arizona and don’t have to deal with it unless I choose to go up to the mountain to go skiing. Most years our family will venture up into the White Mountains for a weekend of skiing. This year we will not be going due to the Pandemic and the fact that there is very little snow. Arizona is currently in a drought. However, I decided to create a nice snowy forest scene for the Let It Snow Challenge. For this card I used stamps from Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods, Very Versailles and Snowflake Wishes stamp sets.

The snowy scene I created uses 3 layers on a base of Shaded Spruce Card Stock (CS). The first layer is a Basic White CS stamped in Shaded Spruce ink with the large tree in the Winter Woods stamp set. The center tree is stamped at full strength and the two trees in the back are Stamped Off. The little snowflakes on this first layer are from Snowflake Wishes and are stamped in Balmy Blue ink. The inside of the card is also stamped in the large tree and small snowflakes along the right-hand edge.

The second layer is the retired Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper cut out with one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. This is adhered to the back of a Basic White CS cut with a larger Stitched Nested Labels Die.

The top layer is also Basic White CS, cut from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies and is stamped with several different stamps from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set. The Stampin’ Up! ink colors are: Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight and Highland Heather. The sentiment is from the Very Versailles stamp set and is stamped in Shaded Spruce ink. The final touch is the 3 die-cut snowflakes in the Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper.
