Framed Florets Mountain Scene for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – November 2022

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Theresa’s Treasures written by Theresa McEntee- USA. I hope you enjoy my Framed Florets Mountain Scene card.

In order to make this card, I used Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Deer and Season of Chic stamp sets. The frames are part of the Framed Florets Dies.

Today everyone is sharing their inspiration from this colorful Scene & Color Challenge. There are several of us hopping today. My Framed Florets Mountain Scene card is just one idea. You will find a list of participants for you to follow along at the end of my blog post. Visit each blog for awesome ideas!

I was very inspired by the gorgeous, colorful mountain scene! The Stampin’ Up! colors match perfectly. Today I am using all of the colors!

I was able to achieve the mountain scene by using the Blending Brushes and a torn piece of copy paper.

Create the Mountain Scene

Trace the inner border of the larger frame from the Framed Florets Dies onto a 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch Basic White card stock(cs). Tear some copy paper strips. Secure the Basic White cs with repositionable tape. Secure the strip of copy paper as well. Start on top with the Fresh Freesia Ink and a Blending Brush. Apply the ink lightly at first. Darken to your liking. Add a small amount of the Orchid Oasis Ink in the upper right corner. Remove the copy paper mask.

Add the Trees

Move the copy paper down a bit and apply the Fresh Freesia Ink again. You may shift the copy paper strip, or even turn it over for variation. Continue moving down and use the Starry Sky Ink. After a couple of layers, use the Evening Evergreen Ink to stamp the trio of pine trees. The trees are in the Peaceful Deer stamp set. Re-apply the copy paper strip at the same level and stamp the smaller trees. Stamp off on some trees. This will give a 3D effect.

Continue to move the copy paper strip down. Switch to the Evening Evergreen Ink. Finish up with the Daffodil Delight Ink. Add a touch of Pumpkin Pie Ink on the bottom left. Tip: The Daffodil Delight Ink layer is in line with the hill under the stamped tree on the left.

Measurements

  • Basic White cs card base: 8 1/2 x 11 inches scored at 4 1/4 inches
  • Basic White cs: 1 x 3 1/4 inches for the sentiment
  • Evening Evergreen cs: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches, 4 x 5 inches for the large frame and 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches for the inner frame.
  • Texture Chic 12×12 inch Designer Series Paper (DSP): 4 x 5 1/4 inches

Note: I Stamped Off with the Fresh Freesia Ink and the paint arch stamp in the Season of Chic stamp set to add a little color to the sentiment background. The sentiment is stamped in Evening Evergreen.

I hope this colorful card has inspired you and hopefully brightened your day.  There are other amazing inspirations for you to see as you hop along this blog hop. Please see the list below. You are at Theresa’s Treasures written by Theresa McEntee. Be sure not to miss anyone!

Thanks for visiting!

Stampin’ Up! Kits Collection-The Best Remedy

Hello and Happy Monday! We the made cards in the Stampin’ Up! Kits Collection- The Best Remedy at my Zoom Card Making Class this last Saturday. So much fun and we all ended up with 9 great Get Well cards!

Card #1

The first card has a sweet little skunk with a paired sentiment “Even though this stinks…”. There are two choices for what follows. I chose “I’m here for you”. You could also choose “Feel better soon”. Notice the sparkling flower sequins! I only have one card left. I have already mailed the other two away!

Card #2

There is also an ice-cream-eating mouse! He/she recommends ice cream as a remedy! Which I will wholeheartedly agree with! I made three different versions of this card just by cutting the pink background. I like to figure out how to make alternative cards, limiting myself to what comes in the kit.

Card #3

This adorable little chick has an old-fashioned ice pack on his head. He has a sweet sentiment “A little bird told me you were under the weather”. Check out the shiny sequins over his head! Again, I created three versions of the card. I did this just by placing the dark blue panel in a different position each time.

The Best Remedy Kit

The Best Remedy Kit Includes;

  • pre-cut card pieces and supplies to make 9 cards
  • 9 coordinating envelopes
  • a D-size clear acrylic block
  • a unique kit-sized stamp set
  • Starry Sky Ink Spot
  • Flower and Round Sequins
  • Mini Glue Dots
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • complete instructions

I highly recommend this kit to beginning and experienced crafters alike. You can put the cards together rather quickly. It is a good idea to have Get Well cards on hand. You never know when a Get Well card will be needed.

Next Zoom Class with Theresa’s Treasures

I am creating the next cards for my December 10, 2022 Zoom Card Making Class. I am using the Kindest Gnomes stamp set and Gnomes Dies. If you would like to join us, please email me for more information at theresastreasures.az@gmail.com. I will also update the information on this blog ASAP. Order soon as there is Thanksgiving Holiday that will slow shipping down as well as the beginning of the Christmas Holiday season.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Happy Crafting!

6. Adhere the sentiment with the 1/4 inch Foam Adhesive strips. Use a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals in the center of the larger flower to adhere it. Add the smaller flower and leaves by sliding them under the larger flower. I use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue for this. It is easier to slide the card pieces.

7. Add the Opal Rounds and Voila! you have a very elegant card!

November Paper Pumpkin Kit-Ho Ho Ho!

Let me share with you what came in the November Paper Pumpkin Kit so you have an idea of what to expect. You can also create alternative cards using the elements in the kit in different ways!

These cards were made using the Ho Ho Ho November Paper Pumpkin kit. The card on top is made following the instructions in the kit. The card in back is an alternative version, still using what was in the kit, but done just a little bit differently.

For the alternative, I used the Crumb Cake laser-cut snowflake panel as a stencil. I applied the Crumb Cake Ink with a Blending Brush to create a subtle shadow of snowflakes for the background. Then I tilted the letters and Santa for the “JOY”.

The alternative for this one was created using the laser-cut snowflake panel that came with the next card. I used Pool Party Ink and a Blending Brush. I also added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the sky!

Is is the third card in the November Ho Ho Ho Paper Pumpkin kit. The top card is the way it is done following the instructions. Notice the iridescent snowflake that came in this kit!

The bottom card was made by turning the laser-cut snowflake panel over. I also used Pool Party Ink to color the back of the Iridescent Snowflakes.

Next month’s Paper Pumpkin:

Theresa’s Treasures Monthly Zoom Card Making Class

And while you are ordering, consider getting a kit from the Kits Collection. The Best Remedy Kit will be the focus on my next monthly Zoom Card Making Class. The class will be held on November 19, 2022 at 1 pm MST. Just send me an email at theresastreasures.az@gmail.com so I can send you the Zoom link. I hope to see you there!
