Stampin’ Up!® Sweet Little Stockings Pet Christmas Tree card

I am on Day 5 of the “12 Days of Christmas Card Making Challenge” with my stamping buddy Christy. Today’s card is a Stampin’® Up! Sweet Little Stockings Pet Christmas Tree card. Each day my blog will focus on a new holiday card. The challenge is until December 10, 2021. I plan to showcase a different stamp set with each card. This will allow you plenty of time to see the great products that are available in the 2021 Stampin’ Up! July to December Mini Catalog and to order in time to make your own Christmas cards! You can order HERE when you have your list ready!

I wanted to showcase the totally cute Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper (DSP). My thought was to make a Christmas tree out of all the adorable pets. Here is what I came up with using a Fun Fold for Fun Fold Friday!

Measurements

Stampin’® Up! Sweet Little Stockings Pet Christmas Tree card

  • Evening Evergreen Card Stock (CS) card base: 4 1/4 x 11 inches.
  • Basic White CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches and a scrap that is at least 1 inch wide.
  • Old Olive CS: 2 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches, 1 7/8 x 4 3/8 inches and two at 7/8 x 1 7/8 inches.

Cutting out the Pet Images

Here are all the awesome Sweet Stockings DSP designs. (Buy some HERE).

These are the adorable pets for the Stampin’ Up! Sweet Stockings Pet Christmas Tree card that I fussy cut from the Sweet Stockings DSP. The puppies, the kitten and the mouse in the stocking come from the design with all the little stockings.

Making the Fun Fold Card Base

I actually struggled with this one. I believe I finally came up with easy-to-follow instructions. If not, please leave me a comment with any suggestions you may have. Here is the template.

Scoring the Evening Evergreen CS card base. (Score=Dashed lines/ Cut=Solid line)

  1. Score at 4 1/2 inches from 2 inches to the top.
  2. Next score at 5 1/2 inches from 2 inches down to the bottom.
  3. Finish scoring at 9 inches and then 10 inches from 2 inches to the top.

Turn the card base and cut from 1 inch to 6 1/2 inches at 2 inches from the left side.

Fold as shown in the left-hand photo. Use your Bone Folder to make the folds nice and crisp.

Stamping

Before you stamp onto the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Basic White CS, remove a 1 x 2 inch piece from the upper right-hand corner. Use this piece to stamp the larger present in Memento ink. On the remainder of the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White CS use Memento ink to stamp a cascade of the small presents. Stamp the sentiment “Santa Paws is Coming to Town” in the center. On the scrap of Basic White CS stamp the sentiment “Peace Joy & Kisses”. I had to stamp it twice to get a dark stamp.

Color the presents with the Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. Adhere the piece with the “Santa Paws” sentiment to the inside of the Evening Evergreen CS card base.

Creating the Card Front

Adhere the Old Olive CS card pieces as shown.

Building the Pet Christmas Tree

Start on the right by placing the dog with the wreath about 1/4 inch from the bottom. Adhere the little dog in the sweater so he looks as though he is standing on the black dog’s back. Add a second dog in the sweater to the panel behind.

Adhere the rest of the cute pets stacking the next one on the lower pet’s back. When the card is open it will look like the photo on the left. The right-hand photo shows the card folded up.

Build the left side starting with the Golden Retriever wrapped in Christmas lights. Add the cats and mice. Top it off with the cute little puppy. Add the Christmas ornaments. Now adhere the large colored present with a Stampin’ Dimensional to the bottom left-hand corner. Finish by adhering the sentiment to the large present.

Add some Wonderful Gems and Voila! you have an adorable Sweet Little Stockings Pet Christmas Tree card for your favorite pet-lover!

I am so glad you stopped by for the 5th day of my 12 Days of Christmas Card Making Challenge! I hope you will come by for tomorrow’s card! Leave me a comment as to what you think about my first 5 days of Christmas cards. Which is your favorite card?

Stampin’ Up!® Pampered Pets for Paper Players Challenge PP529

I am starting to participate in a new challenge with The Paper Players which you can visit by clicking HERE to see all of the entries. The challenge for this week is “Clean and Simple”. This means there are minimal layers, little to no embellishments and lots of white space.

This cute little kitty is in the Stampin’ Up!® Pampered Pets stamp set. I used the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers in Flirty Flamingo, Smoky Slate and Basic Black to color the image. The sentiment is from the Zoo Globe stamp set.

Measurements: Basic White Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Flirty Flamingo CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches; Basic Gray CS: 1 x 5 inches; and Basic White CS: 3 5/8 x 5 inches.

I believe it is very important to let your children know that you are proud of them from time to time. Fortunately I have four beautiful children who I am very proud of. This card will be mailed to my lovely daughter, who is not only working full time and but is also taking four courses at the local community college. I am very proud of all of her accomplishments.

Stampin’ Up!® Peace & Joy for a Cat Lovers Christmas

Good Morning! I hope you are getting started on a lovely day. I have a really cute card today using the Cat Punch and the Peace & Joy stamp set.

I just love the Stampin’ Up! color Pacific Point. It is just so soothing. I am also in love with the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper (DSP) which is the snowy background. Right now you can get the DSP for 20% off during the Giant Year-End Closeout from December 8, 2020 to January 4, 2021. Shop HERE. Download the complete list of retiring products and discounts below.

The Peace & Joy stamp set has several large sentiments along with smaller strip sentiments to design your own personal sentiment. It is also on the retiring list.

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS) card base: 4 1/4 x 11 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches; Pacific Point CS: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches and 3 x 4 inches; Snowflake Splendor DSP: 4 x 5 1/4 inches; and Whisper White CS: 3 x 3 inches, 1 1/2 x 4 inches and 1/2 x 3 inches.

Stamp the “Peace” sentiment in Pacific Point ink onto the 1 1/2 x 4 inch Whisper White CS. Stamp the sentiment “To you and yours” onto the 1/2 x 3 inch Whisper White CS. Note: When using the Photopolymer stamps, you will need something underneath like the Stampin’ Pierce Mat or a catalog to get the best image.

Fussy cut the sentiments with your Paper Snips and set aside.

Use the 2 1/4 inch Circle Punch to punch a circle on the upper portion of the Snowflake Splendor DSP in the middle. The DSP in this photo is upside down. Be sure to push the DSP all the way down into the punch.

Adhere the 3 x 3 inch Whisper White CS to the back of the Snowflake Splendor DSP covering the 2 1/4 inch circle. I am using a Silicon craft Sheet to avoid having the project stick to my table. Flip over and adhere the card piece to the 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inch Pacific Point CS.

Punch the cat out of the 3 x 4 inch Pacific Point CS with the Cat Builder Punch. Adhere the cat in front of the “moon”.

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the “Peace” sentiment under the cat. Adhere the “To you and yours” sentiment under the “Peace”.

Use your Bone Folder to fold the 4 1/4 x 11 inch Whisper White CS card base at the 5 1/2 inch score line. Adhere the cat card piece to the front of the card base.

Viola! You have a soothing card to send some peace to your favorite cat lover.

I really appreciate your visit today. I have been doing a 15-Day Christmas Card Challenge since December 1, 2020 if you would like to go to the previous posts and see lots of handmade Christmas card ideas. Please leave a comment and let me know which is your favorite.

Cats will be Cats

My cats rarely misbehave, but when they do it is usually because they are upset about something. I have never had them unroll a ball of yarn, usually it is the roll of toilet paper!

Isn’t this card adorable? I got the inspiration from a stamping friend, Heather, who did a similar card with a Valentine’s theme.

As I sit here typing this Blog into my computer, my cat Anakin is sitting on my lap. Whenever I sit down at the computer he shows up to get some lovin’.

Measurements: Whisper White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches folded at 4 1/4 inches, Floral Romance DSP (just the other side from the previous card) 5 1/4 x 4 inches, Whisper White 5 x 2 inches and 4 x 2 1/4 inches. You will also need about 36 inches of Stampin’ Up! Silver and Petal Pink Bakers Twine.

Ink: Petal Pink, Cajun Craze and Memento

Use the Cajun Craze ink to stamp the outline of the cat onto the 4 x 2 1/4 inch piece of Whisper White.

Using the Cajun Craze ink again, stamp the spots onto the cat taking care to line up the edges before stamping down.

Insert the stamped cat into the Cat Builder Punch. Line up the edges and apply a light pressure to hold in place. With the punch on the table, push quickly and firmly to punch out the cat. Set aside.

Use the Memento ink to stamp the sentiment “You’re the cats meow!” onto the Floral Romance DSP. Stamp on the upper left hand corner of the DSP.

The Silver Petal Pink Baker’s Twine is composed of 3 strands. We only need the Petal Pink strand.

Pull on the Petal Pink strand until it is separated from the white and silver strands. Set aside.

Lay the cat onto the 5 x 2 inch piece of Whisper White so he is half way on the cardstock. This is to help with placement of the ball of yarn. This is a Two-step stamp. I found it is easiest to stamp the outline of the ball of yarn first. Stamp the ball of yarn onto the bottom right.

Now stamp the solid ball of yarn. This can be somewhat difficult to do. You may have to try more than once to get it lined up properly. If you are having a hard time, try practicing on a scrap piece of paper first.

Place a glue dot with the Paper Piercing Tool at the end of the string on the stamped ball of yarn.

Adhere the Petal Pink twine to the glue dot and apply mild pressure to start to wrap the twine around the cardstock.

Wrap the twine until you reach the top of the cardstock. If you have it too tight the cardstock will bow.

Place a glue dot on the back and adhere the end of the twine to it. Cut off any excess twine.

Adhere the stamped Floral Romance DSP onto the Whisper White card base.

Place Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the piece with the twine wrapped around it.

Peel off the protective covers and adhere to the right side of the card front.

Hold the cat in the position you desire. We are going to put glue on the half that is on the piece with the wrapped twine, and Stampin’ Dimensionals on the half that is on the Floral Romance DSP.

Apply the Stampin’ Dimensionals and the Multipurpose Liquid Glue and adhere to the card front.

And there you have an adorable card to let someone know they are “The cats meow!”

Love My Cat

I just love cats! I have had a cat, although not the same cat, since I was in the 9th grade. All of my cats have been very loving and compassionate, helping me through the tough times and celebrating with me during the happy times. This card is a celebration of the love I feel for my little furry friends.

This card is the 2nd in a series of 3 cards I am making using Stampin’ Up!’s Nine Lives stamp set, the Cat Builder Punch and the Floral Romance Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Measurements: Whisper White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches folded at 4 1/4 inches, Pear Pizzazz 5 1/4 x 4 inches, Floral Romance DSP 5 x 2 inches, Whisper White 4 x 2 1/4 inches and 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches.

You will also need Stampin’ Up!’s Soft Suede ink, Melon Mambo ink and Memento ink.

Use the Soft Suede ink to stamp the outline of the cat onto the 4 x 2 1/4 inch strip of Whisper White. Stamp towards the bottom of the paper.

We are going to use the Soft Suede ink to add stripes to the cat. Take care to line up the edges before stamping down. Sometimes this takes a couple of tries. This reminds me of a friend’s cat who recently passed away. (The cat not the friend!) In memory of him, I will name this cat Oliver.

Put the strip of card stock with Oliver on it into the Cat Builder punch. Line the edges up and squeeze gently to hold Oliver in place, lay the punch on the table and push quickly and firmly to punch him out. Viola!

Lay Oliver on the Whisper White square to place the sentiment. Using the Memento ink, stamp the sentiment “True Love has four paws” onto the lower left hand cornet.

We want Oliver to be able to speak his mind. Use the Memento ink to stamp the “Meow!” next to Oliver.

Use the Melon Mambo ink and the hearts stamp to put cute little hearts around Oliver. He is a very loving cat!

Add the hearts until you are satisfied with the result.

Use the Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of Oliver. I cut a sliver off of one to put on the back of the tail.

Peel off the backing on the Dimensionals and adhere Oliver to the sentiment piece.

Adhere the Floral Romance DSP to the piece of Pear Pizzazz.

Now to add a little mouse, eek! This is a Two Step stamp. Using the Soft Suede stamp the outline to the mouse onto the bottom right hand corner of the Pear Pizzazz. An example of the solid part of the mouse is on the scrap paper.

We are going to use the Stamping Off Technique on the mouse. I didn’t want the body to be so dark as to obscure the eye. Using the Soft Suede ink stamp onto the scrap paper first, then onto the outline of the mouse. Be sure to line it all up before stamping down. Isn’t that mouse so cute, eek!

Now lay Oliver and the sentiment onto the Pear Pizzazz card piece and stamp a few more of the little hearts.

Use the Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere Oliver and the sentiment to the Pear Pizzazz card piece.

Now adhere the Pear Pizzazz piece to the Whisper White card base, and you have another great card!

Don’t forget to check out the cute kitty card I made on my previous blog. This is a really fun stamp set and there are so many possibilities.

Stampin’ Up! just added more to the choices of free product today! You may choose a free product for every $50 you order.
