Stampin’ Up!® Easy Winter Fun Fold with Warm and Toasty

Hello and welcome to my Fun Fold Friday! Today I created a wintery scene with the Warm and Toasty stamp set and Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper (DSP). This is an easy Fun Fold to do.

These little critters are having a grand time! Perfect for spreading some cheer this winter!

Measurements: Pacific Point Card Stock (CS): 4 1/4 x 11 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches, 4 x 10 1/4 inches with a score line at 2 1/2 and 5 inches, and 1 x 3 1/4 inches; Whisper White CS: 3 3/4 x 5 inches, 4 x
5 1/4 inches and 3/4 x 3 inches; Feels Like Frost DSP: 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 inches and two 2 3/8 x 3 5/8 inches.

Using Memento Black ink, stamp the Polar Bear, Bunnies and Reindeer onto the 3 3/4 x 5 inch Whisper White CS.

Use the Memento Black ink to stamp the Baby Polar Bear onto the bottom right corner of the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS. Using the Pacific Point ink stamp the sentiment “Here’s to a cool yule” next to the Baby Polar Bear.

Finish with the snowflakes stamped in Pacific Point ink. This is the inside of the card. Set aside.

Use the Stampin’ Write Markers in Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Petal Pink, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue and Pacific Point to color the images. Don’t forget to add a little Petal Pink marker to the Baby Polar Bear’s ears and feet!

Adhere the Feels Like Frost DSP to the corresponding places on the 4 x 10 1/4 inch Pacific Point CS piece that has the score lines at 2 1/2 and 5 inches.

Adhere the Baby Polar Bear card piece to the inside of the 4 1/4 x 11 inch Pacific Point cards base after you have used the Bone Folder on the 5 1/2 inch score line to make a crisp fold.

Adhere the Feels Like Frost DSP/Pacific Point CS piece to the front of the card base.

Fussy cut all of the images.

Adhere the sentiment “Warm & toasty wishes to you” to the 1 x 3 1/4 inch Pacific Point CS. Lay all of the pieces on the card front to see where you would like everything to be.

Adhere all of the images to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Now for some Bling! The Rhinestone Basic Jewels are perfect for adding a little more sparkle!

Viola! This easy fun fold is ready to be sent off to wish someone some winter cheer!

Thanks so much for visiting today. I am excited to get into the Holiday Spirit and make some fun festive cards! Please leave a comment and like my blog. I love hearing from you!

Stampin’ Up! Artistry Blooms Thank You Card

Since saying “Thank You” to others is such an important gesture I decided to break from the Halloween and Fall cards to make a fun Thank You card that uses the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP). Artistry Blooms is one of the many Designer Series Papers currently available for 15% off. More on that below.

I just love the Artistry Blooms DSP because of all the bright colors and abstract patterns.

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS): 4 1/4 x 11 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches and 2 x 4 inches; Mango Melody CS: 3 x 5 inches; Magenta Madness CS: 2 x 4 1/4 inches; Artistry Blooms DSP: 2 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches and 1 3/4 x 4 inches.

Peaceful Moments is a really great sentiment stamp set for the beginner. It has most of the major categories included: Happy Birthday, Congratulations, Sympathy, and Thank you.

Using Magenta Madness ink, stamp the sentiment “Thank You” onto the 2 x 4 inch Whisper White CS. Punch the sentiment out with the Timeless Label Punch. Believe it or not, that is it for the stamping.

Adhere the 2 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches Artistry Blooms DSP to the 3 x 5 inches Mango Melody CS. Then adhere the 1 3/4 x 4 inch Artistry Blooms DSP to the 2 x 4 1/4 inch Magenta Madness CS.

Fold the 4 1/4 x 11 inch Whisper White CS at the 5 1/2 inch score line and use the Bone Folder to make a crisp fold. Adhere the Mango Melody CS and DSP card piece to the left side of the card front. I try to leave a white border on the left side, the top and the bottom that are roughly equal, about 1/4 inch. Add the Magenta Madness CS and DSP card piece so that the right white border is the same as the left white border.

Use the Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment “Thank You” to the card front. This card is perfectly fine the way it is. However, I wanted to add some butterflies and Bling! to dress the card up a bit.

I cut a 2 inch strip of the Artistry Blooms DSP in a pattern that would show up against the two patterns already on the card. I punched out one large and two small butterflies with the Butterfly Duet Punch.

I used the Bone Folder to curl the ends of the butterfly’s wings.

I put them on the card and moved them around until I felt I had a nice balance.

Now for the Bling! I used the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots in the Magenta Madness and Bumble Bee colors in the center of the butterflies.

Viola! You have a colorful thank you card to send off! A card that expresses gratitude is really beneficial not only to the recipient of the card but also to the sender. I think if the card is made by the sender, the sender benefits even more! Good feelings all around!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I really enjoy hearing your comments, so let me know what you think. Also, please like my post. Thank you!

International Blog Highlight Winners Hop October- Country Home

I am so excited and thankful to be part of the Top 10 Winners Hop from Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlight! Thank you to everyone who voted for my card from October’s International Blog Highlight, allowing me another opportunity to post on the Winners Hop. Ten Demonstrators from around the world will be posting today. The theme today is Thanks.

I created this card using several techniques including masking and sponging. I have fallen in love with all you can do with the Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers and the Country Home stamp set. Additional texture was added with the use of the Textured Essentials stamp set. I continued the background design on the right of the inside.

By sponging, I blended Misty Moonlight and Cajun Craze inks together to create the background. The sentiment and blotches are in Early Espresso ink. The Stampin’ Blends colors are: Misty Moonlight, Gray Granite, Smoky Slate, Just Jade, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake.

I hope you enjoyed my card. I am very thankful for all the good things; sometimes they are difficult to see, but there are many good things and good people out there.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Cardz4Guyz Challenge #256 Colors of Autumn/Fall

Welcome Autumn! It is still hot here in Bisbee Arizona, USA but the evenings and early mornings are cooling down a bit. Today is windy and cool. I love the changing leaves. We don’t see too much of that here, but I recently visited Kentucky and Tennessee so I saw a lot of color. So for the Cardz4Guyz challenge #256- color of Autumn/Fall, I wanted to make some falling leaves with different fall colors for my card today.

The Stampin’ Up! colors I used are: Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Mango Melody, and Merry Merlot. I used the Gather Together stamp set (in the 2020 Stampin’ Up! August-December Mini Catalog) to make this colorful Fall card.

For the sentiment, I cut a maple leaf with the Gathered Leaves Dies. I sponged some Cajun Craze ink around the edges of the Very Vanilla card stock leaf and stamped the sentiment “Gather Together” in Cajun Craze ink.

The trick with the leaves is that I applied ink to the die, put it on the cardstock and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine. The photo on the right shows the leaf with and without using the ink with the die.

Viola! You have a very colorful Autumn card to send to your special guy!

RamZ here loves the leaves too. He appears very happy to be in the leaf pile at my sister’s home. Beautiful golden yellow!

Thanks for stopping by for the Cardz4Guyz Challenge #256- Colors of Autumn/Fall. See more cards with this theme at the Cardz4GuyZ blog by clicking HERE.

Have a wonderful Fall day!

Stampin’ Up!® Snowflake Wishes Friday Fun-fold Gatefold card

Happy Friday! I hope you all made it through the week doing well. Now for the weekend and plenty of crafting! Yay!

The Fun-fold card for today is called a Gatefold Card with a Belly Band. I used the new Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper for extra sparkle on the Belly Band!

Here is what the card looks like when the Belly Band is in place. Fun!

This is the Snowflake Wishes stamp set by Stampin’ Up!® which is available in the 2020 August-December Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog.

Measurements: Balmy Blue Card Stock (CS): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches scored at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8 inches, and 1 1/2 x 9 1/8 inches scored at 2 3/8 and 6 3/4 inches; Whisper White CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches, 3 x 4 inches and 1 x 4 1/2 inches; Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper (DSP): two 2 x 5 3/8 inches; and Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper: 1 1/4 x 9 inches scored at 2 1/4 and 6 5/8 inches.

Stamp one of the larger snowflakes from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set in Balmy Blue ink onto the 3 x 4 inch Whisper White CS. Use the 2 1/4 inch Circle Punch to punch the snowflake out. Set aside.

Stamp the sentiment “Snowflake Wishes for a Merry Christmas” in Pacific Point ink onto the 1 x 4 1/2 inch Whisper White CS. Cut a banner end on the right end.

Tip: To get a perfect banner end every time, first make a cut in the middle. Next make a cut from one corner to the top of the middle cut. Finally, cut from the other corner to the top of the middle cut. Works every time!

Use the Pacific Point ink to stamp the larger group of snowflakes on the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS. Switch to the Balmy Blue ink and stamp the smaller group of snowflakes onto the card piece. This will be the inside.

To make the Belly Band, adhere the 1 1/4 x 9 inch Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper to the 1 1/2 x 9 1/8 inch Balmy Blue CS. Be sure to line up the score lines. Fold and use the Bone Folder to make a crisp fold.

Adhere one of the 2 x 5 3/8 inch Snowflake Splendor DSP to each end of the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch Balmy Blue CS card base.

Turn the card piece over, fold on the score lines and use the Bone Folder to make a crisp fold.

Open the card and adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS piece that is stamped with the snowflakes to the middle.

Wrap the Belly Band around the card loose enough so it will slide off easily, but tight enough so it won’t fall off. Adhere the ends with adhesive. Tip: The Multipurpose Liquid Glue is good for adhering to the Glimmer Paper. Be sure to hold it together for about 10-20 seconds.

Adhere the sentiment so that it hangs off the bottom of the Belly Band. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the snowflake over the top of the sentiment.

Now for the Bling! The Blue Adhesive Backed Gems are perfect in combination with the snowflakes!

Viola! You have made a fun Gatefold card to add to your stack of Christmas cards. Now is the time for me to start making more Christmas cards so I can have cards ready to mail out on time. I need about 40 cards! I better get busy!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I really appreciate your comments. Please like my page and my blog if you haven’t already done so.

Stampin’ Up!® Ghostly Halloween Greetings and the Emboss Powder Technique

Hello everyone! It is good to be back home after my road trip to Kentucky. I had a wonderful time visiting my son who is in the Army. I am anxious to start stamping and making cards again!

I have a fun and spooky Punch Art Style card for you today. Punch Art consists of card designs made entirely by using different punches to make images. This is a very simple Punch Art card, where I just turned the Tulip Punch upside down to create the ghost shape. The Halloween stamp set is Hallows Night Magic in the Stampin’ Up! 2020 August-December Mini Catalog. The faces and bows were from the Hippo Happiness stamp set found in the 2020-21 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. I will also go over using Emboss Powder to make the white sentiment on the Basic Black card stock.

Measurements: Basic Black Card Stock (CS): 4 1/4 x 11 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches and 3/4 x 4 1/8 inches; Whisper White CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches (inside) and 2 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches; the black bat design in the Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper (DSP): 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches.

Additional supplies: Memento Black ink, Versamark ink, White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Embossing Supplies Here are the supplies I keep handy when I want to use Emboss Powder. I keep everything in a bag so that when I want to use it, it is all together. Pictured: Versamark ink, Embossing Buddy, White Emboss Powder, spoon, small paint brush and a microfiber cloth. Note: Stampin’ Up! is not currently selling the Embossing Buddy but there are several you can find online, or you can make your own with some tightknit fabric and cornstarch. I have seen instructions for the homemade version online as well.

In order to prepare the 3/4 x 4 1/8 inch Basic Black CS strip for embossing, it is very important to use the Embossing Buddy first to decrease the static and absorb oils from your skin that may be on the paper. Just move the Embossing Buddy firmly from left to right 2 or 3 times. There will be a white residue left behind that we will remove later. Use the Versamark ink and the sentiment “Happy Halloween” to stamp onto the Basic Black CS.

Take care not to touch the stamped sentiment. Hold onto one end of the strip and use the spoon to sprinkle a good amount of the White Emboss Powder onto it. Shake the excess off. Use the paintbrush to remove any of the Emboss Powder that is in the wrong place. Tip: I put my emboss powders in a plastic container because I find it much easier to use than trying to keep the powder in the little jar it comes in. This container has 3 jars of the White Emboss powder in it.

Hold onto one end and use the Heat Tool to apply an even flow of heated air to the Emboss Powder. I move my Heat Tool back and forth to avoid concentrating the heat in one spot and burning the paper. You will suddenly see that the Emboss Powder becomes a bright white and is shiny. Tip: Hold the strip up to a light and ensure that the entire sentiment is white and shiny. If it is still a little dull, apply more heat to that spot.

Allow the Embossed sentiment to cool completely for about 10 minutes, then gently use the microfiber cloth to remove the white residue. Set this aside for the time being.

Lay the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS in a landscape orientation. Use the Memento Black ink to stamp the sentiment “Trick-or-Treat” in the center of the bottom. Turn the card piece to a vertical orientation. Use the Memento to stamp the spider crawling along the side. Set aside.

I usually recommend stamping before cutting. However, I felt it was easier to put the ghost’s faces on after I punched them out. Punch one from each end first, then punch the one in the middle.

Use the Memento ink and the face from the Hippo Happiness stamp set to stamp the faces. I added a little bow to add some variety.

Fold the 4 1/4 x 11 inch Basic Black CS card base at the 5 1/2 inch score line. Use the Bone Folder to get a nice crisp fold. Adhere the black bat design from the Magic in This Night DSP to the card front.

Adhere the stamped 4 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS card piece to the inside.

Stampin’ Up! has white and black Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the white Dimensionals on the back of the ghosts, and the black Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment. Tip: If you cut the large Dimensionals in half they last longer and you still get a good effect.

Adhere the sentiment and the ghosts as shown.

Time for the Bling! I used the Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the Take Your Pick tool to embellish the background.

And Viola! You have a very fun and spooky card to wish someone a “Happy Halloween”! I know Halloween is going to be different this year. My youngest still wants a costume even though there will not be any house to house Trick-or-Treating. I hope folks can still find a way to have some fun!

Thanks for stopping by today. I feels good to be blogging again.

All of the supplies, except the Embossing Buddy, are available at my online store which you may access HERE, or you may click on any of the photos below to go directly to the store.

Sending Sunshine Stampin’ Up!®

The card for today will be a #simplestamping card because I will use only stamps, ink and paper (and a punch). There is a set of stamps made by Stampin’ Up! to help you easily create your own scenes. Sending Sunshine is the one I will use today. The other similar stamp sets are My Meadow and Snow Front. All of these sets are in the 2020-21 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

This really is a very simple card to create. You will be surprised.

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches (card base), 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches and 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches; Balmy Blue CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Use the Memento Black Ink to stamp the sentiment “Hoping Your Day is Perfect” onto the 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch Whisper White CS. Take care to position the stamped sentiment so that you can punch it out with the 2 inch Circle Punch.

Lay the layers of the card on the card front and position the sentiment. Move it slightly downward and trace the edge. This will help make sure that the scene is positioned properly.

Place the 2 3/4 x 3 2/4 inch Whisper White CS on the Stampin’ Pierce Mat. When using the Photopolymer stamps (the see-through ones) you need a slight cushion. You could also use your catalog. I cover my Pierce Mat with white scrap paper to avoid getting ink on it. I put the black paper down so you could see the card piece better. Stamp the smaller water onto the Whisper White CS. I placed mine slightly to the right so that it would not be covered by the sentiment later.

Apply the Daffodil Delight ink to the bottom portion of the setting sun stamp. Apply the Calypso Coral ink only to the upper portion by placing the stamp on the edge of the ink pad.

Carefully line up the setting sun and the horizon of the water. Mine is a little too high, but I opted to just let it be. (It’s the little imperfections that make a handmade card special!)

Use the Granny Apple Green ink to stamp the larger branch of leaves. Add some of the smaller branches to make the trees more full.

I added some faint clouds with the Balmy Blue ink by first stamping onto my scrap paper, then stamping onto the card piece. This is called Stamping Off.

To help the sentiment stand out a little, I used a Sponge Dauber with Balmy Blue ink to sponge the edge.

Adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Balmy Blue CS to the Whisper White CS card base, then adhere your stamped card piece. I prefer to use the Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue because when I first put the card piece down, I can wiggle it a little to make sure it is straight.

Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and put it in place on the card front being sure to cover the pencil marks.

The card is finished. However, if you would like to add a little Bling! you could use the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on the water to make it sparkle.

Viola! See how quick and simple that was! Experiment with different colors and combinations of the stamps from the Sending Sunshine stamp set, or combine it with the My Meadow or Snow Front. There are endless possibilities to the scenes you can create!

My thank you card was so much fun to make! I hope you enjoy it. Please remember to visit the Highlights Gallery and vote for me!

As I was looking through my collection of Stampin’ Up!® stamps sets, I saw that the Beautiful Moments and Inspiring Iris went together, so I decided to try and make a card using both. I also decided to use my favorite color- purple!

I stamped the women’s dress onto the Soft Sea Foam from the Subltles 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper and carefully cut it out to adhere over the women’s dress on the card front. I colored with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers in Highland Heather, Purple Posy,Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, and Soft Suede.

The Stampin’ Up!® Card Stock colors are: Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Whisper White. The measurements and instructions are found on my blog post from October 2, 2020 which you can see HERE.
