Stampin’ Up!® Heartfelt- Pop-Up Fun Fold

This Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Pop-Up Fun Fold is a cute 3 x3 inch Valentine’s card which is easy and fun to make.

Measurements

Measurements: Rococo Rose Card Stock (CS) card base: 3x 6 inches with a score line at 3 inches; Blushing Bride CS: 2 1/2 x 4 inches.

You will also need 4 scalloped hearts. Two Rococo Rose CS and two Brushing Bride CS hearts punched with the scalloped heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack.

Stamping

Start out stamping with the large sentiment heart. Stamp with the Rococo Rose ink onto the 2 1/2 x 4 inch Brushing Bride CS. Note: Be sure to use the Stampin’ Pierce mat or a catalog to get the best stamped image with the Photopolymer (see-through) stamps.

Next stamp the little lacey heart in Rococo Rose ink onto the center of the two Blushing Bride scalloped hearts. Continuing in the Rococo Rose ink, stamp the sentiment “Love You Lots” onto the center of the remaining Rococo Rose heart.

Scoring the Hearts

Set up the Trimmer to make score lines. Start by placing the right-hand edge on the 1/4 inch mark to the left of the center. Make a score line. Now move to the right so that the center of the heart is in place and score. Lastly, move the heart to the right again so that the left-hand edge is on the 1/4 inch mark and score. Repeat for all 3 hearts.

Each of the three hearts should look like this when you are finished scoring.

Putting It All Together

You will want to use a strong tape to adhere the pop-up portion of this card. I used the Tear & Tape that Stampin’ Up!® carries. The tape will be applied to the scalloped hearts as shown above.

To assemble the pop-up, start by using your Bone Folder on the center score line for the two Blushing Bride CS scalloped hearts. Remove the protective covering of the Tear & Tape on the Rococo Rose CS scalloped heart and lay it on the table face down. Adhere the Blushing Bride CS scalloped heart folded in half as shown on the right. Next adhere the other Blushing Bride CS scalloped heart on the left.

When you open it up it should look like this.

To continue to assemble the card pieces, use the Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the large sentiment heart piece to the remaining Rococo Rose CS scalloped heart.

The next step is to adhere the Square Vellum Doily. I just applied the glue to 3 small areas that will be covered with the scalloped heart.

To finish up the front, apply the Rococo Rose CS scalloped heart with the large sentiment heart stamped on it to the card front.

Installing the Pop-Up

To install the pop-up, first fold the pop-up heart in half as shown.

Lay the folded heart card piece onto the inside of the card as shown. Close the card and push firmly to adhere the pop-up to the inside.

When you open the card it will look like this!

Bling!

The Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels are perfect for this card. I added five to the front of the card. Note: An odd number of rhinestones is visually more appealing than an even number.

Voila! You have made a fun pop-up to wish someone special a Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thank you so much for visiting today. I hope you will try this out. I ended up making several with different colors of card stock.

Gilded Leafing Embellishment- More Techniques for Wacky Wednesday

Stampin’ Up!® Gilded Leafing Embellishment is so fun to use! I introduced the Gilded Leafing last Wednesday and showed a couple of ways to use it. Today I want to expand upon that blog by showing you a few more techniques for using the Gilded Leafing Embellishment.

This card is made using the Meant To Be and Heart to Heart stamp sets which are in the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. The Heart Punch Pack is also in the Annual Catalog.

Measurements

Measurements: Merry Merlot Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Very Vanilla CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches; Merry Merlot CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches; and Gold Foil Sheets: 1 x 5 inches.

You will also need 3 of the scalloped hearts from the Heart Punch Pack in Merry Merlot.

Additional products and supplies needed include: Versamark ink, a microfiber cloth, a quarter of a Stamping Sponge, a stiff paint brush, a spoon, and the Heat & Stick Powder .

And of course you will need the star of the show- the Gilded Leafing. I have gathered some tips from other demonstrators. One tip is to open the jar and put the Gilded Leafing in a larger container. I just used a container from the dollar store that is about 1/2 of a shoe box in size.

Gilded Leafing with Stamping

The first technique is going to be to use a stamp and the Heat & Stick powder to apply the Gilded Leafing. Stamp the sentiment “Happy Valentine’s Day” in Versamark. Use a spoon to sprinkle some of the Heat & Stick Powder over the sentiment. Shake off the excess. Tip: The size of the font on the sentiment cannot be too thin or much smaller than what I have used.

The next step is to use the Heat Tool to make the Heat & Stick Powder melt. When the white powder melts it turns dark.

Now you can put the heart face down into the Gilded Leafing. Press down slightly. When you pull it out it will have a lot of Gilded Leafing stuck to it.

I brushed of the large pieces with my fingers. (Now my finger tips are gold!) I followed that up with gentle strokes over the sentiment using the Stamping Sponge. Finally I used the microfiber cloth to remove all of the excess Gilded Leafing.

One more piece that requires stamping to apply the Gilded Leafing is the background. The small heart is from the Heart to Heart stamp set. Stamp the heart in Versamark onto the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Merry Merlot CS. Now apply the Heat & Stick power and use the Heat Tool.

Again place the CS with the sticky side face down into the Gilded Leafing and press slightly. Next remove the excess with your fingers, then a Stamping Sponge and finally the microfiber cloth.

Sponging and Gilded Leafing

This is a fun technique which will apply the Gilded Leafing to the edge of the heart. The first step is to apply the Versamark by Sponging it onto the edge. Gently flick the sponge over the edge of the heart. Tip: I cut up the Stamping Sponges until I get a wedge that is an eighth of the sponge. I label the sponge with a square of CS stapled to the top of the sponge wedge.

In order to apply the Gilded Leafing, you will be repeating the procedure described above for the stamping. First you apply the Heat & Stick Powder and use the Heat Tool to melt it. Then you place the heart face down in the Gilded Leafing. Lastly, remove the excess Gilded Leafing with the Stamping Sponge then the microfiber cloth. Now you have a really pretty border around the CS heart.

Gilded Leafing with the Versamark Pad

This time I used the pad of the Versamark to apply a layer of Versamark evenly over the whole heart.

I repeated the procedure above, namely, apply the Heat & Stick Powder, melt it with the Heat Tool, place face down in the container of Gilded Leafing, and remove the excess. Here is the final result! Now I have even more Gilded Leafing on my fingers and everywhere else! Not quite as bad as glitter though.

In summary, now you have a heart with the Gilded Leafing applied with a stamp, one with sponging and one using the whole pad of Versamark.

Putting It All Together

The first step in putting the card together is to adhere the Very Vanilla CS to the inside of the Merry Merlot CS card base. Next adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Merry Merlot CS to the front of the Merry Merlot CS card base. Use your Paper Snips to cut the banner end on the 1 x 5 inch strip of Gold Foil. Now apply Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the Gold Foil card piece and adhere it to the card front. The final step is to arrange the hearts as you like and adhere them to the Gold Foil. This is one version I came up with.

Here is the second version that has the Gold Foil strip on a diagonal and the hearts arranged in a cluster.

Viola! You have learned 3 more techniques to use with the Gilded Leafing and have versions of the card to try!

Thanks for coming by today. I hope you are able to experiment with the Gilded Leafing Embellishment soon. If you figure out any new ways to use the Gilded Leafing, please let me know in the comments.

Wacky Wednesday Technique- Use a Die-cut as a Stencil- Potted Succulents Dies by Stampin’ Up!®

Welcome to Wacky Wednesday! Today’s card is made using the Simply Succulents stamp set and Potted Succulents Dies by Stampin’ Up!. These products are found in the 2021 January-June Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog. I will be showing how to use one of the die-cuts as a stencil. We will be using the Sponging Technique also.

I just love how this lovely card turned out and it is fairly easy to do. The colors are some of the 2021-2023 In-Colors: Bumblebee, Magenta Madness and Just Jade.

Measurements

Measurements: Just Jade Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Basic White CS: two at 4 x 5 1/4 inches and 3 x 4 inches. You will need a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch piece of Thick Basic White CS to make the stencil with the die (not pictured).

Creating the Stencil

Here are all the lovely dies that come in the Potted Succulents Dies. The largest die is the one we will use to make our stencil.

First place the die on top of the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch Thick Basic White CS and center it. Use your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to cut out the stencil. Note: If you do not yet have an awesome Cut & Emboss Machine, there are 2 available. You will need the full-sized Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to be able to use this die. You can buy one HERE.

Preparing the Sponges

The Stamping Sponges come in a large circle. Use a big pair of scissors to first cut the sponge in half. Then cut the half in half to make a quarter. Finally cut the quarter in half to make an eighth. The next step is to put a square of the color of cardstock that matches the ink you will use that sponge for. You will not need to rinse the sponge out if you are only using it for one color.

I store my sponges in a compartmentalized craft box.

Stamping

In order to make the sentiment label, you will first stamp the sentiment “you’ve been on my mind” in Smoky Slate ink onto the upper portion of the 3 x 4 inch Basic White CS. Next use the two different label dies in the Potted Succulents Dies set to cut out the labels as shown. I love the stitching around the edges of the labels. It adds a nice touch.

Sponging

The first step here is to secure the stencil to a scrap piece of paper with the 4 x 5 1/2 inch Basic White CS card piece also secured to the stencil. The stencil is a little bit longer than the 5 1/4 inch length of the stencil, so I used some sticky note tape to create the bottom border on the card piece.

Remember that the stencil is paper and will rip if rubbed too harshly. Sponging requires a gentle touch. First daub the sponge on the Bumblebee ink pad. Then use a gentle small circular motion to put ink on the card piece. You will have a very light layer of ink to start and will gradually add to that until you like the results.

To continue sponging the stencil, switch to the Magenta Madness ink and then the Just Jade ink. I wanted a border of the Just Jade so I went around the edges of the entire stencil.

Carefully remove the sticky note tape and Viola! You have a stunning and beautiful card front! Now we will use the die cut again as a stencil for the inside of the card.

To stencil the inside of the card, secure the stencil with the sticky tape so that you will sponge on the right-hand border. Again start with the lightest color-the Bumblebee ink. Then add the Magenta Madness ink and finally the Just Jade ink.

Viola! Another stunning and beautiful card piece!

Putting It All Together

Begin to put the card together by adhering the inside card piece to the inside of the Just Jade CS card base. Now adhere the front card piece to the front of the Just Jade CS card base.

To complete the card, adhere the larger label to the card front. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the stamped sentiment “you’ve been on my mind” over the first larger label.

Viola! You have completed an awesome card! I usually like to add some Bling! to my cards, but I felt this one was fine without the Bling!

Thank you for stopping by today to learn this fun technique. I hope you give it a try. Don’t worry if you need to do this a few times before you like the result. The experimentation is part of the fun!

Stampin’ Up!® Meant To Be Fun Fold Friday

This Stampin’ Up!® Meant To Be Fun Fold Friday card is fun to make and to receive. This unique card is a great one to give as a Valentine to your sweetheart, or even to your Mom, best friend or sister!

Measurements

This card is super fun and uses some of the shiny new Love You Always Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Measurements: Very Vanilla Card Stock (CS) card base: 4 1/2 x 8 inches with a score line at 3 3/4 inches (score line is not in the center); Rococo Rose CS: 3 1/2 x 7 inches with a score line at 3 1/2 inches; Very Vanilla CS: 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches; Love You Always Specialty DSP: 3 1/2 x 4 inches and 4 x 4 inches.

Starting off

I would like to point out that the card base is not scored in the middle. There should be a 1/2 inch difference. Use your Bone Folder to make a nice crisp fold.

The next step is to adhere the Love You Always Specialty DSP. The inside piece is the 4 x 4 inch piece and the outside is the 3 1/2 x 4 inch piece.

Now we will make the Fun Fold piece by using the scalloped heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack to punch a heart out of the right-hand side of the Rococo Rose CS. Save the punched out heart for a later step. Tip: Be sure to push the Rococo Rose CS all the way into the punch to be able to punch the heart out in the position shown.

Stamping

Usually I do the stamping first, but in this case we needed to wait until the heart was punched out. Now it’s time to stamp! In order to coordinate the colors, but also make the ink dark enough, I chose the Merry Merlot ink to stamp the sentiment “Happy Valentine’s Day”.

Putting It All Together

In order to put this card together, you will first fold the Rococo Rose CS card piece on the score line with the open ends on the left; i.e., backwards. Next, center the Rococo Rose on the inside panel of the Very Vanilla CS card base. Close the front of the card to check to see that the card can close completely before adhering the Rococo Rose CS card piece. Adhere the Rococo Rose piece in place.

In preparation of completing the inside of the card, adhere the 2 3/4 inch square Very Vanilla CS to the center of the inside of the Rococo Rose card piece.

Now to complete the inside of the card, position the punched out heart with the Rococo Rose portion of the card closed. Adhere the heart in place. Open the front of the Rococo Rose card piece to ensure it does not get adhered.

Bling!

It is time to add some Bling! The Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels go really well with the shiny foil in the Love You Always Specialty DSP and the Rococo Rose CS. Tip: The Take Your Pick tool is great for transferring the rhinestones to your card. If you haven’t ordered one yet, click HERE.

Viola! You have a super cool Valentine’s Day Fun Fold to send off to someone special.

Stampin’ Up!® Heartfelt Valentine’s Day Greeting

I am so excited to share this Stampin’ Up!® Heartfelt Valentine’s Day Greeting card today. There are several Valentine’s Day stamp sets in the new 2021 Jan-June Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog, but the Heartfelt stamp set can be found in the 2020-21 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

I always seem to have the holidays sneak up on me. This year I want to send Valentine’s out to my friends and family to let them know how much I love them. The Stampin’ Up!® Heartfelt Valentine’s Day Greeting card is almost monochromatic with mostly Rococo Rose.

Measurements

Measurements: Very Vanilla Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Very Vanilla CS: 3 x 9 1/2 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches; Rococo Rose CS: 2 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches; 2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper (DSP): 2 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches; Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim: 7 1/4 inches and one bow.

Stamping

Starting with some Petal Pink ink, stamp the scalloped heart from the Heartfelt stamp set onto the end of the 3 x 9 1/2 inch Very Vanilla CS. Switching to the Rococo Rose ink stamp 2 of the scalloped heart. Note: Remember to use some padding under the Photopolymer (See-through) stamps to get the best image. I use the Stampin’ Pierce Mat.

Finish the stamping with the Rococo Rose ink by stamping the heart with the Happy Valentines Day sentiment onto the end of the Very Vanilla CS.

Punching

The next step is to punch the hearts out using both of the punches in the Heart Punch Pack. Use the smooth-edged heart for the stamped heart with the sentiment, and the scalloped heart punch for the scalloped stamped hearts.

Putting It All Together

First use the Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment heart to the Petal Pink colored scalloped heart. The scalloped edge barely shows but this makes the sentiment heart more elegant.

The next step is to adhere the 2 1/4 x 5 1/4 inch Rococo Rose CS to the top of the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Very Vanilla CS. Then you will adhere the Rococo Rose DSP to the bottom. The DSP will overlap the Rococo Rose CS a little.

Now adhere the Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim to the middle of the card by applying a glue dot to each end and adhering the trim to the back of the card. You may need a few glue dots underneath to keep the trim straight. I applied one glue dot to the center of the ribbon.

Begin putting the hearts on the front by using Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the 2 Rococo Rose scalloped hearts to the card front as shown.

Follow with the sentiment heart by placing one Stampin’ Dimension in the middle of the bottom, and use adhesive to adhere the sentiment heart over the center of the 2 scalloped hearts and a little below the 2 scalloped hearts.

To complete the card, use your Bone Folder to make a nice crisp fold along the 4 1/4 inch score line on the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch Very Vanilla CS card base. Now adhere the completed card front to the front of the Very Vanilla CS card base.

Bling!

And now for the finishing touch- Bling! The Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels look great with the Rococo Rose. I use the Take Your Pick tool to easily transfer the rhinestones from the acetate to the card.

Add the Very Vanilla Lace bow with a Glue Dot and then add the Champagne Rhinestones.

Viola! You have an elegant Valentine’s Greeting card to send to someone you love!

Sending Sunshine Stampin’ Up!®

The card for today will be a #simplestamping card because I will use only stamps, ink and paper (and a punch). There is a set of stamps made by Stampin’ Up! to help you easily create your own scenes. Sending Sunshine is the one I will use today. The other similar stamp sets are My Meadow and Snow Front. All of these sets are in the 2020-21 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

This really is a very simple card to create. You will be surprised.

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches (card base), 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches and 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches; Balmy Blue CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Use the Memento Black Ink to stamp the sentiment “Hoping Your Day is Perfect” onto the 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch Whisper White CS. Take care to position the stamped sentiment so that you can punch it out with the 2 inch Circle Punch.

Lay the layers of the card on the card front and position the sentiment. Move it slightly downward and trace the edge. This will help make sure that the scene is positioned properly.

Place the 2 3/4 x 3 2/4 inch Whisper White CS on the Stampin’ Pierce Mat. When using the Photopolymer stamps (the see-through ones) you need a slight cushion. You could also use your catalog. I cover my Pierce Mat with white scrap paper to avoid getting ink on it. I put the black paper down so you could see the card piece better. Stamp the smaller water onto the Whisper White CS. I placed mine slightly to the right so that it would not be covered by the sentiment later.

Apply the Daffodil Delight ink to the bottom portion of the setting sun stamp. Apply the Calypso Coral ink only to the upper portion by placing the stamp on the edge of the ink pad.

Carefully line up the setting sun and the horizon of the water. Mine is a little too high, but I opted to just let it be. (It’s the little imperfections that make a handmade card special!)

Use the Granny Apple Green ink to stamp the larger branch of leaves. Add some of the smaller branches to make the trees more full.

I added some faint clouds with the Balmy Blue ink by first stamping onto my scrap paper, then stamping onto the card piece. This is called Stamping Off.

To help the sentiment stand out a little, I used a Sponge Dauber with Balmy Blue ink to sponge the edge.

Adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Balmy Blue CS to the Whisper White CS card base, then adhere your stamped card piece. I prefer to use the Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue because when I first put the card piece down, I can wiggle it a little to make sure it is straight.

Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and put it in place on the card front being sure to cover the pencil marks.

The card is finished. However, if you would like to add a little Bling! you could use the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on the water to make it sparkle.

Viola! See how quick and simple that was! Experiment with different colors and combinations of the stamps from the Sending Sunshine stamp set, or combine it with the My Meadow or Snow Front. There are endless possibilities to the scenes you can create!

Beautiful Autumn Harvest Blessings Stampin’ Up!®

Even though it is still in the lower 90’s (degrees F) I am anxiously anticipating the cooler weather–soon I hope! I am in the mood for Autumn so I have been making cards with that theme.

The Autumn Punch Pack consists of two leaf punches which I used for the wreath on this lovely autumn card. There is also an acorn punch in the Punch Pack. The sentiment is from an awesome stamp set called Country Home. I have made many cards with this sentiment.

Measurements: Very Vanilla Card Stock (CS): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch card base with a score line at 4 1/4 inches and 3/4 x 3 inches; Bumble Bee CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches; Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper: one panel; scraps that measure at least 1 1/2 x 3 inches in Mango Melody CS, Cajun Craze CS, Pumpkin Pie CS and the Brushed Metal 12 x 12 inch CS in the copper and the gold. You will also need one of the Gold Hoops Embellishments and two of the Acorn Trinkets (not shown).

Stamp the sentiment “Happy harvest Blessings” in Cajun Craze ink onto the 3/4 x 3 inch Very Vanilla CS.

Punch the leaves out with the Autumn Punch Pack leaf punches. I punched out 3 of each of the colors of scrap CS with a mixture of the two leaf types.

The easiest way to adhere the leaves to the card is with the Mini Glue Dots. I stick the end of the leaf onto the Mini Glue Dot right on the roll. When I am ready to use the leaf, I just carefully peel it off of the sheet.

Use the Bone Folder to make a crisp fold at the 4 1/4 inch score line on the Very Vanilla CS card base. Adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Bumble Bee CS and then the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper panel. To adhere the gold panel, I applied the Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue around the perimeter very sparingly. Adhere the Gold Hoop Embellishment by applying the Liquid Glue to the back sparingly. Put in place on the card front and apply pressure by placing something like a large punch on top to weight it down for 5 minutes.

Start by applying two Gold Brushed Metallic CS oak leaves slightly to the left of center on the Gold Hoop.

Add one leaf at a time behind the oak leaves. Use a mixture of the colors and different leaf types. Go as far as is pleasing to you.

Cut a banner end on the sentiment card piece. Apply the sentiment to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add a leaf if desired on the end of the sentiment.

This is a little difficult to see. I used the gold twine in the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack to make two bows. The twine was tied onto the two Acorn Trinkets before tying the bow.

To adhere the Acorn Trinkets and bows, use the Mini Glue Dots. Transfer two Mini Glue Dots with the Take Your Pick Tool and place them at the base of the gold oak leaves. Adhere the bow with the Acorn Trinkets, then apply another Mini Glue Dot and adhere the second gold twine bow. NOTE: This card will not be able to be mailed in a standard envelope because the trinkets are too large. You will need to mail it in a bubble envelope.

Now for the Bling! I added the Mango Melody sequins from the Artistry Blooms Sequins. They are very subtle but do add a little more sparkle to the card. Tip: Use the Take Your Pick tool to transfer the sequins-much easier. If you do not yet have the Take Your Pick tool, you can use a toothpick.

Viola! There you have a shiny golden leaf wreath for Autumn!

Thank you for viewing my blog today. Please “like” my blog and leave a comment to let me know what you think. And remember to mail this one in a bubble envelope because of the Acorn Trinkets.

Designer Series Paper sale is coming! From October 1-31, 2020 many of the Designer Series Papers will be 15% off! Stock up and save!

Posted in 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog, Animals, beginner stamper, encouragement, Fun/Fancy fold card, Love/Affection, Stampin" Blends Alcohol Markers

Friday Fun-fold: Playful Pampered Pets sending loving thoughts

This funtastic Pampered Pets stamp set is perfect for the dog or cat lover! This card is for my daughter who has both a dog and three cats.

This is a very common and easy fun-fold with a slight variation to make it more interesting. I turned the Real Red Card Stock (CS) that goes behind the stamped puppy card piece to make it diamond-shaped.

Measurements: Real Red CS card base is 4 1/4 x 11 inches with score lines at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 inches; Real Red CS: 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches; Whisper White CS: 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches; Playful Pets Designer Series Paper (DSP): 2 1/2 x 4 inches.

With Memento Black ink stamp the puppy onto the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Whisper White CS. Tip: We will be coloring with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers and the Memento ink will not bleed.

Stamp the sentiment “I hope your day is a real treat” in Memento ink onto the lower right hand corner of the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS. Add the little pet food bowl and then the hearts.

The Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Marker colors are: Light Basic Black and Light and Dark: Smoky Slate, Flirty Flamingo and Real Red. I also used the Real Red Stampin’ Write marker that is part of the Regals Assortment for the collar and dog’s mouth.

First color with the Stampin’ Blends Light Basic Black to accentuate the edges and shadows. Add the Dark Smoky Slate and blend it into the Light Basic Black.

Blend in the Light Smoky Slate. Tip: When blending the light color into the darker colors, use a small circular motion. I added a little Light Flirty Flamingo to the belly, ear and nose.

Color the mouth and collar with the Stampin’ Write Real Red Marker. The tip is finer so it is easier to put the ink just where you want it. Add a little Basic Black ink to the nose.

Color in the hearts with the Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend and add a slight shadow on the right hand side of each heart with the Dark Flirty Flamingo. The pet food bowl is colored with the Light Real Red Stampin’ Blend on one half, and the Dark Real Red on the other half.

Take the Real Red CS card base and use your Bone Folder to make a Z-fold as shown.

Adhere the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Playful Pets DSP to the front panel of the Z-fold. Adhere the sentiment card piece to the inside.

Apply adhesive to half of the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Real Red “diamond-shape” and apply to the front panel over the Playful Pets DSP. Be mindful of the placement so that the sentiment shows completely when the card is closed.

Apply adhesive to the colored puppy card piece and adhere it to the Real Red diamond-shaped card piece. Be mindful of the lower right corner so that it does not cover the sentiment.

Viola! This card is a playful fun-fold that was pretty quick to make! I hope my daughter gets hers in the mail before this blog posts!

Stamping on Designer Series Paper with Forever Fern Wishing You Happiness

These beautiful colorful cards are so easy to make! The leaves come from the Forever Fern stamp set and the sentiments are from So Sentimental. Both of these sets are so versatile. The So Sentimental has several great sentiments in addition to those in the photo, including “hello baby”, “healing hugs”, “for you”, and “this calls for confetti”.

Here is the card I will demonstrate today. The colors are Magenta Madness, Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss and Balmy Blue.

Measurements: Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches: Whisper White CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches and 2 1/2 x 3 inches; Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP): 4 x 5 1/4 inches; and Balmy Blue CS: 2 5/8 x 3 1/8 inches.

Stamp the sentiment “Wishing you much happiness today and always” from the So Sentimental stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink onto the 2 1/2 x 3 inch Whisper White CS. Then use the Blackberry Bliss ink and the largest bunch of leaves from the Forever Fern stamp set and stamp the leaves to frame the sentiment. Be sure to use a scrap paper underneath so you don’t stamp on your table! Our nickname for Blackberry Bliss is Blackberry Mess!

Next use the Balmy Blue ink to stamp a smaller bunch of flowers on the upper left corner, and the Magenta Madness ink to stamp the berry design on the lower right corner of the sentiment. This creates a little frame around the sentiment.

Use the Blackberry Bliss ink and the larger bunch of leaves to stamp onto the Artistry Blooms DSP. I tried to visualize where the sentiment will be and use that as a focal point for the end of the stems.

Next use the Magenta Madness ink to stamp the berry design, and the Balmy Blue ink to stamp the smaller bunch of leaves. I continued to use the focal point for the ends of the stems. On some I turned the stamp around and stamped with the stem off the edge of the paper to fill in the blank spots.

I wanted to make the inside a little more fancy. I started on the top of the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS with the Blackberry Bliss ink and the large bunch of leaves, and worked down the right side. I used the Balmy Blue ink with the small bunch of leaves and then the Magenta Madness with the berry design on the bottom.

Adhere the stamped Whisper White CS panel to the inside of the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch Rich Razzleberry CS card base. Use you Bone Folder to fold the card base at the 4 1/4 inch score line so you get a nice crisp fold.

Adhere the stamped sentiment card piece to the 2 5/8 x 3 1/8 inch Balmy Blue CS. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals or the new Foam Adhesive Sheets on the back. Tip: If you have arthritis in you fingers, I have found that cutting the Adhesive Sheets into 1/4 inch strips is much easier to use than the little hexagonal Stampin’ Dimensionals. I just have a hard time peeling of the backs of those hexagons!

Adhere the stamped DSP to the front of the Rich Razzleberry card base, then add the sentiment card piece to the middle of the front.

And now for some Bling! I am so in love with the Artistry Blooms Self Adhesive Sequins Pack because there are 4 colors with 2 different sizes! They go with just about everything! To easily transfer the sequin I use the Take Your Pick tool. I slide the pointed end under the adhesive on the back of the sequin and than just set it down where I want it, apply a little pressure, and it sticks in place.

Viola! You have stamped on Designer Series Paper to make a wonderful, colorful card to wish some happiness to someone!

I really appreciate that you stopped by today. I hope you enjoyed the card and will give it a try. Experiment with different papers and stamps to see what you like. There are so many possiblities!

Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge # 249-No Patterned Paper

Hello and Welcome to the Cardsz 4 Guyz Challenge #249- No Patterned Paper.

This card was the #1 Winner in the Top # for the Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge!

A Good Man and Summer Days stamp sets by Stampin’ Up® make for a great pair for this Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge. This turned out to be an avid stamper type card.

I just love this quiet and peaceful moment between the man and the girl.

I decided to try something a little different and make a scene inside the card that could be seen outside the card through an oval die cut.

In order to do a Partial Die Cut to leave the little girl uncut, I came up with a novel idea. I made a smaller plate to use in my Big Shot. I took an old cracked plate and had my son cut it at 3 1/2 inches. He then filed the rough surface and rounded the corners. I am calling this “Theresa’s Small Cutting Plate”.

I adhered the front panel with the stamped man and girl to the Poppy Parade Card Stock (CS) card base with repositional tape, then placed the oval die cut on the front panel. I used sticky note tape to hold the oval in place and a Sharpie to mark the area I did not want to cut (from the top of the man’s head to his pant leg). The Big Shot sandwich from bottom to top is: Magnetic Plate, Cutting Plate, Card Stock, Oval Die cutting surface side down and finally Theresa’s Small Cutting Plate. I placed Theresa’s Small Cutting Plate as shown before running it through the Big Shot. It will only get cut where the plate covers the CS.

Here is what it looks like after running the sandwich through the Big Shot. The rest of the girl was fussy cut.

I cut an oval out of the middle of a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch sheet of Gina K. Masking Magic paper to mask the inside of the card. I sponged the sunset with the following Stampin’ Up! inks: Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Terracotta Tile and Poppy Parade. I used the Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers to color the images. The Stampin’ Blend colors used are: Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Misty Moonlight, Purple Posy. Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo. I used the light and the dark Stampin’ Blend for each color except the Flirty Flamingo. I only used the light Stampin’ Blend for that one.
