Happy Birthday Cake

Hello fellow stampers! Today I have a wonderful Birthday cake card for you!

This is the second in a series of 3 cake cards and is made with Stampin’ Up!’s Piece of Cake stamp set. Let’s get started!

Measurements: Whisper White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches folded at 4 1/4 inches, Flirty Flamingo 5 1/4 x 4 inches, Whisper White 3 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches and 3 x 1/2 inches. You will also need one of the Pearlized Doilies.

I will be using the Flirty Flamingo and Smoky Slate ink pads and the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers in Dark Flirty Flamingo, Light Mango Melody and Light Smoky Slate. I will also use Memento ink (not pictured).

The first stamp is the little bunch of swirled lollipops. Who remembers getting those at the State Fair as a kid? I do! Stamp the lollipops in different directions all around the Flirty Flamingo card piece. Keep in mind that a small heart will need to fit in between the lollipops, so do not stamp them too close together. Tip: Remember to use the Stampin’ Pierce Mat for the Photopolymer stamps

Now use the small heart to fill in between the lollipops. This is the background for your card, your own Designer Series Paper!

Adhere this to the Whisper White card base.

The cake platter is stamped in Smoky Slate. Stamp towards the bottom so there is enough room for cake and candles.

Stamp the cake in Flirty Flamingo.

And now the candles in Flirty Flamingo.

I used the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker to color the icing.

Now color the candles in Dark Flirty Flamingo.

For the flames I used the Light Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker.

The shadow on the platter is done in the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker.

Using Memento ink, stamp the “Happy Birthday” sentiment onto the Whisper White strip on the right hand side.

Cut a banner end first by cutting the middle, then from each corner to the middle.

Apply the Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the cake.

Place the doily slightly to the right and adhere to the Flirty Flamingo card piece. Adhere the cake piece on top of the doily.

Apply the Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the “Happy Birthday” sentiment strip.

Adhere the “Happy Birthday” sentiment strip to the right side of the card front.

And now you have a wonderful Happy Birthday card! That went by so quickly, don’t you think? Remember how special it feels for someone to remember your birthday? Pass that feeling on to someone today and give them this card!
