Retiring Stamp Sets- Painted Harvest

The new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog for 2020-2021 will be mailed out on May 8, 2020. If you would like a copy, shoot me an email at theresastreasures.az@gmail.com. There are many products that will be retiring and some are now at a great discount. Check the “Last Chance Products” tab in the left hand column at my online store here.

This card started off as a Color Challenge I wanted to be in. A Color Challenge is when someone gives you one or more colors to use in a card. You can create whatever you want. The inspiration also came from wanting to use the retiring stamp sets once more.

Today I mainly used the Painted Harvest stamp set. However, the sentiment is from Piece of Cake and the bee is from Honey Bee.

Measurements: Whisper White Card stock (CS): 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches, 4 1/4 x 3 inches, 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches and a 3 x 1/2 inch strip: Lovely Lipstick CS: 5 7/8 x 4 1/8 inches; and Blushing Bride CS: 4 1/4 x 3 inches.

The Painted Harvest stamp is Two Step Stamp. This means that there are two slightly different stamps that are intended to be stamped on top of one another. These are the two stamps for the sunflower. I am starting with the less detailed stamp on the left.

Stamp three of the sunflowers in a cascade down the 4 1/4 x 3 inch Whisper White CS using Blushing Bride ink.

Switch to the other more detailed stamp of the sunflower. Use Lovely Lipstick ink to stamp right on top of the Blushing Bride flowers.

Using the same detailed sunflower, stamp in Lovely Lipstick along the outside borders of the Lovely Lipstick CS. I call this Tone on Tone because you use the same color for the paper and the ink.

Use Soft Suede ink to stamp the center of the sunflowers.

The leaf is also a Two Step Stamp. I have tried stamping with the more detailed leaf or with the less detailed leaf first. For this stamp I think it is easier to line up the stamps when I start with the more detailed leaf and finish with the less detailed leaf stamp.

Stamp the sentiment “Happy Birthday” and the bee on the corresponding Whisper White CS in Memento ink.

Color the stripes on the bee with the Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Write Marker. Fussy cut the bee (or if you have the Detailed Bee Dies you can cut the bee out with the die).

Trim the sentiment “Happy Birthday” and then we will make a banner end. Make a small center cut.

Now make a cut from one corner to the top of the center cut. Repeat on the other side.

Make another banner on the other end of the sentiment strip.

Use the Bone Folder to get a nice crisp fold at the 4 1/4 inch score line on the 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch Whisper White CS. This is the card base. Adhere the Lovely Lipstick background card piece to the front of the card base.

Adhere the 4 1/4 x 3 inch Blushing Bride CS at a slant on top of the Lovely Lipstick background. Now adhere the sunflower card piece parallel to the Lovely Lipstick card piece.

Oops! I got some Soft Suede ink in the wrong place. This happens when the edge of the clear block gets inked. No worries. You can always fix this with either a sentiment over the top or Bling. I put the “Happy Birthday” right over the mistake and no one is the wiser!

Add the cute little bee and Viola! You have a wonderful Birthday card ready to go!

Thanks so much for coming by today! I wish you a great day and hope you are well and safe!

Garden Birthday with Layered with Kindness

As you may have noticed from my last Blog post, I have been learning to participate in a Blog Hop. I think I finally have it working if you would like to check it out. After you scroll through my portion there will be a list of names. Click on the name and visit their Blog. You can get a lot of great ideas from a Blog Hop.

Today’s card is a Birthday card. I have 6 people in my family with Birthdays in May! I need to stock up on Birthday cards. This card can be made with any Designer Series Paper (DSP). I am using Garden Lane DSP from the 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.

I made this card with the Layered With Kindness stamp set by Stampin’ Up!® and the coordinating punch.

Measurements: Garden Green Card stock (CS): 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches, 8 1/2 x 3 inches and 5 x 3 inches; Garden Lane DSP: 5 1/4 x 4 inches and 4 x 3 inches; and Whisper White CS: 4 x 3 inches and 5 x 3 inches.

The first step is to stamp the “Happy Birthday” sentiment in Memento onto the 5 x 3 inch Whisper White CS. Set aside.

Stamp the leaves in Garden Green ink onto the right hand side of the 4 x 3 inch Whisper White CS.

Now stamp the little flower in Petal Pink ink.

Stamp several flowers.

Stamp the single leaf several times in Garden Green ink.

Adhere the 5 1/4 x 4 inch Garden Lane DSP to the 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch Garden Green CS.

Fold the 8 1/2 x 3 inch Garden Green in half at 4 1/4 inches and use the Bone Folder to make the fold nice and crisp.

Adhere the 4 x 3 inch Garden Lane DSP to the front of the folded Garden Green CS.

The floral card piece will go inside the folded Garden Green CS piece.

Adhere the floral card piece.

Adhere the back of the Garden Green folded card piece to the front of the Garden Lane DSP on the 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch piece of Garden Green CS.

Use the Label Me Lovely punch to cut out the “Happy Birthday” sentiment and then punch another label out of the 5 x 3 inch Garden Green CS.

Adhere the two labels together with the Garden Green label slightly to the right of the “Happy Birthday” label.

Adhere some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the “Happy Birthday” label on the half behind the “H” and the “B”.

Adhere to the card front with the right edge hanging off a little.

Now for some Bling! I used the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels and applied them with the Take Your Pick tool.

Slide the pick under the adhesive on the rhinestone and transfer it to where you want it on the card. Apply slight pressure to the rhinestone and slide the pick out from underneath. Tip: If you do not have a pick tool, try a toothpick.

Add as many rhinestones as you like, keeping with an odd number. An odd number is more pleasing to the eye.

And Viola! You have a really nice Birthday Card that folds in a new and fun way. (This type of card is called a Fun Fold or Fancy Fold).

Product List

I am so glad you joined me today. This is a great card to use any designed paper you may have around. You can easily substitute another sentiment, and if you do not have any punches, just make the sentiment a square. I am going to make a few more in different colors so I can get them mailed out to my family soon!

Birthday Balloon Bling – Layered with Kindness

Well hello again! Great to have you visiting my blog. Today I created a very simple Birthday card with a lot of rhinestone bling and balloons!

This is a really tough time for us all, being stuck at home and not being able to hug each other for support. My goal was to create a sunny, happy card today. I love the way it turned out!

The Stampin’ Up! Layered With Kindness stamp set has a great Happy Birthday sentiment. There is a coordinating Label Me Lovely Punch to make it very fancy.

Measurements: Whisper White Card stock (CS): 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches with a score at 4 1/4 inches and a 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch piece to stamp on; Daffodil Delight CS: 5 1/4 x 4 inches; Grapefruit Grove CS: 4 1/2 x 2 3/4 inches; Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper (DSP):4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches; and Terracotta Tile CS: 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.

Stamp the “Happy Birthday” sentiment in Terracotta Tile ink onto the 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch piece of Whisper White CS. Use the Label Me Lovely Punch to punch the stamped image out.

Punch out a Lovely Label using the 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch piece of Terracotta Tile CS.

Cut the label in half diagonally from one corner to the other as shown.

Adhere the Terracotta Tile label to the “Happy Birthday” sentiment piece leaving just a small border on the top of the sentiment label. Tip: I use the Silicon Craft Sheet for gluing to keep the glue off of my table.

Now add the bottom half of the Terracotta Tile label to the sentiment label. Trim any edges as needed. Set aside.

Adhere the Grapefruit Grove piece to the balloons from the Birthday Bonanza DSP.

Cut a 4 inch piece of the Daffodil Delight 1/4 inch Ruched Ribbon. Apply a Glue Dot to each end.

Position the ribbon, then flip and push on the Glue Dots to adhere it in place.

Use the Bone Folder to get a nice crisp fold at the 4 1/4 inch score line on the 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch Whisper White CS to make the card base. Adhere the 5 1/4 x 4 inch Daffodil Delight CS to the front of the card base.

Apply Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the balloon piece.

Adhere the balloon piece to the card front, slightly to the right of center.

Apply a Stampin’ Dimensional to the back of the “Happy Birthday” piece behind the “Birth” side of the piece. Apply Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Snail Adhesive tape to the “Day” side.

Adhere the sentiment label to the left upper portion of the card front.

Tie a bow with the Daffodil Delight 1/4 inch Ruched Ribbon and apply a Glue Dot to the back.

Adhere the bow to the card front.

Now add the Bling! Put as many Rhinestones as you desire. I ended up using 9 rhinestones! Tip: Use the Take Your Pick tool for transferring the rhinestones from the package to the card.

And Viola! You have a bright, cheery Birthday Balloon with Bling! card to send to someone!

As I said earlier, this is a tough time. It is so important to stay optimistic. Crafting is a way to stay positive and then spread that positive feeling to someone else by sending them the card you make. I did a challenge for myself since I had many cards stashed away. I decided to send a card to someone each day for 30 days. It was a great way to get my cards out to someone and hopefully spread some hope and joy!

Sale-a-bration is winding down. The best deal of the year will only be available until March 31, 2020. There are many FREE products to choose from when you place a $50 order at my Stampin’ Up! Online Store. Click on the Stampin’ Up! Online store to connect directly to my store.

More Fun with Bonanza Buddies

The Birthday Bonanza Suite is just so much fun! I made another card I think you will enjoy. You will see how doable this is if you go step by step.

Sale-a-bration is going on until the end of March. If you purchase the Birthday Bonanza Suite, you can choose a free Sale-a-bration item! If you add on a package of Whisper White Card stock, 2 ink pads and a bottle of Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue, you can choose 2 free items!

Now to start to make this card!

Measurements: Whisper White card stock (CS): 11 x 4 1/4 inches scored at 5 1/2 inches, 5 x 3 3/4 inches and 4 x 2 inches; Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper (DSP): 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches and a 3 3/4 x 1 1/4 inch strip of the birthday candle design; and Bermuda Bay CS: 5 x 2 1/2 inches.

Stamp the koala bear in Smoky Slate ink onto the 4 x 2 inch Whisper White CS to the right. You will need your Stampin’ Pierce mat or a catalog to stamp on since this is a Photopolymer stamp.

Use the Memento ink to stamp the toucan and the eyes and nose for the koala.

Finish the toucan by stamping the beak in Mango Melody ink.

Fussy cut the koala and toucan with your paper snips. If you do have a Big Shot or other die cutting machine, use the Bonanza Dies.

Adhere the strip of birthday candles to the bottom of the 5 x 3 3/4 inch Whisper White CS. Position the 1 1/2 inch circle punch as shown to make the bottom port hole.

Position the same punch as shown to make the top port hole.

Continuing with the 1 1/2 inch circle punch, punch 2 circles from the Bermuda Bay CS leaving space around the circle.

Use the 1 3/4 inch circle punch to cut a rim around the smaller circle. This will create a piece to accent the “port holes”.

Tip: To apply the Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue to small pieces I use a set of tweezers. That way I do not get (too much) glue on my fingers. It is very easy to position the piece and lay it down without getting glue everywhere.

Now use the Coastal Cabana ink to stamp the sentiment “Happy Birthday” in the upper right corner. Also stamp the square present as shown leaving room to stamp other presents around it. Stamp a square present on a piece of sticky note. Tip: It is easiest to use a full sticky note. Stamp the bow for the square present in Bermuda Bay ink.

Fussy cut the present on the sticky note with your paper snips and use it to cover the present that is stamped on the card front. This is a mask for the Masking Technique.

Stamp the rectangular present in Calypso Coral partially over the masked present. Stamp another onto the sticky note paper. You will use this as a mask too. Stamp the bow for the rectangular present in Cajun Craze ink.

Fussy cut the rectangular present and apply it over the rectangular present on the card front.

Stamp the rectangular present again but turn it vertically. Use Mango Melody ink for the present and Coastal Cabana for the bow.

Remove all the masks. Now you have a pile of presents!

Fold the 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch Whisper White CS at the 5 1/2 inch score line and use the Bone Folder to make the fold crisp. Adhere the 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inch piece of the Birthday Bonanza DSP to the card front.

Prepare to adhere the stamped port hole piece by applying Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back.

Adhere the stamped port hole piece to the card front.

Apply a Stampin’ Dimensional to the back of the head of the koala and toucan.

Apply adhesive to the feet of the koala and toucan and place them so they are peeking out of the port holes.

And Viola! You have an adorable birthday card with these cute animals again! See the post before the previous post for another card with the Bonanza Buddies Stamp set.

Thanks for visiting my blog. This blog is geared toward the beginner with an occasional more difficult card. This card would be a more difficult card since it requires more ink colors and uses the Masking Technique.

I hope you enjoyed this card. I had a fun time making it. Remember that during Sale-a-bration, which is until March 31, 2020, you may choose free product when you make a $50 or a $100 order. Today there are new products to choose from as well as the products that came out in the first release. Check out the details at my online store here.

Bonanza Buddies Birthday

My kids are all grown and I can remember each birthday. One theme was mermaids. Another was NASCAR. Each child sure had their own idea for the birthday party. It was loads of fun! The Birthday Bonanza Suite brings back memories of a circus birthday theme one of my kids had.

This is a lighthearted card made with the Bonanza Buddies Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!. And making this card is really very simple.

Measurements: Whisper White Card stock (CS) 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches scored at 4 1/4 inches, 3 x 2 1/2 inches and 2 1/4 x 1 1/4 inches; Bermuda Bay CS 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches and 5 3/8 x 1 1/2 inches; Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper (DSP) 5 1/4 x 4 inches and
5 3/8 x 1 1/4 inches.

You will also need a piece of the Birthday Bonanza DSP with a toucan and balloons. Let’s get started!

Tip: The Bonanza Buddies is a Photopolymer stamp set so you will need the Stampin’ Pierce Mat to get the best image. Use Bermuda Bay ink to stamp the sentiment “Happy Birthday” onto the 2 1/4 x 1 1/4 inch piece of Whisper White CS.

The lion is a Two-Step Stamp. I tried stamping the mane first, then the lion’s body first and felt that it was easier to stamp the mane first. Use Mango Melody ink to stamp the lions mane and tail. Next use the Daffodil Delight ink to stamp the lion’s body by lining up the lions face with the mane and the tail with the tail tuft.

Use the Smoky Slate ink to stamp the koala bear. Next use the Memento ink to stamp the two different faces on to the respective animals.

Fussy cut the lion and koala bear. If you do have a Big Shot you can use the Bonanza Dies to cut the animals out.

Fussy cut the toucan and balloons from the Bonanza Birthday DSP.

Fold the 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch Whisper White CS on the 4 1/4 inch score line and use the Bone Folder to get a nice crisp fold. This is your card base.

Adhere the 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inch Bermuda Bay CS to the front of the Whisper White card base.

Adhere the 5 3/8 x 1 1/4 inch Birthday Bonanza DSP to the 5 3/8 x 1 1/2 inch Bermuda Bay CS. Now adhere the strip to the card front as shown.

Trim the sentiment banner about 1/4 inch. Make a small cut in the center of the right side in preparation of cutting a banner edge.

Make a cut from the top corner to the end of the center cut. Do the same for the bottom corner. Viola! This is the easy way to make a centered banner end.

Apply Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the animals and the sentiment banner. Tip: To make the Dimensionals last longer, cut them in half.

Adhere the animals and the sentiment banner to the card front.

Viola! You are now ready to send off a cheery circus themed card to a special young one!

Thanks for joining me today for this wonderful birthday card. This set is so much fun! I will show another card I made with this stamp set at the end of the week. Please join me then.

Butterfly Birthday

Butterflies are so beautiful! Fortunately, Stampin’ Up! has many butterfly stamps.!

This card was made for a color challenge which included Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and Pear Pizzazz.

The stamped images all came from this stamp set Butterfly Wishes. There are many additional butterflies in the set which could be stamped on different cards. I love the sentiment “It was a perfect day because of you” but today I wanted to do a Birthday card.

Measurements: Cardstock: Whisper White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch card base with a score at 4 1/4 inches; Whisper White: 3 7/8 x 1 7/8 inches and 2 1/4 x 3/4 inches; Balmy Blue: 5 x 3 7/8 inches, 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches and 4 x 1 inch; and Highland Heather: 5 1/2 x 4 inches and 4 x 2 inches.

Additional supplies: Butterfly Duet Punch. Ink: Memento and Pear Pizzazz; Stampin’ Blend: Light Highland Heather; Clear Blocks A, B, C, and E; 8 inches of the 5/8 inch Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon; Bone Folder; Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals and Glue Dots.

Use Memento ink to stamp the sentiment “Birthday Wishes” onto the 2 1/4 x 3/4 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Use Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp the floral branch onto the 3 7/8 x 1 7/8 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp the 2 different sizes of butterflies in Memento ink onto the 4 x 1 inch piece of Balmy Blue cardstock. You will need 2 of the smaller butterfly. Tip: Space the 2 small butterflies apart by a couple of inches so the punch won’t ruin one. Stamp the larger butterfly in Memento ink onto the 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch piece of the Balmy Blue cardstock.

This is the Butterfly Duet punch.

Punch out the larger butterfly and the 2 smaller butterflies. Tip: I find it easiest to place the punch upside down on the table, position the image, and then use the heel of my hand to punch firmly and quickly. After you position the image, close the punch just enough to hold it in place before you actually punch it.

Use the light Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Marker to color the flowers on the floral branch.

I decided that the sentiment was a little too long so I cut off 1/4 inch from each end.

Use the Bone Folder to make the fold on the card base nice and neat.

Adhere the 5 x 3 7/8 inch Balmy blue to the 5 1/4 x 4 inch Highland Heather. Adhere the floral branch piece to the 4 x 2 inch Highland Heather.

Adhere the layers to the card base. All are adhered flat.

Adhere Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the backs of the butterflies and the “Birthday Wishes” sentiment. I cut my Dimensionals in half to fit the smaller butterflies.

Adhere the sentiment to the card front. And then adhere the butterflies.

Tie a bow with the Polka Dot Tulle. Note: This stuff sticks to itself. Stay calm and just keep adjusting the bow until you like it. If one is to far gone from messing with it, throw it away and try again. Just speaking from experience! If you need help with the bow tying watch the video on my blog at https://wordpress.com/block-editor/post/theresas-treasures.com/657

And there you have a very nice Butterfly Birthday card!

I also made one with different colors. I used Crumb Cake and Terracota Tile.with the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend.

Thank you to all of you who ordered products and attended my classes. The Summer Promotion to win the Free as A Bird Stamp set, Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, 3/8 inch Scalloped Lace Trim, Flower Faceted Gems, Memento ink and clear block went to Amanda T.

Fancy Fold Bird Birthday Card

Hello everyone! Today I have a fun fancy fold card. You will be surprised to see how easy this awesome card is to make! It folds flat to fit in a standard A2 envelope. Currently I am visiting family for a wedding in Raleigh, North Carolina. I think this card could easily be changed to a wedding card if needed.

Measurements: 8 x 4 1 /4 inch Petal Pink card stock scored at 1 1/4, 2 1/2, 5 1/2 and 6 3/4 inches.

Additional paper needed: 4 x 2 3/4 inch of Basic Black; 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 inch and 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch of Very Vanilla; two 4 x 1 inch pieces of the Bird Ballad Designer Series paper in the floral print and 5 1/2 x 1 1/4 inch piece in the polka dot print; 5 1/2 x 1 1/4 inch of Petal Pink.

You will also need Memento ink, Stampin’ Up! Petal Pink ink and Stampin’ Up! Soft Sea Foam.

I used the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers in : Light Petal Pink, Light and Dark Seaside Spray, Light Crumb Cake, Light Daffodil Delight and Light Granny Apple Green.

Here’s how to make this wonderful card. First fold the card base as shown above.

The following images are from Stampin’ Up!’s Free As A Bird stamp set. Using the Stamp Off Technique, stamp the leaves with the Sea Foam ink onto the 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 inch piece of Very Vanilla. This means you will first stamp onto a scrap of paper, then onto the card piece. This gives a faded image which is good since we will be stamping a sentiment over it.

Use the Stamp Off Technique again in the Petal Pink ink to stamp the flowers around the leaves.

Use the Memento ink to stamp the sentiment over the leaves and flowers. The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is from Stampin’ Up!s Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. Set this aside.

Stamp the single bird in Memento ink onto the inch piece of Very Vanilla. Gather your alcohol markers.

Use the Light Daffodil Delight to color the beak and feet. Then use the Light Petal Pink to color the birds breast.

Using gentle brush strokes and the Light Balmy Blue, color the birds feathers. Apply the Light Crumb Cake around the body of the bird.

Use the Light and Dark Petal Pink to blend the Crumb Cake around the breast. Use the Light and Dark Balmy Blue to blend in the Crumb Cake in the feathers of the body.

Light Granny Apple Green was used for the grass.

Now get your Paper Snips to “fussy cut” the bird. This just means we are cutting the image out freehand. I leave a little border, but others will cut right on the line. Choose what looks best to you.

I like to use the Tombow Multipurpose Liquid glue, but you can also use any double sided stick tape. Apply the Bird Ballad Designer Series paper floral print to the ends of the card base.

Adhere the sentiment piece to the Basic Black. Adhere the completed piece to the center of the card base.

Adhere the Bird Ballad Designer Series paper polka dot print to the Petal Pink rectangle.

To adhere the polka dot piece to the card front, fold the left side down. Apply adhesive to the bottom end of both sided on the floral print, lay down the polka dot piece and hold in place with everything flat until the adhesive is stuck down.

Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the single bird and adhere it to the card front on the left hand side.

Use the Mini Glue Dots to adhere a bow made from the 3/8 inch Scalloped Lace Trim to the card front near the single bird. If you need help making a bow, see my blog about tying a bow which is from 02/2019: https://theresas-treasures.com/2019/02/15/making-a-bow/

Adhere one of the Flower Faceted Gems to the card front next to the bird.

And believe it or not that is all there is to this card!
