Stampin’ Up!® Forever Fern Rubber Band Background Get Well Card

Welcome to my Wacky Wednesday Technique. This Stampin’ Up!® Forever Fern card is really wacky because it is made using rubber bands around a clear block. The things we will do to make a creative background!

I will be using 2 stamp sets today. The Forever Fern stamp set has a lot of great leaf images. The So Sentimental is one of my all time favorites. Sadly it will be retiring. It is only available while supplies last so order yours HERE before it runs out.

Measurements

Measurements: Granny Apple Green Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Very Vanilla CS: 4 x 5 1/2 inches and 3 x 4 inches; and Shimmery White CS: 3 3/4 x 5 inches.

Stamping

Let’s start stamping! Stamp the sentiment “Sending Healing Hugs” onto the 3 x 4 inch Very Vanilla CS with the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Use you Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut out the sentiment. Fortunately, the Stitched So Sweetly Dies are not on the retiring list!

Rubber band Background in Daffodil Delight

In order to try this technique you will need rubber bands of various thicknesses. Wrap the rubber band around an E size Clear Block in a random pattern.

For this step I used Daffodil Delight ink. Use the ink pad to apply ink to the rubber bands. Flip the clear block over onto the 3 3/4 x 5 inch Shimmery White CS.

Remove the clear block and see what you have. I think I would have needed to apply more ink. You can rotate the Shimmery White CS, apply more ink to the rubber bands, and stamp down on the Shimmery White again. I stamped once on the upper half and once on the bottom half.

Next I sprayed my rubber band background with a little water to make it bleed into the paper a little.

While the paper is still damp, use the Granny Apple Green ink and the large leaf image from the Forever Fern stamp set to stamp some leaves around the edges.

Stamp some more of the leaves onto edges of the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Very Vanilla CS. This will be the inside of the card. I Stamped Off once on the smaller leaf image before stamping onto the Very Vanilla CS.

Rubber band background in Granny Apple Green

I decided the background needed a little more added to it so I inked up the rubber band block with the Granny Apple Green ink and added more to the stamped background.

I also sprayed it with a little water again and then used a paper towel to dab it dry.

Open the Granny Apple Green CS card base and adhere the inside of the card to the inside of the card base.

Use the Bone Folder to fold the card base. Next adhere the Rubber Band Background card piece to the card front.

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the background.

Bling!

The Artistry Blooms Self Adhesive Sequins are perfect to add some Bling! to this card! I use the Take Your Pick tool to easily move the sequins from the acetate sheet to the card front.

Viola! You have made a totally wacky Rubber Band Background for this get well card!

Thanks for coming by today. I hope you have had a chance to review the Retiring List in my Online Store. Some products are discounted. Check it all out HERE.

Stampin’ Up!®- Triple Stamping Fun with Floral Essence & Forever Fern

This fun fall card is made with the Triple Stamping Technique which I first learned from my stamping friend Karen Bouchikas about 8 years ago. This card is CASE’d from one of the first cards I ever made. It is super easy and looks super complicated! And- this card is so versatile!

Measurements: Cajun Craze Card Stock (CS): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Very Vanilla CS: two 4 x 5 1/4 inches, 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches and 2 x 3 1/4 inches; Pumpkin Pie CS: 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches; and Mango Melody CS: 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches. You will also need 5 inches of the Vanilla Open Weave Ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack in the 2020-21 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.

Stampin’ UP!® ink colors: Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze and Mango Melody

Take the 3 different sizes of Very Vanilla CS and layer them. You can hold them in place with a wee bit of repositional adhesive tape. We are using the Photopolymer stamps so you will need the Stampin’ Pierce mat or a catalog.

Stamp the large solid flower in the Floral Essence Stamp Set in Cajun Craze ink onto the righthand side in the middle. Next stamp the small solid flower in the upper left and lower left corners. Do not worry about the blank spots on the flowers near the edges of the layers. This will not be visible later.

Using the Mango Melody ink and the large bunch of leaves in the Forever Greenery Stamp Set, Stamp Off first, then stamp onto the card pieces. There will be a ribbon at the level of the large solid flower, so you may stamp the leaves so the ends of the stems will be covered by the ribbon. Stamp Off the smaller bunch of leaves using the Daffodil Delight ink before stamping on your card pieces. Fill in the open spaces with the smaller leaves.

Separate the three card pieces. Leave the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Very Vanilla CS piece. Stamp another large solid flower in the Cajun Craze ink in the middle.

Carefully cut the large solid flower out of the center. Just cut in the center so you can use this piece for the final card. Fussy cut the flower.

Stamp the centers of the flowers in Daffodil Delight ink.

Stamp Off the large bunch of leaves using the Mango Melody ink and stamp the righthand border of the second 4 x 5 1/4 inch Very Vanilla CS. Next Stamp Off the smaller bunch of leaves with the Daffodil Delight ink and stamp the borders of the large bunch of leaves. This is the inside of the card.

Adhere the inside card piece to the inside of the Cajun Craze CS card base. Use your Bone Folder to make a crisp fold at the 4 1/4 inch score line on the Cajun Craze CS card base.

Adhere the smaller card pieces to the corresponding colored card stock.

Adhere the Very Vanilla Open Weave Ribbon to the back of the right side of the smaller layer, the Mango Melody card piece, with a Mini Glue Dot.

Adhere the Mango Melody CS card piece with the ribbon on it, to the Pumpkin Pie CS layer, and finally to the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Very Vanilla CS card piece. Bring the ribbon over the the left hand side.

Wrap the ribbon around to the back of the left hand side and adhere it with a Mini Glue Dot.

Now adhere all the layers to the front of the Cajun Craze CS card base.

We are going to add a little dimension by using the Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the flower we cut out. Adhere this flower over the stamped flower.

Viola! Now you have made a super beautiful fall card! You can add any sentiment you want- Happy Thanksgiving, Thanks, Happy Birthday, I Love You, or any other sentiment you would like to send!

I am so grateful you have stopped by today. Please let me know what you think about this card. I appreciate your comments.

Kylie Bertucci’s Top 10 International Blog Winners Hop September 2020- Country Home Thank You

I am so honored and excited to be participating in today’s Top 10 Winners Hop! I won a spot in the Top Ten from Kylie’s International Blog Highlight. I thank everyone who voted for my card in that hop. I was feeling very creative for this card and I hope you like it. I can’t wait to see everyone’s projects!

I used a number of stamp sets for this card. I really like to mix and match! Country Home is where you will find the milk can and flowers. The “Thank You” sentiment and the script pattern are from Very Versailles. The remainder of the stamps are from: Gathered Together, Comfort & Hope and Forever Fern. Stampin’ Up!® ink colors include: Misty Moonlight, Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, and Early Espresso.

I have been really enjoying the versatility you get with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. From the outside in on the milk can, I blended Dark Smoky Slate, Light Smokey Slate and Light Gray Granite. The flower arrangement has Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade and Calypso Coral.

I continued some of the design from the front to the inside of the card. The tiles from Country Home are stamped in Misty Moonlight. The grid pattern from Comfort & Hope is in Cinnamon Cider. The Forever Fern leaves are in Just Jade. The little splatter pattern stamped in Early Espresso (most are Stamped Off) is also from Forever Fern.

Techniques used to make this card include: Masking, Sponging, and Stamping Off.

Thank you so much for visiting today! You are at Theresa McEntee/Theresa’s Treasures. Have a very creative day!

Stamping on Designer Series Paper with Forever Fern Wishing You Happiness

These beautiful colorful cards are so easy to make! The leaves come from the Forever Fern stamp set and the sentiments are from So Sentimental. Both of these sets are so versatile. The So Sentimental has several great sentiments in addition to those in the photo, including “hello baby”, “healing hugs”, “for you”, and “this calls for confetti”.

Here is the card I will demonstrate today. The colors are Magenta Madness, Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss and Balmy Blue.

Measurements: Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches: Whisper White CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches and 2 1/2 x 3 inches; Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP): 4 x 5 1/4 inches; and Balmy Blue CS: 2 5/8 x 3 1/8 inches.

Stamp the sentiment “Wishing you much happiness today and always” from the So Sentimental stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink onto the 2 1/2 x 3 inch Whisper White CS. Then use the Blackberry Bliss ink and the largest bunch of leaves from the Forever Fern stamp set and stamp the leaves to frame the sentiment. Be sure to use a scrap paper underneath so you don’t stamp on your table! Our nickname for Blackberry Bliss is Blackberry Mess!

Next use the Balmy Blue ink to stamp a smaller bunch of flowers on the upper left corner, and the Magenta Madness ink to stamp the berry design on the lower right corner of the sentiment. This creates a little frame around the sentiment.

Use the Blackberry Bliss ink and the larger bunch of leaves to stamp onto the Artistry Blooms DSP. I tried to visualize where the sentiment will be and use that as a focal point for the end of the stems.

Next use the Magenta Madness ink to stamp the berry design, and the Balmy Blue ink to stamp the smaller bunch of leaves. I continued to use the focal point for the ends of the stems. On some I turned the stamp around and stamped with the stem off the edge of the paper to fill in the blank spots.

I wanted to make the inside a little more fancy. I started on the top of the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS with the Blackberry Bliss ink and the large bunch of leaves, and worked down the right side. I used the Balmy Blue ink with the small bunch of leaves and then the Magenta Madness with the berry design on the bottom.

Adhere the stamped Whisper White CS panel to the inside of the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch Rich Razzleberry CS card base. Use you Bone Folder to fold the card base at the 4 1/4 inch score line so you get a nice crisp fold.

Adhere the stamped sentiment card piece to the 2 5/8 x 3 1/8 inch Balmy Blue CS. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals or the new Foam Adhesive Sheets on the back. Tip: If you have arthritis in you fingers, I have found that cutting the Adhesive Sheets into 1/4 inch strips is much easier to use than the little hexagonal Stampin’ Dimensionals. I just have a hard time peeling of the backs of those hexagons!

Adhere the stamped DSP to the front of the Rich Razzleberry card base, then add the sentiment card piece to the middle of the front.

And now for some Bling! I am so in love with the Artistry Blooms Self Adhesive Sequins Pack because there are 4 colors with 2 different sizes! They go with just about everything! To easily transfer the sequin I use the Take Your Pick tool. I slide the pointed end under the adhesive on the back of the sequin and than just set it down where I want it, apply a little pressure, and it sticks in place.

Viola! You have stamped on Designer Series Paper to make a wonderful, colorful card to wish some happiness to someone!

I really appreciate that you stopped by today. I hope you enjoyed the card and will give it a try. Experiment with different papers and stamps to see what you like. There are so many possiblities!

Forever Greenery in Blue- SIP Series #3

This is the third in a series of cards made with stamps, ink and paper- SIP cards. For this card, I made it a little more advanced by adding a Circle Punch, a couple of techniques, Stampin’ Dimensionals and lots of Bling!

This is still a very simple card to make if you just take it step by step, so I included lots of photos. The card looks more difficult than it is. The stamp set is Forever Fern by Stampin’ Up! and is part of the Forever Greenery Suite in the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. The images make it fun and easy to create elegant cards!

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS): 11 x 4 1/4 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches, 5 x 3 3/4 inches and 2 1/4 x 4 inches; and Misty Moonlight CS: 5 1/4 x 4 inches.

Using the Misty Moonlight ink, stamp the sentiment from the Forever Fern stamp set onto the 2 1/4 x 4 inch Whisper White CS.

Use the 1 1/2 inch Circle Punch to punch out the sentiment. Now use the punched out piece to draw a circle on the 5 x 3 3/4 inch Whisper White CS. This will be the focal point for stamping the leaves.

Using the Seaside Spray ink, stamp the largest bunch of leaves in the Forever Fern stamp set at 12 o’clock at full strength, and without adding any ink, stamp again at 4 o’clock. This is called Stamping Off. Using the Seaside Spray ink again, stamp the medium sized branch of leaves at full strength a 5 o’clock.

Stamp the long thin leaf branch in Misty Moonlight ink full strength at 1 o’clock and Stamped Off at 11 o’clock. Be mindful of where the end of the stem is. Ideally the end should stay within the pencil marked circle.

The berry type leaves are stamped in Pretty Peacock ink as shown.

One of the most fun stamps in the set is the splatter. There are so many possibilities with the splatter. For this card, I used the Seaside Spray ink and stamped full strength on some and Stamped Off on other images around the focal point.

I wanted to make this a little more interesting. I decided to use the Sponging Technique on both card pieces.

The Sponging Technique adds a darker edge to the card piece. I cut the Stampin’ Sponges into smaller pieces and label them with the color of ink. For more on how to prepare the Stampin’ Sponges click HERE. Using the Misty Moonlight ink, dab the sponge onto the ink pad. Gently rub the sponge on the edge of the card piece in a back and forth motion.

Do the same to sponge Misty Moonlight ink on the 5 x 3 3/4 inch card piece.

Adhere the sponged 5 x 3 3/4 inch card piece to the 5 1/4 x 4 inch Misty Moonlight CS. Use an eraser to erase the circle. Adhere the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use the Bone Folder to fold the 11 x 4 1/4 inch Whisper White CS at the 5 1/2 inch score line. Adhere the completed card piece to the front of the Whisper White card base.

The Artistry Blooms Self-Adhesive Sequins are the perfect color to add some Bling! to this card. Use the Take Your Pick tool to easily transfer the sequins to your card.

Viola! You have a great card to send off “to a friend who makes you smile”.

Thank you for coming by today and seeing how easy it is to make this elegant card. The Forever Fern stamp set is very versatile. Check out the previous two blogs to see two other cards made from this set.

Forever Greenery in Blue- SIP Series #2

This is the second in the SIP series. SIP stands for stamps, ink and paper. The three cards in the series are made primarily from SIP-but with a little Bling! added at the end. The Forever Fern stamp set is part of the Forever Greenery Suite in the New 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

Here are the three cards in the SIP Series. The previous blog is for the card lying down with the sentiment “Love and Laughter Forever After” on it. You can see that card by clicking HERE.

Here is today’s card. This is my “Stamp it, Cut it, and Paste It” card. This great card is really very straightforward to make. The stamping pattern of the leaves is nearly identical to SIP card #1 in the previous blog.

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS): 11 x 4 1/4 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches and 5 x 3 3/4 inches; Misty Moonlight CS: 5 1/4 x 4 inches.

The first step is to cut 1/4 inch off the top of the 5 x 3 3/4 inch Whisper White CS.

Next stamp in Misty Moonlight ink the largest bunch of leaves in the Forever Fern stamp set. Before you put more ink on the stamp, stamp it in the upper right hand corner. This is a different version of the Stamping Off Technique using both the full strength and the Stamped Off image on the same card.

Using the Pretty Peacock ink, stamp once on the lower part of the card next to the first image. Stamp once under the first stamp in the right hand corner, then once above the first stamp.

Stamp the smaller bunch of leaves in Seaside Spray ink using the Stamping Off Technique.

Now that we have “Stamped It” we can “Cut it”. Cut 1 1/2 inches off the top and off the bottom.

Now we can add the sentiment “Hello” in Misty Moonlight ink.

I found it to be the most easy to have everything spaced evenly if I “Pasted it” by putting the bottom panel on first, followed by the top panel, then the center panel.

Fold the 11 x 4 1/4 inch Whisper White CS at the 5 1/2 inch score line and use the Bone Folder to get a crisp fold. Adhere this panel onto front of the Whisper White card base. You could leave the card just as it is, or you could add some Bling!

The Bling! or embellishment I chose for this card is the Artistry Blooms Self-Adhesive Sequins. They come in a rainbow of colors, of which the blue matches this card.

Tip: Transfer the self-adhesive sequins from the acetate sheet to the card with the Take Your Pick tool. Just slide the pick under the adhesive and move it to where you want it on the card. Apply light pressure on the sequin and remove the pick.

And Viola! you have made an elegant “Hello” card! Great to send to new or old friend to just say “Hello”.

Thanks for coming by and looking at my card. I really love how fast and simple it is to make elegant cards with the Forever Fern stamp set. I have also made some cards with greens, pinks and purples. It is a very versatile stamp set!

Forever Greenery in Blue-SIP Series #1

What is a SIP series? SIP stands for stamps, ink and paper. The next three cards I am going to show on my blog will primarily be made with just SIP (and a little Bling! of course).

These are the three cards I will show over the next few blogs. I am using the Forever Fern stamp set (part of the Forever Greenery Suite) and three ink colors: Misty Moonlight, Pretty Peacock and Seaside Spray.

You will be so surprised at how simple this card is to make!

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS): 11 x 4 1/4 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches and 5 x 3 3/4 inches; Misty Moonlight CS: 5 1/4 x 4 inches.

On the 5 x 3 3/4 inch Whisper White CS and using the largest stamp of the leaves in the Forever Fern Stamp Set, stamp with the Misty Moonlight ink once at full strength on the bottom left corner. Do not add any ink to the stamp and stamp again in the upper right hand corner, turning the stamp. This is another way of Stamping Off where you stamp both the full strength and the stamped off images on the card.

Stamp the next 3 images with the Pretty Peacock ink. The bottom left hand corner is stamped at full strength. The top upper right hand corner stamp is at full strength, and the lower image is the Stamped Off image.

Now use the small bunch of leaves with the Seaside Spray ink. Stamp at full strength on the top left hand corner, followed by a Stamped Off image right above it. Stamp another full strength image on the bottom of the left hand corner.

Stamp the sentiment “love and laughter FOREVER AFTER” in Misty Moonlight ink. Note: I have tried stamping the sentiment before stamping all the leaves as well. Either way works. Just see which way works well for you.

Use the Bone Folder to fold the 11 x 4 1/4 inch Whisper White CS at the 5 1/2 inch score line. Adhere the 5 1/4 x 4 inch Misty Moonlight CS to the front of the Whisper White card base. Now adhere the stamped 5 x 3 3/4 inch piece. You may certainly stop here as this is a very nice elegant card. However, if you are like me this card needs a little Bling!

In the New 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog there are many new choices for embellishments (Bling!) on pages 156-158. These are part of the Artistry Blooms Adhesive-backed Sequins. They match perfectly!

I find it to be very easy to move the sequins from the acetate to the card with the Take Your Pick tool. I just slide the pick under the adhesive on the sequin and move it to the card. Easy as that!

And Viola! you have a nice elegant card with Bling! You can change up the sentiment to be anything from “Happy Birthday” to “Get Well” to “With Sympathy”. It makes for a very versatile card.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you try the Forever Fern stamp set with your favorite colors. I have also played around with purples and pinks. It is very easy to make very elegant looking cards!

Friday’s Fun Fold Card with Forever Fern

Hello and welcome to Friday! Yes, you made it through another week! On Fridays I will post a Technique or Fun Fold. Today’s card is a fun fold that is really very simple to make.

The Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern stamp set is new in the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. There are many leaf images that make creating with the set very rewarding. There is even a little “splatter” stamp as you can see from the Pretty Peacock splatter on the inside of the card.

Measurements: Garden Green Card Stock (CS): 11 x 4 1/4 inches with a score line at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 inches, and 4 x 3 1/2 inches; Whisper White CS: 5 1/4 x 4 inches and two 4 x 2 1/2 inches; Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper DSP) in two different designs: 4 x 2 1/2 inches and 3 3/4 x 3 1/4 inches. You will also need the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon in a 5 inch and 9 inch length, and some gold leaves from the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper.

Let’s start stamping! Use the Garden Green ink for the bunch of leaves from the Forever Fern stamp set to stamp onto the 4 x 2 1/2 inch Whisper White CS. Then use the Pretty Peacock ink to stamp the butterfly from the Positive Thoughts stamp set leaving space around the leaves and butterfly so they can be cut out.

Fussy cut the bunch of leaves and the butterfly, then set aside.

Using Garden Green ink, stamp the sentiment “Friends like you mean more every year” from the Positive Thoughts stamp set onto the 5 1/4 x 4 inch Whisper White in the center and slightly above the midline. Now stamp the large bunch of leaves in the upper right and left corners, not quite symmetrically.

Now stamp the medium leaf branch in Old Olive around the perimeter. Generally, 3 is a good number of one image (although I broke this rule with the large branch 😊).

The smaller branch of leaves is stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink (oops, I broke the rule of 3’s again!). I still like the way it looks, so I guess I can get away with it this time!

If you want, add some of the splatters with Pretty Peacock ink. Some are full strength, others are Stamped Off.

Fold the 11 x 4 1/4 inch Garden Green CS at the 5 1/2 inch score line and use the Bone Folder to get a crisp fold. Now fold at the 2 3/4 inch score line. Use the Bone Folder again.

Adhere the 3 3/4 x 3 1/4 inch Forever Greenery DSP to the 4 x 3 3/4 inch Garden Green CS. Use Glue Dots to adhere the 5 inch piece of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.

Use the Bone Folder to curve the wings of the butterfly.

Punch a circle with the 2 1/4 inch Circle Punch and adhere it to the card panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Adhere the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper gold leaf branch to the punched out circle. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the Garden Green bunch of leaves and the Pretty Peacock butterfly. Use a Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon that is tied from the 9 inch piece of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. Set aside.

Adhere the 4 x 2 1/2 inch Forever Greenery DSP to the 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 inch section on the outside of the card base. Now adhere the 5 1/4 x 4 inch panel to the inside of the card.

This is the card so far. Lay the panel with the gold leaf and butterfly in place.

Make a light pencil mark on the butterfly panel to help you know where to put the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Adhere the butterfly panel to the card front.

Now for the Bling! Today I am using the Gold Metallic Pearls. The Take Your Pick tool is the easiest way to transfer these tiny pearls from the sheet to your card.

And Viola! you have a really pretty fun fold to send to a good friend!

Posted in Hello, Stampin' Emboss Powder, Watercolor wash background

Embossing With Forever Fern

Hello! Hope you are all doing well and are ready to craft!

I had a customer request that I go over how to use the Stampin’ Emboss Powder to emboss on a card. I’m excited to show you the Emboss Resist technique because it is just magical! This is a very simple card meant to highlight the embossing process.

You will be surprised how simple this lovely card is to make! I used the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern stamp set for the bunch of leaves and the sentiment.

Measurements: Shimmery White Card Stock (CS): 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches, 5 1/4 x 4 inches and a 3/4 inch strip measuring at least 3 inches. Tip: I chose the Shimmery White CS because it holds up better to watercoloring than the Whisper White CS. You could also use the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper for the 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece.

Embossing. The first step is to use an embossing static remover powder. (Stampin’ Up! had one called the Embossing Buddy but unfortunately it retired. Information on where to get one is at the end of the blog.)

The second step is to use Versamark ink which is a high viscosity ink so that the Stampin’ Emboss Powder will adhere to it. Tip: I ink the larger stamps upside down to be sure to get the ink evenly distributed.

Carefully stamp the bunch of leaves image onto your 5 1/4 x 4 inch Shimmery White CS in Versamark ink. It will be hard to see. Take care not to touch the Versamark ink on the card because it will smear. Stamp the sentiment “HELLO” in Versamark ink onto the 3/4 inch strip of Shimmery White CS.

The third step is to apply the emboss powder to the image stamped in Versamark ink. I used White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I use a spoon to put enough of the emboss powder to cover the image. Tip: I keep my Stampin’ Emboss Powders in a plastic container so that it is easier to use. You can just pour the powder from the jar onto the image and catch the extra powder with a piece of paper. Then pour the powder back into the jar.

I use the spoon to tap the paper and remove any excess emboss powder. You can see the image somewhat. Notice that the Stampin’ Emboss Powder is dull. When you use the Heat Tool it will become shiny.

I use a small paint brush to remove emboss powder that is on by mistake before heating it.

For this step I am using Shaded Spruce CS to better show you the process. The fourth and final step is to use the Heat Tool to melt the Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I usually let the Heat Tool run for 10 seconds before waving it in front of the paper. I keep the Heat Tool moving about 1-2 inches away from the paper. You will see a change in the emboss powder as it melts. For the White Stampin’ Emboss Powder you will see it turn from dull to shiny. The leaves on the left are before heating, on the right after heating.

Now we can watercolor! I used the Aqua Painter that is retired. There are new Water Painters in the new Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. I just haven’t gotten them yet. They work the same. I applied a layer of water to the paper. Using Old Olive ink I started at the top of the image using wide brush strokes. Tip: To get the ink on the lid of the ink pad, squeeze the pad in the center.

I used Shaded Spruce ink for the bottom part of the bunch of leaves, blending the two ink colors in the middle. Dab the image with a paper towel to remove excess ink over the embossed image. I used the Shaded Spruce alone for the watercolor wash behind the sentiment. Tip: Squeeze the Watercolor Painter brush onto a paper towel before changing colors to remove the ink. Be sure to clean it when you are done watercoloring.

Adhere the embossed piece to the 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch Shimmery White CS after you have folded it at the 4 1/4 inch score line. Trim the sentiment and apply it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Now for some Bling! The Gold Glitter Enamel Dots are perfect for dressing up this simple card.

Apply an odd number of dots for best results. Tip: Apply the Gold Glitter Enamel Dots using the Take Your Pick tool. It makes transferring the dots from the acetate sheet to the card much easier.

And Viola! there you have a beautiful card to say “HELLO” to someone special.

I hope you enjoyed learning to emboss. If you already knew the magic of embossing, I hope you will try this card. Have a most wonderful day and find some time to craft today!
