Fun Fold Friday with Butterfly Brilliance by Stampin’ Up!®

Welcome to Theresa’s Treasures today for Fun Fold Friday. Today’s card is made using the Butterfly Brilliance by Stampin’ Up!® as well as the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper (DSP). The Butterfly Brilliance stamp set is part of the Butterfly Bouquet Suite that will be available for purchase on March 2, 2021. Or if you want yours now, consider joining my Theresa’s Gems Team. More information on the Butterfly Bouquet Suite and how to join at the end of the instructions.

The Fun Fold is the centerpiece for this lovely card. It is super simple!

Measurements

Measurements: Basic White Card Stock (CS) card base: 4 1/4 x 11 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches; Bumblebee CS: 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches and 4 x 5 1/2 inches; Basic White CS: 3 3/4 x 5 inches; and Flowers for Every Season DSP: 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches.

Stamping

First we will start by stamping the sentiment “Thinking of You” from the Happy Thoughts stamp set in Memento ink onto the 3 3/4 x 5 inch Basic White CS.

You will also be stamping the Butterfly Brilliance stamp in Memento ink onto a piece of Basic White CS and then coloring the smaller butterflies with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. The colors I used were: Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie.

Creating the Fun Fold

You will need your Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer for this step. First make a pencil mark at 2 1/8 inches on each side of the 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch Flowers for Every Season DSP.

The next step is to line up the pencil marks so that you can make a score line between them. Rotate until you have score lines on each corner.

The Flowers for Every Season card piece should look like this after you have made all the score lines. Erase the pencil marks.

Next you line up the score line at 3/4 inches and make another score line. Rotate until you have made a second score line all the way around. The end result is pictured on the right.

Now use your Bone Folder to make a crisp fold along all of the outer score lines.

In a similar fashion, fold the inner score lines outward and use the Bone Folder to make a crisp fold. Next, adhere the Fun Fold card piece to the 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch Bumblebee CS.

Putting It All Together

Begin to assemble the parts by adhering the Fun Fold card piece to the sentiment card piece. Then adhere that to the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Bumblebee CS.

To complete the card front, use your Bone Folder to make a crisp fold at the 5 1/2 inch score line on the 4 1/4 x 11 inch Basic White CS card base. Next adhere the completed card piece to the front of the Basic White CS card base.

Finishing Up

In order to give the butterflies a little more dimension, I used my Bone Folder to gently curve the wings of each butterfly.

Add the butterflies to the card front with a Stampin’ Dimensional in the center behind the body of the butterfly.

I wanted my Fun Fold to lie a bit more flat so I added a Mini Glue Dot under the first fold. Tip: It is very easy to move the Mini Glue Dot with the Take Your Pick tool.

Viola! You have made a lovely Fun Fold to let someone know you are thinking of them. I really enjoy making cards. And I enjoy it even more when I mail the card out to someone. Additionally, I enjoy the positive feedback I get from the recipient. Mailing cards is a really great way to spread some joy!

Thank you for coming by today for Fun Fold Friday. I hope you will spend some time making your own card and spreading some joy yourself. We could all use a little more joy!

Stampin’ Up!® Sweet Ice Cream Corner-fold Birthday Card

Hello! This Stampin’ Up!® Sweet Ice Cream Corner-fold Birthday Card is actually quite easy to make with the photographic tutorial that follows. I am looking forward to some warmer summer days to be able to eat some good ice cream!

I just love the tasty images on the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper (DSP). Which is your favorite flavor? Mine is pistachio. Yum! This card is a Corner-fold Card. I was inspired by one that Mary Deartherage made using the Berry Delight DSP which you can see HERE if you like.

Measurements

Measurements for the card base and outside of the card: Basic White Cardstock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Ice Cream Corner DSP ice cream cone design: 4 x 5 1/4 inches; Rich Razzleberry CS: 2 x 4 1/2 inches and 1/2 x 4 inches; Petal Pink CS: 2 x 4 inches; Basic White CS: 2 x 2 inches and 2 x 3 1/2 inches; Cinnamon Cider CS: 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches; Ice Cream Corner DSP waffle cone design: 2 5/8 x 2 5/8 inches and 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches (not pictured).

Measurements for the inside of the card: Basic White CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches and 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches; Cinnamon Cider: 2 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches; Ice Cream Corner DSP waffle cone design: 2 5/8 x 4 7/8 inches and the remainder of the 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch piece from above; Soft Sea Foam CS, Pool Party CS, Petal Pink CS and Rich Razzleberry CS: 2 x 3 1/2 inches.

Stamping

To begin this card, use the Blackberry Bliss ink to stamp the sentiments. The “Happy Birthday” which is from the Oval Occasions stamp set is stamped in the middle of the 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch Basic White CS. The “Treat Yourself” from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set is stamped on the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Basic White CS and is for the inside of the card.

Creating the Corner-fold

We will be using the Stampin’ Up! Trimmer to make a score line in the upper right-hand corner of the Basic White CS card base. Tip: In order to avoid cutting paper that I want scored, I used my label maker to label which tab was the “cut” and which was the “score”.

Place the Basic White CS card base with the 11 inch side on top. Make a light pencil mark 3 inches from the right edge. Turn the paper so that the 4 1/4 inch side is on top. Make a mark at 3 inches.

Line the marks up as shown so that you can make a score line between them.

Here is what it should look like with the score line between the two pencil marks. Erase the pencil marks.

Similarly mark the $ x 5 1/4 inch Ice Cream Corner DSP. Start by placing the 4 inch side on top and make a mark at 3 1/8 inches. Turn the paper so that the 5 1/4 inch side on on top. Make a mark at 3 1/8 inches.

Line up the marks and cut between them.

The finished piece should look like this.

Adhere the Ice Cream Corner DSP to the front of the Basic White CS card base. Use your Bone Folder to make a crisp fold and fold the upper right-hand corner down. Put a little adhesive to hold the corner in place.

Assembling the Pieces for the Card Front

First you will need to use the Ice Cream Cone Punch to punch out an ice cream from the 2 x 3 1/2 inch pieces of the Petal Pink and Rich Razzleberry CS.

On the other end of the 2 x 3 1/2 inch Rich Razzleberry, punch out a scalloped oval from the Double Oval Punch. Next use the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch to punch a waffle cone from the 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch Ice Cream Corner DSP.

I placed the pieces on a black card stock so they would show up better. To build the piece for the corner-fold, adhere the 2 5/8 x 2 5/8 inch Ice Cream Corner DSP to the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Cinnamon Cider CS. Then adhere the 2 x 2 inch Basic White CS.

Begin to build your ice cream cone using Stampin’ Dimensionals. On the ice cream, place the Dimensional towards the upper edge so that the ice cream overhangs the layer below a little.

Putting the Card Front Together

Complete the corner-fold by adhering the ice cream cone piece. Next adhere the 1/2 x 4 inch strip of Rich Razzleberry. Follow up using Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the “Happy Birthday” sentiment.

Assembling the Pieces for the Inside of the Card

Again use the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch to make ice cream from the 2 x 3 1/2 inch Petal Pink, Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam CS. Use the other end of the 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch Ice Cream Corner DSP to make another waffle cone.

Putting the Inside of the Card Together

Begin to put together the inside of the card by adhering the “Treat Yourself” card piece to the right of the inside. Then adhere the 2 3/4 x 4 1/2 inch Cinnamon Cider CS to the left side. Follow by adhering the 2 5/8 x 4 3/8 inch Ice Cream Corner DSP and then the 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch Basic White CS.

Start building your ice cream cone by using a Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere the cone. Place the Dimensional on the upper edge of each ice cream so that they overlap a little as you go up.

Viola! You have a delicious Sweet Ice Cream Birthday card!

Thank you so much for coming by today! I hope you enjoyed this corner-fold card.

Happy Thoughts & Daisy Punch for Fun Fold Friday

The Happy Thoughts stamp set and Daisy Punch combined with some of the FREE Designer Series Paper from Sale-a-bration are what come together to make this pretty floral Fun Fold card. You can find the Happy Thoughts stamp set in the 2021 January-June Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog. The Daisy Punch and Medium Daisy Punch can be found in the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. If you order all three, you will qualify for a FREE product from the Sale-a-bration Brochure- the Paper Blooms 12 x 12 inch DSP!

There are a lot of pieces to this particular Fun-Fold card. Not to worry-the easy to follow photographic instructions will help you create this card in no time.

Measurements

Measurements: Rococo Rose Card Stock (CS) card base #1: 4 1/4 x 11 inches scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 inches; Rococo Rose CS card base #2: 2 3/4 x 10 inches scored at 4 3/4 and 7 1/2 inches; Basic White CS: 2 1/4 x 2 1/2 inches; Paper Blooms DSP: 2 1/2 x 4 inches, 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches; Punched out pieces: Daisy Punch: Rococo Rose CS and Petal Pink CS; Medium Daisy Punch: Night of Navy CS; Perennial Flower: Night of Navy CS and the 2 1/4 inch Circle Punch: Basic White CS. You will also need about 12 inches of the White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.

Stamping

Begin by stamping the sentiment “Thinking OF You” in Night Of Navy ink onto the 2 1/4 x 2 1/2 inch Basic White CS. The 2 1/4 inch length should be on the top and bottom.

Putting It Together

Start by putting together the Rococo Rose CS card base #2. First adhere the 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch Paper Blooms DSP to the first panel on the left. Then adhere the sentiment to the last panel on the right. Set aside.

The next step will be to work with Rococo Rose CS card base #1. Begin by adhering the 2 1/2 x 4 inch Paper Blooms DSP to the first panel on the left. Next adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Paper Blooms DSP to the last panel on the right.

In order to see how this will go together, hold the two card bases as shown in the first photo. Start by adhering the left side of the top card base to the card base underneath.

This is how it will look with the card closed. Right now only the left side of the top card base is adhered.

For the next step, open the card, turn the card upside down and rotate it 180 degrees. You will be applying adhesive to the back of the right side of the top card base. The close the card and adhere the two together. In this way, the card will lay flat for mailing.

Here is the aerial view of the card when it has been adhered.

Decorating the Card Front

Begin to put the front of the card together by using Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the 2 1/4 inch Basic White CS circle to the left side of the front. Tie the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the right side of the top card base. Trim the ends of the ribbon.

In order to give a little dimension to the daisies, use the Bone Folder to gently curve the petals back. Be careful when doing this as I have often torn the petal straight off!

Now cut the Perennial Flower Punch as shown to make some “leaves” for the front of the card.

Start with a Stampin’ Dimensional on the center of the Petal Pink Daisy Punch and adhere it to the center of the Basic White CS Circle Punch. Then use adhesive in the center of the Rococo Rose Daisy Punch and adhere it to the Petal Pink Daisy.

Now use adhesive to adhere the Night Of Navy Daisy Punch and add the “leaves”. I find it easier to place the leaves by using a tweezers.

And now for a little Bling! I just added three Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of the daisy. Later I realized I could have also used the Wink of Stella on the daisy to make it even more sparkly!

Viola! You have a pretty floral Fun Fold to let someone special know you’ve been thinking of them.

Thanks for visiting today. I really appreciate you. Leave me a comment to let me know how I am doing with these Fun Folds. Are they too easy? Too hard? Are the instructions helpful? I welcome any comments you have.

Stampin’ Up!® Heartfelt- Pop-Up Fun Fold

This Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Pop-Up Fun Fold is a cute 3 x3 inch Valentine’s card which is easy and fun to make.

Measurements

Measurements: Rococo Rose Card Stock (CS) card base: 3x 6 inches with a score line at 3 inches; Blushing Bride CS: 2 1/2 x 4 inches.

You will also need 4 scalloped hearts. Two Rococo Rose CS and two Brushing Bride CS hearts punched with the scalloped heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack.

Stamping

Start out stamping with the large sentiment heart. Stamp with the Rococo Rose ink onto the 2 1/2 x 4 inch Brushing Bride CS. Note: Be sure to use the Stampin’ Pierce mat or a catalog to get the best stamped image with the Photopolymer (see-through) stamps.

Next stamp the little lacey heart in Rococo Rose ink onto the center of the two Blushing Bride scalloped hearts. Continuing in the Rococo Rose ink, stamp the sentiment “Love You Lots” onto the center of the remaining Rococo Rose heart.

Scoring the Hearts

Set up the Trimmer to make score lines. Start by placing the right-hand edge on the 1/4 inch mark to the left of the center. Make a score line. Now move to the right so that the center of the heart is in place and score. Lastly, move the heart to the right again so that the left-hand edge is on the 1/4 inch mark and score. Repeat for all 3 hearts.

Each of the three hearts should look like this when you are finished scoring.

Putting It All Together

You will want to use a strong tape to adhere the pop-up portion of this card. I used the Tear & Tape that Stampin’ Up!® carries. The tape will be applied to the scalloped hearts as shown above.

To assemble the pop-up, start by using your Bone Folder on the center score line for the two Blushing Bride CS scalloped hearts. Remove the protective covering of the Tear & Tape on the Rococo Rose CS scalloped heart and lay it on the table face down. Adhere the Blushing Bride CS scalloped heart folded in half as shown on the right. Next adhere the other Blushing Bride CS scalloped heart on the left.

When you open it up it should look like this.

To continue to assemble the card pieces, use the Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the large sentiment heart piece to the remaining Rococo Rose CS scalloped heart.

The next step is to adhere the Square Vellum Doily. I just applied the glue to 3 small areas that will be covered with the scalloped heart.

To finish up the front, apply the Rococo Rose CS scalloped heart with the large sentiment heart stamped on it to the card front.

Installing the Pop-Up

To install the pop-up, first fold the pop-up heart in half as shown.

Lay the folded heart card piece onto the inside of the card as shown. Close the card and push firmly to adhere the pop-up to the inside.

When you open the card it will look like this!

Bling!

The Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels are perfect for this card. I added five to the front of the card. Note: An odd number of rhinestones is visually more appealing than an even number.

Voila! You have made a fun pop-up to wish someone special a Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thank you so much for visiting today. I hope you will try this out. I ended up making several with different colors of card stock.

Hey Birthday Chick Fun Fold for Friday!

Hello! Stampin’ Up!® will release Hey Birthday Chick on February 2, 2021! This set is so adorable and fun to use to create cards made to bring a smile to anyone’s face.

The Fun Fold for today is wonderful to help showcase the images and sentiments in the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set! Don’t worry. It really isn’t as complicated as it looks, especially if you try it more than once.

Measurements

Measurements: Basic White Card Stock (CS) card bases: 4 x 9 inches with a score line at 3 1/2 inches, and 3 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Mango Melody CS: 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 inches, and 3 1/4 x 3 3/4 inches; Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP): 3 1/2 x 5 inches, 2 3/4 x 4 inches, and 3 x 3 1/2 inches; and Basic White CS: 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 inches, and 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches. You will also need about 16-18 inches of the Daffodil Delight 1/4 inch Ruched Ribbon (not pictured).

Stamping

Start out by stamping the cupcake chick onto the 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 inch Basic White CS in Memento Black ink. Next stamp the “Happy Birthday” sentiment under the chicken.

Stamp the sentiment “let’s celebrate you” onto the middle of the 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch Basic White CS. Stamp the confetti around the sentiment, first with Bumblebee ink, then with Magenta Madness ink.

Tip-Halos

Tip: When I stamped the confetti in the Bumblebee ink, I got a “halo“. Sometimes the red rubber stamps need a little trimming to avoid having the halos in the future. Some folks trim theirs with an Exacto knife. I just use my sharp Paper Snips to trim the excess red rubber off.

Now it’s time to color in this image. I like the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. If you haven’t tried them yet, I highly recommend that you do. It is very easy to make color gradients and shadows with the Blends. The cupcake wrapper is colored in Light and Dark Magenta Madness. The chicken’s feet are Daffodil Delight. I colored the Buttercup Comb on the chicken’s head in Light Calypso Coral.

To complete the coloring of the comb, first I used the Dark Calypso Coral to shadow some strands. Then I colored with the Light Calypso Coral and blended the two shades together for the final result.

Switch to the 3 x 8 1/2 inch Basic White CS with the score line at 4 1/4 inches. This is a small secondary card base. Using the Memento Black ink stamp the little chick in the middle to the left of center. Follow up by stamping the sentiment “you’re still a spring chicken” to the right of the chick. I again used the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers to color the chick. (I forgot to color the little chick until I had finished the card.) The birthday hat is colored in Magenta Madness. The chick is colored in Daffodil Delight and his beak and legs in Light Calypso Coral.

To finish up here, use the Everyday Label Punch to punch out the “let’s celebrate you” sentiment. Now you have all the stamping done!

Putting It All Together

To begin putting this Fun Fold together, we will start with the baby chick card base. Use your Bone Folder to make a nice crisp fold at the 4 1/4 inch score line. Then adhere the 2 3/4 x 4 inch piece of Artistry Blooms DSP to the front.

Now we will work on the larger 4 x 9 inch Basic White CS card base. Start by preparing the pieces. Adhere the 3 x 3 1/2 inch Artistry Blooms DSP to the 3 1/4 x 3 3/4 inch Mango Melody CS. Now adhere the 3 1/2 x 5 inch Artistry Blooms DSP to the 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 inch Mange Melody CS.

Lay the larger card base open on the table with the larger section on top. Adhere the 3 3/4 x 5 inch piece of Mango Melody CS with the Artistry Blooms DSP onto this larger portion.

To put together the front of this card base, use your Bone Folder to make a crisp fold at the 3 1/2 inch score line and fold the bottom up. Now you can adhere the 3 1/4 x 3 3/4 inch Mango Melody/Artistry Blooms DSP piece to the front of the bottom section.

This is the tricky part. You will need to adhere the smaller Basic White CS card base to the inside of the larger Basic White CS card base so that when the card is closed up, it is centered.

Finishing Up

In order to get the Happy Birthday chicken piece in the right spot you will need to place it on the front flap of the larger card base so that it is hidden when the smaller card base is closed. Adhere in place.

T

To make the finishing touches, use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the “let’s celebrate you” sentiment piece, then wrap the ribbon around the front of the smaller card base and tie a bow.

Three Bow Tying Tips

There are a few tips I use to tie a bow. The first tip is to do it upside down. The second tip is to use a pair of self closing tweezers to hold the knot while you finish tying the bow.

The third tip is to use a Mini Glue dot under the center knot of the bow to hold it in place. If the tails are not in the proper place, you can also use a Mini Glue Dot to hold the tails in place.

Viola!

Viola! Hopefully you made it through the instructions with a nice card. If you did not, don’t give up. Try it again. Often when I am creating and designing a Fun Fold, I have to do it more than once.

Thanks for hanging in there and reading my blog today. I hope you will find this a great Fun Fold to use to design your own cards.

Just A Note

There has been a change in the white cardstock that Stampin’ Up! is selling. The Whisper White CS is no longer available. Now there is Basic White CS, envelopes, notecards, etc. Below is the flyer with the new item numbers you will need to use to order. I have some on the way, but I have heard there is not much difference.

Stampin’ Up!® Meant To Be Fun Fold Friday

This Stampin’ Up!® Meant To Be Fun Fold Friday card is fun to make and to receive. This unique card is a great one to give as a Valentine to your sweetheart, or even to your Mom, best friend or sister!

Measurements

This card is super fun and uses some of the shiny new Love You Always Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Measurements: Very Vanilla Card Stock (CS) card base: 4 1/2 x 8 inches with a score line at 3 3/4 inches (score line is not in the center); Rococo Rose CS: 3 1/2 x 7 inches with a score line at 3 1/2 inches; Very Vanilla CS: 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches; Love You Always Specialty DSP: 3 1/2 x 4 inches and 4 x 4 inches.

Starting off

I would like to point out that the card base is not scored in the middle. There should be a 1/2 inch difference. Use your Bone Folder to make a nice crisp fold.

The next step is to adhere the Love You Always Specialty DSP. The inside piece is the 4 x 4 inch piece and the outside is the 3 1/2 x 4 inch piece.

Now we will make the Fun Fold piece by using the scalloped heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack to punch a heart out of the right-hand side of the Rococo Rose CS. Save the punched out heart for a later step. Tip: Be sure to push the Rococo Rose CS all the way into the punch to be able to punch the heart out in the position shown.

Stamping

Usually I do the stamping first, but in this case we needed to wait until the heart was punched out. Now it’s time to stamp! In order to coordinate the colors, but also make the ink dark enough, I chose the Merry Merlot ink to stamp the sentiment “Happy Valentine’s Day”.

Putting It All Together

In order to put this card together, you will first fold the Rococo Rose CS card piece on the score line with the open ends on the left; i.e., backwards. Next, center the Rococo Rose on the inside panel of the Very Vanilla CS card base. Close the front of the card to check to see that the card can close completely before adhering the Rococo Rose CS card piece. Adhere the Rococo Rose piece in place.

In preparation of completing the inside of the card, adhere the 2 3/4 inch square Very Vanilla CS to the center of the inside of the Rococo Rose card piece.

Now to complete the inside of the card, position the punched out heart with the Rococo Rose portion of the card closed. Adhere the heart in place. Open the front of the Rococo Rose card piece to ensure it does not get adhered.

Bling!

It is time to add some Bling! The Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels go really well with the shiny foil in the Love You Always Specialty DSP and the Rococo Rose CS. Tip: The Take Your Pick tool is great for transferring the rhinestones to your card. If you haven’t ordered one yet, click HERE.

Viola! You have a super cool Valentine’s Day Fun Fold to send off to someone special.

Stampin’ Up!® Happy Birthday with Happy Thoughts Friday Fun Fold

Hello! I have a wonderful Happy Birthday with Happy Thoughts card for you today for your Friday Fun Fold. The Happy Thoughts stamp set is a great beginner set that is in the 2021 January-June Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. There is a sentiment to put on the front of the card and a longer sentiment for the inside of the card to include: Happy Birthday, Thank You, Congratulations, and Thinking of You. A very versatile stamp set!

The gorgeous Designer Series Paper (DSP) is part of the Fine Art Floral Suite and is called-you guessed it- Fine Art Floral DSP. The little ladybug embellishments are from the Dandy Garden Suite, which I will talk more about later. This lovely handmade birthday card is fairly easy to make, so let’s get started!

Measurements

Measurements: Mossy Meadow Card Stock (CS) card base: 4 1/4 x 8 inches with a score line at 2 1/2 inches; Whisper White CS: 2 3/8 x 4 inches and 2 1/2 x 4 inches (for the oval die cut); Mossy Meadow CS: 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches with a score line at 1/2 inch and 2 3/4 x 4 inches (for the oval die cut); and the Fine Art Floral DSP: 4 x 5 1/4 inches and 2 1/4 x 4 inches.

Stamping

I used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut out the 2 stitched ovals, one from the 2 1/2 x 4 inch Whisper White CS and one from the 2 3/4 x 4 inch Mossy Meadow CS. Next, stamp the sentiment “Happy Birthday” in Mossy Meadow ink onto the Whisper White CS stitched oval. Follow with stamping the inside sentiment in the Mossy Meadow ink onto the 2 3/8 x 4 inch Whisper White CS.

Preparing the Card Base

On the opposite end to the scored end, cut a banner edge. The first cut should be in the center. The second cut is from one corner to the top of the center cut. The third cut is from the other corner to the top of the center cut. Viola! A perfect banner edge every time!

Lay the Mossy Meadow CS card base on the table with the short end on the left. Position the card piece you just cut a banner edge on with the 1/2 inch score line along the right-hand edge of the Fine Art Floral DSP. That will be on the inside of the card base. The Fine Art Floral DSP is just laid down for positioning. Do not adhere the DSP yet. Adhere the 1/2 inch portion of the banner-edged card piece to the inside of the Mossy Meadow CS card base.

Now you may adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Fine Art Floral DSP to the inside of the Mossy Meadow CS card base. Follow by adhering the 2 1/4 x 4 inch piece of Fine Art Floral DSP to the card front. Note: These 2 designs are opposite sides of the same piece of DSP.

Adding the Sentiments

Now you can fold the banner-edged card piece across the card front to see how the card closes. Next you will need to position and adhere the sentiment card piece so that it lies under the banner-edged card piece when the card is closed.

Adhere the “Happy Birthday” Whisper White CS oval to the Mossy Meadow CS oval. In order to give the card some dimension, apply Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the Mossy Meadow CS oval.

Finishing Up

To complete the card, adhere the sentiment piece to the card front. Then use Mini Glue Dots to adhere 3 of the Ladybug Trinkets to the card front. Finish the card by adhering a bow, tied with the Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim, just under the sentiment.

Viola! You have a wonderful Fun Fold to send someone Birthday Wishes!

Art Gallery Calendar Fun Fold

Hello and Happy New Year! The Art Gallery Calendar Fun Fold is easy to make with the new Art Gallery stamp set by Stampin’ Up®. The new 2021 January-June Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog is live! If you need a catalog, please see how to request one at the end of this blog.

The Art Gallery Calendar Fun Fold is very simple but does require a little bit of Masking Technique. The little calendar is a tear-off sticky note style and is from Vippies. I have ordered calendars from them for many years.

Measurements

Measurements: Basic White Card Stock (CS): 4 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches scored at 1/2, 3 1/2, 6 1/2 and 7 inches, and 2 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches; Mango Melody CS: 2 3/4 x 5 inches; and Brights Designer Series Paper (DSP) in Poppy Parade: 2 3/4 x 4 inches*. (*more on how to get this DSP under the Joining Special that follows this blog). Note: Whisper White has been replaced by Basic White CS.

Two-Step Stamping

The first step is to apply 2 different colors of ink to the bunch of flowers in the Art Gallery stamp set. By using the corner of the ink pad you can apply the Mango Melody ink just to the flowers.

Switch the ink to Old Olive and again use the corner of the ink pad to apply the Old Olive ink just to the stems and leaf.

Use your breath to “Huff” onto the stamp and moisten the ink a little before stamping onto the bottom of the 2 1/2 x 4 3/4 inch Whisper White CS.

Return to the Mango Melody ink and stamp the large flower onto the top of the Basic White CS card piece.

The Art Gallery flowers are Two-Step stamps. In this way you can easily add dimension to your flower. Use the Poppy Parade ink on the second layer of the large flower, line up the edges and Viola! you have a more interesting flower!

Similarly, use the second layer for the smaller flowers to apply the Poppy Parade ink over the Mango Melody flowers. The second layer of the smaller flowers does not really line up with the edges as well as the second layer of the larger flower, but it still seems to work well.

In order to make the larger flower even more dimensional, I used the second layer for the small flower inked with Merry Merlot ink and stamped it in the center of the large flower.

Masking

Still using the Merry Merlot ink, ink up the bunch of flowers and stamp onto a full sticky note. Fussy cut the flowers as shown. It works best if you cut on the inside edge of the inked image so that you do not get a white halo when you stamp over it.

Now apply the full sticky note paper over the stamped image of the bunch of flowers. Apply Old Olive ink to the stem and leaves stamp and stamp as shown. Be sure to apply firm pressure and hold the stamp in place for about 10 seconds to allow the ink to transfer completely.

Viola! The flowers just look beautiful!

Putting It Together

Start putting the whole project together by adhering the stamped flower card piece to the 2 3/4 x 5 inch Mango Melody CS.

Lay the Basic White CS base on the table with the single score on top and the double score lines on the bottom. Apply Tear & Tape or some other strong adhesive to the 1/2 inch on top. Next adhere the 2 3/4 x 4 inch Brights DSP to the space between the center score line and the top score line at the bottom.

Now flip the stamped card piece over and place over the DSP so you will know where to place the adhesive. Flip the card piece back and adhere to left side of the front.

To finish the front, adhere the sticky note calendar in place.

Folding the Fun Fold Calendar

To complete the Art Gallery Fun Fold Calendar you will need to fold it in half and flip it over so that the flap with the Tear & Tape adhesive is on top.

Peel the strip off of the Tear & Tape and fold the top of the layer underneath down to adhere it.

You will then need to fold the center fold inward to create the stand for the desk calendar.

Viola! You have a beautiful little Art Gallery Calendar!

Dove of Hope- Happy New Year

Hello and Happy New Year! I do not think I am alone in being extremely excited to leave 2020 behind! I truly hope for a much better 2021! On that note I decided to create a New Year’s card with the Dove of Hope stamp set by Stampin’ Up!® and it is a Fun Fold!

The Dove of Hope stamp set by Stampin’ Up!® is another one of my favorite stamps from the 2020 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. I love the versatility of the dove which could be used all year long for wishing a Happy New Year, religious celebrations (baptism, communion, confirmation), weddings and to just share some peace, joy and love.

The Dove of Hope stamp set is retiring but is still available until January 4, 2021. You may click HERE to purchase it. I also used the “Happy New Year” sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set which is in the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog HERE

Measurements

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches with a score line at 3 1/4 inches; Pacific Point CS: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches, 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches and 7/8 x 2 7/8 inches; Coastal Cabana CS: 3 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches; the Brights Designer Series Paper* (DSP): 1) Coastal Cabana DSP: 3 x 5 1/4 inches and 2) Pacific Point DSP: 1 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches; and Whisper White CS: two at 3 x 3 inches and 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches. (*find out how you can get this paper at the end of the blog)

Stamping

Start off by stamping the dove in Pacific Point ink onto one of the 3 x 3 inch Whisper White CS. Add some snowflakes in Coastal Cabana ink. Some of the snowflakes are full strength and others are Stamped Off. This helps to add dimension to your card.

Switching back to the Pacific Point ink, stamp the “Peace Joy Love” sentiment onto the 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Whisper White CS.

In order to use just the part of the sentiment that says “And A Happy New Year” you will need a Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Marker. Color the bottom part of the sentiment, huff on it to moisten it a little, and stamp onto the other 3 x 3 inch Whisper White CS.

Putting it all together

Starting with the inside of the card, adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Pacific Point CS to the inside panel of the Whisper White CS card base. Now adhere the 1 1/2 x 5 1/4 inch Pacific Point DSP to the right hand side.

To finish the inside, adhere the 3 x 3 inch Whisper White CS with the “Happy New Year” sentiment as shown.

Moving on to the card front, adhere the Coastal Cabana DSP to the Coastal Cabana CS. Then adhere the Coastal Cabana card piece to the front of the Whisper White CS card base.

To complete the card front, adhere the dove card piece to the 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch Pacific Point CS and the “Peace Joy Love” sentiment to the 7/8 x 2 7/8 inch Pacific Point CS.

Taking card to place the adhesive only on the left hand side, adhere the dove card piece to the card front. Be mindful of the placement so that the white panel underneath does not show around the dove card piece.

Lastly, apply adhesive to the left hand side of the sentiment and adhere it to the card front.

And Viola! Here’s hoping for more Peace, Joy and Love in 2021!

Sneak Peek-Floating & Fluttering Stampin’ Up!®

Hello fellow stampers! My sneak peak-Floating & Fluttering is from the 2021 January-June Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog! The Mini Catalog, along with Sale-a-bration, will be here January 5, 2021! However, as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I get to order a month early and show you what is in store! (If you would like to be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator click HERE for more information)

I really love butterflies so I appreciate this set.

The Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper (DSP) is yours for free during Sale-a-bration, January 5- February 28, 2021 when you place a $50 order!

Supplies:

Measurements: Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 3 inches; Whisper White CS: 2 1/2 x 4 inches and 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches; Garden Green CS: 3 x 3 1/2 inches; Rich Razzleberry CS: 3 x 3 1/2 inches; Rococo Rose CS: 2 7/8 x 2 7/8 inches, 3 x 3 inches and 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 inches.

Measurements: Oh So Ombre DSP: 3 x 3 inches, 2 7/8 x 4 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Stamping:

Stamp the bunch of butterflies on the 3 x 4 inch pieces of Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry CS in Blackberry Bliss ink.

Continuing with the Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp the frame onto the 2 1/2 x 4 inch Whisper White CS and then stamp “Thank you for your kindness” inside the frame as shown. The sentiment (and the one below) are from the new Dragon Fly Garden stamp set.

“You are an inspiration” is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink onto the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Whisper White CS.

Using the Garden Green ink, stamp the bunch of butterflies onto the 3 x 3 1/2 inch Garden Green CS.

Fussy Cut the above pieces from what you have stamped. Save the remaining pieces for another card. Note: If you have the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine you can cut the pieces with the Fluttering Dies.

Putting It Together:

First, adhere the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Whisper White CS with the sentiment stamped on it to the 3 x 3 inch Rococo Rose CS. Now adhere the 3 x 3 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 inch Rococo Rose CS.

Next adhere the 2 7/8 x 4 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the front panel of the Rich Razzleberry CS card base. Then adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the inside panel.

Lay the inside sentiment piece where you want it and then adhere the piece in place on the inside panel.

Stampin’ Dimensionals are used to adhere the Oh So Ombre DSP/Rococo Rose CS card piece so that it covers the sentiment piece on the inside panel. Note: Only put the Dimensionals on the back of the left hand side and leave the right hand side free. Adhere the stamped frame with the sentiment as shown, again placing the adhesive on the left hand side and avoiding adhesive on the right hand side.

You can use your Bone Folder to curl the all of the butterflies wings slightly. Adhere the Rococo Rose CS butterfly to the inside panel.

Lay out the leaves and butterflies to your liking, then adhere them to the card front.

Finishing Up:

Now for the Bling! The Elegant Faceted Gems have a light pink gem that goes well with the Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry butterflies.

I added a few gems to the butterflies on the front and two to the butterfly on the inside of the card.

Viola! You have a gorgeous card to thank some one and make their day!

I really appreciate you stopping by and visiting today. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

The Floating & Fluttering stamp set and Oh So Ombre paper are not available until January 5, 2021 so I will have to add in the product codes after that.
