Watercoloring with Garden Wishes by Stampin’ Up!®

I have a really fun way to watercolor to demonstrate to you today. The stamp set is Garden Wishes and it is part of the Dandy Garden Suite in the 2021 January-June Stampin’ Up!® mini catalog. Just a reminder that there are less than 2 weeks before the end of Sale-a-bration. More on that at the end of this blog.

This gorgeous watercolor with Garden Wishes is really very easy. You’ll be surprised!

Measurements:

Measurements: Shimmery White Card Stock (CS) card base: 4 1/4 x 11 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches; Granny Apple Green CS: 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches; Daffodil Delight CS: 1 1/8 x 2 1/8 inches; and Shimmery White CS: 1 x 2 inches and 2 1$ x 5 inches.

Watercoloring:

To begin the watercoloring process you will need a clear block. I used the H block. The next step is to apply an even coating of the Daffodil Delight ink by tapping the ink pad onto the clear block. Switch to the Granny Apple Green ink and apply ink to the bottom of the block. Overlap the Daffodil Delight ink a little.

For this step you will need a small spray bottle with a fine misty spray. I have used the spray bottles that my eyeglass cleaner comes in. Spray a fair amount evenly over the ink on the block.

This is the fun part. Flip the block over and center it onto the 2 x 5 inch Shimmery White CS. Press down and watch the color move around. Hold the pressure.

You will need to let the block stay in place for about 10 minutes. I use my heavy tape dispenser to hold the pressure for me.

After the 10 minutes has passed, lift up the clear block. If there are any puddles, dab with a paper towel. Next you will need to let the watercolor dry completely before stamping on it. I am a little impatient, so I used my Heat Tool to help it dry more quickly.

Stamping:

For the stamping, you will use the Memento ink. You may also try Stazon if you wish. I feel that the Stazon is not quite as dark and is more messy to clean up. Either will work well. Stamp the trio of dandelions over your watercolor. Leave the stamp in place for 10 seconds or so to allow the ink to transfer onto the paper. Also, stamp the sentiment “Wishing YOU ALL THE BEST” onto the 1 x 2 inch Shimmery White CS.

Putting It All Together:

Begin to assemble the card pieces by adhering the dandelion card piece to the 2 1/4 x 5 1/4 inch Granny Apple Green CS. Next you will adhere the sentiment to the 1 1/8 x 2 1/8 inch Daffodil Delight CS.

Assemble the front of the card by adhering the dandelion card piece to the right-hand side of the front of the Shimmery White CS card base.

Finish up the assembly using Stampin Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the left-hand side of the front.

Bling!:

I love Bling! To make this watercolor card extra special I added some of the Elegant Faceted Gems with my Take Your Pick tool.

Viola! You have a gorgeous watercolor card that was easy and fun to make!
