Cards 4 Guyz Challenge-Outdoor Barbecue

This Outdoor Barbecue card is made for the Cards 4 Guyz Challenge #239: Use ink and/or Paint.

I used Stampin’ Up! products to make this card. The ink colors are: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate and Memento. The cardstock are: Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White. The stamp set is Outdoor Barbecue. I made the utensils using Silver Foil cardstock and the Apron Builder framelits.

Measurements: Whisper White Card stock (CS): 11 x 4 1/4 scored at 5 1/2 inches, 5 1/8 x 3 7/8 inches and 3 1/8 x 2 1/2 inches; Basic Black 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches and 3 1/4 x 2 5/8 inches. The Silver Roil (not shown) is 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. I later added the red strip to the card front which is 3 7/8 x 1 1/2 inches of Real Red CS .

I stamped the sentiment “Love is in the Air -Oh wait, that’s BBQ” and the grill in Memento ink onto the 3 1/8 x 2 1/2 inch piece of Whisper White CS.

After squeezing the Smoky Slate ink pad, I used the Stampin’ Up! Blender Pen to apply a light color to the grill.

Clean the Blender Pen on a scrap of paper by writing until the tip is clear again. I used the Crumb Cake ink to for the wood on the grill.

The hamburger is done in Crumb Cake ink. The ketchup bottle is in Real Red ink and the flames are in Pumpkin Pie ink.

Next, adhere the stamped piece to the largest Basic Black CS. Adhere this to the card front. Adhere the barbecue grill to the smaller Basic Black CS.

I originally was going to adhere the barbecue grill to the card directly onto the stamped piece. I thought this looked a little “blah”, so I decided to add a Real Red CS strip.

I used the Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the stamped grill piece to add dimension to the card front.

Finally I added the Silver Foil utensils. Viola! You have a really nice card for your favorite guy!
