Framed Florets Mountain Scene for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – November 2022

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Theresa’s Treasures written by Theresa McEntee- USA. I hope you enjoy my Framed Florets Mountain Scene card.

In order to make this card, I used Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Deer and Season of Chic stamp sets. The frames are part of the Framed Florets Dies.

Today everyone is sharing their inspiration from this colorful Scene & Color Challenge. There are several of us hopping today. My Framed Florets Mountain Scene card is just one idea. You will find a list of participants for you to follow along at the end of my blog post. Visit each blog for awesome ideas!

I was very inspired by the gorgeous, colorful mountain scene! The Stampin’ Up! colors match perfectly. Today I am using all of the colors!

I was able to achieve the mountain scene by using the Blending Brushes and a torn piece of copy paper.

Create the Mountain Scene

Trace the inner border of the larger frame from the Framed Florets Dies onto a 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch Basic White card stock(cs). Tear some copy paper strips. Secure the Basic White cs with repositionable tape. Secure the strip of copy paper as well. Start on top with the Fresh Freesia Ink and a Blending Brush. Apply the ink lightly at first. Darken to your liking. Add a small amount of the Orchid Oasis Ink in the upper right corner. Remove the copy paper mask.

Add the Trees

Move the copy paper down a bit and apply the Fresh Freesia Ink again. You may shift the copy paper strip, or even turn it over for variation. Continue moving down and use the Starry Sky Ink. After a couple of layers, use the Evening Evergreen Ink to stamp the trio of pine trees. The trees are in the Peaceful Deer stamp set. Re-apply the copy paper strip at the same level and stamp the smaller trees. Stamp off on some trees. This will give a 3D effect.

Continue to move the copy paper strip down. Switch to the Evening Evergreen Ink. Finish up with the Daffodil Delight Ink. Add a touch of Pumpkin Pie Ink on the bottom left. Tip: The Daffodil Delight Ink layer is in line with the hill under the stamped tree on the left.

Measurements

  • Basic White cs card base: 8 1/2 x 11 inches scored at 4 1/4 inches
  • Basic White cs: 1 x 3 1/4 inches for the sentiment
  • Evening Evergreen cs: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches, 4 x 5 inches for the large frame and 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches for the inner frame.
  • Texture Chic 12×12 inch Designer Series Paper (DSP): 4 x 5 1/4 inches

Note: I Stamped Off with the Fresh Freesia Ink and the paint arch stamp in the Season of Chic stamp set to add a little color to the sentiment background. The sentiment is stamped in Evening Evergreen.

I hope this colorful card has inspired you and hopefully brightened your day.  There are other amazing inspirations for you to see as you hop along this blog hop. Please see the list below. You are at Theresa’s Treasures written by Theresa McEntee. Be sure not to miss anyone!

Let’s make the card!

Measurements

  • Basic White card stock (cs) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches
  • Basic White cs: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches to die cut the large scalloped rectangle and 2 x 3 1/4 inches for the sentiment
  • Blackberry Bliss cs: 1 1/8 x 2 3/8 inches to go behind the sentiment
  • Hues of Happiness DSP; enough to die cut the flowers and leaves needed

Supplies

  • Happiness Abounds stamp set
  • Blossoming Happiness Dies
  • Scalloped Contours Dies (also on sale!)
  • Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder (also on sale!)
  • Blackberry Bliss Ink
  • Foam Adhesive Sheets: one sheet cut into 1/4 inch strips
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue
  • Opal Rounds
  • Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

Instructions

  1. Run the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch Basic White cs through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. Then run it through with the large scalloped rectangle in the Scalloped Contours Dies. Set aside
  2. Use the Blackberry Ink and the “You are wonderful in every way” sentiment. Stamp onto the 2 x 3 1/4 inch Basic White cs. Run this through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the smaller scalloped rectangle in the Scalloped Contours Dies.
  3. Adhere the sentiment to the Blackberry Bliss cs. Set aside.

4. Use the Blossoming Happiness Dies to die cut the flowers from the Hues of Happiness DSP.

Tip: When adding dimension to the card with a large card piece, use the Foam Adhesive sheets cut into 1/4 inch strips. You get more even support of the card piece.

5. Adhere the large embossed scalloped Basic White cs rectangle to the front of the Basic White cs card base with the 1/4 inch strips of the Foam Adhesive Sheets.

6. Adhere the sentiment with the 1/4 inch Foam Adhesive strips. Use a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals in the center of the larger flower to adhere it. Add the smaller flower and leaves by sliding them under the larger flower. I use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue for this. It is easier to slide the card pieces.

7. Add the Opal Rounds and Voila! you have a very elegant card!
