Seaside Wishes & Beauty of the Deep team up for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop-February 2025

Hello fellow stampers! I am Theresa McEntee-author of Theresa’s Treasures Paper Crafts Blog. I am hopping along with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop today. You can visit super awesome blogs from around the world and get inspiration for your own projects! The list to follow the hop is at the end of my blog post. Please stop by and see everyone’s projects!

The Theme for February 2025

The Ink & Inspiration Challenge for February 2025 is both an image and a color challenge. I was primarily inspired by the beautiful, vibrant colors. The underwater image was intriguing.

My Card

I started to make this card by finding any sea-related stamp sets I had. I came up with Seaside Wishes and Beauty of the Deep. Seaside Wishes is still available as a bundle which includes both the dies and the hybrid embossing folder with the stamp set. The Beauty of the Deep stamp set and dies are sold separately.

Measurements

  • Azure Afternoon cardstock card base: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at
    4 1/4″
  • Basic White cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/4″ (for the background), 2 1/4″ x 3″ (for sentiment), 3 3/4″ x 5″ (for inside of card) and 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ (for inside strip)
  • Calypso Coral cardstock: enough to die cut a large coral from the Beauty of the Deep dies, one large starfish and 3 small starfish from Seaside Wishes stamp and dies, and two stamped coral from Beauty of the Deep.
  • Azure Afternoon cardstock: 3″ x 3″ for the large sand dollar.
  • Coastal Cabana cardstock: 2 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for two small sand dollars.
  • Summer Splash cardstock: enough to stamp 5 vines of seaweed from the Beauty of the Deep stamp set.
  • Melon Mambo cardstock: enough to cut 3 of the stick-like coral from Beauty of the Deep dies.
  • Cajun Craze cardstock: enough to die cut nine of the small bush-like coral.

Supplies

  • Stamp Sets: Beauty of the Deep, Seaside Wishes and Layering Leaves (sentiment)
  • Dies: Beauty of the Deep, Seaside Wishes and Linked Together (oval for sentiment)
  • Embossing Folder: Seaside Wishes hybrid
  • Ink: Azure Afternoon, Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo, Summer Splash and Versamark
  • Embossing Powder: Clear and White from the Basics Embossing Powder set
  • Embellishments: Two Tone Sparkle Gems and Wink of Stella
  • Misc.: Blending Brushes, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Instructions

  1. I started this off by stamping with the colored ink then using Clear Emboss Powder over it for the vines of seaweed, starfish, and stamped coral. I kept making the images until I had several to create with. NOTE: the short fat coral is stamped in Cajun Craze Ink onto Calypso Coral cardstock, then covered in Clear Emboss Powder and heat set.
  2. Next I started to die cut stuff. As stated above, I die cut several of the different types of coral.
  3. To create the sand dollar, I stamped in Versamark and used the White Emboss Powder. I then put the sand dollar through the hybrid embossing folder/dies. With my fingers I made the sand dollars curve more to give them dimension.
  4. The background was created using the Summer Splash, Coastal Cabana and Azure Afternoon Inks with Blending Brushes. I also made a 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ inch strip to go on the inside.
  1. Now I had numerous images to work with so I started placing them on the card base to see how it looked. Play around with your own ideas until you like what you see.
  2. Once I had it figured out, I started gluing it down. The center of the sand dollars have 2 Stampin’ Dimensionals piled on top of each other for more dimension. The sentiment is adhered with a single layer of Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  3. Finish it up with the Wink of Stella and Two Tone Sparkle Gems!

¡Voila!

I hope you enjoyed my interpretation of this color and image challenge. Stop by everyone’s Blog to see more ideas using the same colors and/or image theme. You are at Theresa McEntee-USA right now.

Painted Lavendar & Hot Air Balloon for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop-January 2024

Hello fellow stampers! I am Theresa McEntee-author of Theresa’s Treasures Paper Crafts. I am hopping along with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop today. You can visit super awesome blogs from around the world! The list to follow the hop is at the end of my blog post. Please stop by and see everyone’s projects!

The Ink & Inspiration Challenge is both an image and a color challenge. I was inspired by the image because I love spring flowers and look forward to my flower garden blooming each year. I absolutly love all of the colors! They are so vibrant and happy!

I grew up in Albuquerque New Mexico USA which is the Hot Air Balloon Capital of the World! Each year there is a Balloon Fiesta which lasts a whole week. There were over 500 hot air balloons at the 2023 Fiesta, which was attended by over 900,000 visitors! When Stampin’ Up!® brought out the Hot Air Balloon Bundle in the 2024 Mini Catalog- I was ecstatic! I could not wait to use the Hot Air Balloons with the Painted Lavender Bundle for this challenge.

Measurements

  • Azure Afternoon cardstock (cs) card base: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
  • Azure Afternoon cs: 4″x 5 1/4″ (1st layer)
  • Highland Heather Glimmer Paper: 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″
  • Basic White cs: two 3 3/4″ x 5″ (diecut with Perennial Postage Die-one for front & one for inside), 2″ x 4″ (to stamp balloon and diecut clouds) and 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ (sentiment)
  • Melon Mambo cs: 2″ x 2 1/2″ to die cut balloon gandola

Supplies

  • Stamp Sets: Painted Lavender & Hot Air Balloon
  • Dies: Perennial Postage & Hot Air Balloon
  • Embossing Folder: Painted Textures
  • Ink: Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather and Azure Afternoon
  • Embellishments: Wink of Stella
  • Other: Blending Brush

Instructions

  1. Fold the card base at the score line and burnish with the Bone Folder.
  2. Emboss the 1st layer with the Painted Textures Embossing Folder (EF). Adhere to the front of the card base.
  3. Diecut the 2 Basic White cs panels for the front & inside with the 2nd to largest Perennial Postage Die.
  4. Stamp the 1st part of the balloon envelope with Highland Heather Ink. Stamp the 2nd part with Azure Afternoon Ink. Stamp the sentiment onto the 1/2″ Basic White cs in the middle of the strip with Azure Afternoon Ink.
  5. On one diecut Basic White cs panel, use the Blending Brush with Azure Afternoon Ink to lightly blend a cloudy sky. On the 2nd Basic White cs diecut Basic White cs, blend the ink along the edges.
  1. To finish the 2nd panel for the inside of the card, use Granny Apple Green Ink. Stamp the grass from the Painted Lavender stamp set in the lower right-hand corner, going from tall to short as you move left. Add the tiny flowers in the Highland Heather Ink. Adhere to the inside of the Azure Afternoon cs card base.

  1. Go back to the 1st Basic White diecut for the front of the card. The flowers & grass are from the Painted Lavender stamp set. Stamp the grass in Granny Apple Green Ink on either side of the bottom edge. Then stamp the small tight bunch of flowers in Melon Mambo on either side and in the middle. Stamp the tiny flowers in Highland Heather Ink. Next, stamp the tall thin stalk of flowers in Daffodil Delight Ink to fill in. Finally, stamp the wider stalk of flowers in Poppy Parade Ink.

  1. Adhere to the Highland Heather Glimmer Paper. Tip: I use one of the Deckled Rectangle Dies to cut the center out of the Glimmer Paper diecut. This helps decrease the weight of the card and you have more Glimmer Paper to play with later!

  1. Stick the Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back so that they are attached to both the Glimmer Paper and the Basic White cs. Adhere to the card front.
  2. Adhere 2 of the clouds flat and the 3rd cloud on Dimensionals.
  3. Adhere the 2 pieces of the gondola together. Then adhere it to the balloon envelope.
  4. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the balloon to the card front.
  5. Adhere the sentiment to the corner before you trim the edges. This way it will fit nicely.

I hope you give this card a try. I had such fun designing it and putting it together! Hopefully you will have fun too!

Let’s Set Sail for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – July 2022- Scene and Color Inspiration

Hello everyone!  I’m so glad that you’re visiting today and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop again this month! We are sharing inspiration from this lovely summer Scene & Color Challenge. There are several of us hopping today. You will find the list to follow along at the end of my blog post.

I was inspired mostly by the colors and used all of them! I really liked the idea of the sailboat too.

Creating the Card Yourself

Start by putting the Rays of Light stamp in the Stamparatus. Using a Sponge Dauber, apply the ink starting with Daffodil Delight Ink around the center of the rays. Next apply Mango Melody Ink in a circle around the Daffodil Delight Ink. Follow with Poppy Parade Ink. Finish up by applying Blackberry Bliss Ink on the edges of the stamp. Huff on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp onto a 3 3/4 x 5 inch Basic White card stock. Repeat this process on a second 3 3/4 x 5 inch Basic White CS. You will use the second stamped Rays of Light card piece for the inside of the card.

In Smoky Slate Ink, stamp some birds around the center of the rays of light. Use the Smoky Slate Ink to stamp the sentiment “Adventure Awaits” onto a 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch strip of Basic White card stock. Use the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut out the sentiment.

Stamp the sailboat in Blackberry Bliss Ink onto a scrap of Basic White card stock. Use the Sailboat Builder Punch. Stamp each sail in Blackberry Bliss Ink and use the Sailboat Builder Punch. You will end up with 2 sails and a boat with a mast and flag.

Stamp the water in Pacific Point Ink onto a 2 x 6 inch Basic White card stock. Fussy cut.

Putting it all together

Adhere the Rays of Light card piece to a 4 x 5 1/4 inch Blackberry Bliss card stock. Then adhere the combo to the Pacific Point card stock card base (4 1/4 x 11 inches scored at 5 1/2 inches).

Trim a 1/2 inch strip off the right-hand edge of the second copy of the stamped Rays of Light. Adhere this to a 4 x 5 1/4 inch Basic White card stock. There will be a border around it. Adhere the card piece to the inside panel of the Pacific Point card stock card base.

Trim the stamped water to 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the water to the bottom of the card front.

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment. Finish by adhering the boat followed by the sails-all on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope this card has inspired you and hopefully brightened your day.  There are other amazing inspirations for you to see as you hop along this blog hop. Please see the list below. You are at Theresa’s Treasures written by Theresa McEntee-USA. Be sure not to miss anyone!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
