Dove of Hope to wish Peace, Joy, and Love

Recent events can sometimes make it hard to have hope for a good future. Nonetheless I am hopeful that Peace, Joy, and Love as stated on today’s card will prevail. This is a wonderful message to send out for the holidays. This card could also be sent for a Confirmation or First Communion, or just encouragement during these hard times.

Stampin’ Up!’s Dove of Hope stamp set also comes with Detailed Dove Dies in a Bundle saving you 10%. I made this card with the Beginner Stamper in mind, so I did not use the dies.

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS): 4 1/4 x 1 inches with a score line at 5 1/2 inches (this is the card base), 4 x 5 1/4 inches, 2 3/4 x 3 1/2 inches and a 1/2 x 4 1/8 inch strip; Night of Navy CS: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches; Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Use Memento ink to stamp the dove in the upper left hand corner of the 2 3/4 x 3 1/2 inch Whisper White CS.

Stamp the berry branch under the dove with the Memento ink.

Use the Night of Navy ink to stamp the sentiment “Peace Joy Love” onto the 1/2 x 4 1/8 inch Whisper White CS strip. Tip: When stamping the sentiment, line up the capital letters to get the sentiment on straight.

Use Balmy Blue and Highland Heather ink to stamp a flurry of snowflakes on the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS. This will be the inside of the card.

Adhere the Whisper White CS with the flurry of snowflakes to the inside of the 4 1/4 x 11 inch Whisper White CS card base.

Adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Artistry Blooms DSP to the 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inch Night of Navy CS, then adhere the piece to the front of the Whisper White CS card Base.

To color the berry branch and dove I used the Stampin’ Write Markers in Real Red, Shaded Spruce and Smoky Slate.

Adhere the colored dove card piece and the sentiment strip to the card front.

And now for the Bling! I just love adding sparkle to a card! The Artistry Blooms Sequins have many different colors to add a little sparkle to just about any card!

I added a little bit of the sequins here and there until I felt satisfied with the overall look. Tip: Transferring the sequins is a breeze with the Take Your Pick tool.

Viola! You now have another fabulous Christmas or Holiday card ready to send out!

Thanks so much for visiting today. I really appreciate you! Please let me hear your thoughts by commenting. Thanks again!

Have a relaxing and creative day!

Sneak Peek- Warm and Toasty

The Stampin’ Up! 2020 Holiday Mini Catalog will go live on Tuesday August 4, 2020! Yes, I know it seems early to start thinking about the holidays. But think of it this way-if you start making your holiday cards now, you will be able to send them out on time! And there is no rush or stress! You have plenty of time to choose the right stamp set and get started.

This jolly polar bear is part of an adorable Stampin’ Up! stamp set with bunnies, a reindeer and cute little mice. It’s called Warm & Toasty.

Measurements: Whisper White Card Stock (CS): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch card base with a scoreline at 4 1/4 inches, 3 3/4 x 5 inches and 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches; Purple Posy CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches and 2 x 4 inches; Balmy Blue CS: 4 x 5 1/4 inches; Pacific Point CS: 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches; and Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper: 1 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches.

Ink: Memento Black ink. Balmy Blue and Highland Heather Stampin’ Up! inks. Stampin’ Blends colors: Light and Dark Purple Posy, and Light and Dark Balmy Blue.

Using the Memento Black ink, stamp the polar bear onto the 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch Whisper White CS, leaving space to stamp the sentiment “here’s to a cool yule” in the lower left-hand corner.

Use the Memento black ink to stamp the baby polar bear onto the lower right-hand corner and the sentiment “warm & toasty” in the center of the 3 3/4 x 5 inch Whisper White CS. Add snowflakes using the Balmy Blue and Highland Heather inks.

Now use the Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers in Balmy Blue and Purple Posy to color the polar bears scarf and hat.

Adhere the colored polar bear to the 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 inch Pacific Point CS.

Adhere the baby polar bear piece to the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Purple Posy CS.

Adhere the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper by using an adhesive around the edge only. The Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue worked well and did not show through.

Adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Balmy Blue CS to the front of the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch Whisper White CS card base after using the Bone Folder to fold the card base at the 4 1/4 inch score line. Adhere the Plush Poinsettia/Purple Posy CS piece to the left side of the card front.

Adhere the baby polar bear to the inside of the Whisper White CS card base.

There is a new product in the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog that I wanted to try called Foam Adhesive Sheets. These are like the Stampin’ Dimensionals but they are not cut into small hexagons. I cut them into 1/4 inch strips and applied them to the back of the skating polar bear card piece. This is much easier for me (and my arthritis) than trying to peel off a bunch of the Dimensionals.

Adhere the skating polar bear to the card front and then adhere a bow tied with the new Snowflake Splendor 1/4 inch Ribbon. Sparkly!

Of course, no card of mine is complete without some Bling! I added some more sparkle with the Artistry Blooms Self-Adhesive Sequins. I used the Take Your Pick tool to easily transfer the sequins from the sheet to the card.

I also added some Bling! to the inside of the card!

Viola! You now have one holiday card already made! This one is really very simple to reproduce. I made several to send to my customers with their catalogs.
