It’s Okay for the Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop- March 2025

Hello fellow crafters and stampers! I am Theresa McEntee-author of Theresa’s Treasures Paper Crafts blog. I am hopping along with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop group today. You can visit super awesome blogs from around the world! The list to follow the hop is at the end of my blog post. Please stop by and see everyone’s projects!

My card is made using the It’s Okay cling stamp set!

The Ink & Inspiration Challenge for March 2025 is Sketch Challenge #108. I was having a hard time with this sketch. I just wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. My card sort of happened rather that being planned. Has that ever happened to you? Ususally I sketch out my ideas first.

One type of card I like is the vintage look. I can’t say I am very good at it. I do admire other peoples vintage projects. So I tried a couple of techniques on this card.

Measurements

  • Crumb Cake cardstock card base: 4 1/4″ x 11″ with a score
    line at 5 1/2″

Instructions

Stamping the Components

  1. Stamp the butterfly onto the 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ Petunia Pop cardstock. Stamp two more butterflies onto the scrap of Petunia Pop cardstock. Fussy cut the two stamped on the scrap paper. You can cut the antennae off of one of the butterflies.
  2. On the butterfly with the antennae remaining, use a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to darken the antennae and body. Then use the Dark Berry Burst Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Marker to make an outline around the inner wings. (see close up photos above)
  3. Fold the fussy-cut butterflies in half. Apply two Mini Black Dimensionals to the center of the butterfly without the antennae. Adhere over the stamped butterfly on the square of Petunia Pop cardstock. Then apply glue to the center of the butterfly with the antennae. Adhere to the butterfly that has the Dimensionals on it. separate the wings for a 3D effect.
  4. Use the edge of the Paper Snips to distress the edges of the Petunia Pop card stock square. Set aside.
  5. Now stamp the leaves in Shaded Spruce Ink onto the two
1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ Shaded Spruce cardstock squares. Then stamp another two bunches of leaves in Shaded Spruce Ink onto the scrap of Shaded Spruce. Fussy cut the two largest leaves from the scrap.
  6. Fold the fussy-cut leaves in half. Apply glue to the center and adhere over the leaves stamped on the square of Shaded Spruce card stock. Bend the sides up for a 3D effect.
  7. Use the edge of the Paper Snips to distress the edges. Set aside.
  8. Use the Petunia Pop Ink to stamp the sentiment “Inhale. Exhale.” onto the strip of Very Vanilla card stock. Cut the ends at a diagonal with your Paper Snips. Set aside.

Stamping the Inside

  1. Stamp the Very Vanilla card stock for the inside as shown below.
  1. Adhere the inside to the inside of the Crumb Cake card stock card base.

Creating the Front Panel

  1. Use the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder to emboss the panel of Crumb Cake card stock.
  2. With the Stampin’ Blending Brush, apply Pecan Pie Ink to the panel as desired for a vintage effect. Then use the edge of your Paper Snips to distress the edges. It is okay if the paper tears somewhat.
  3. Flatten the Crumb Cake card stock out. Wrap 6″ of the Beige Bordered Ribbon around the middle of the panel. Secure to the back with Mini Glue Dots.

Assembling the Card

  1. Apply Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the corrugated panel. Adhere the panel to the front of the Crumb Cake card stock card base.
  2. Adhere the Shaded Spruce card stock squares to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  3. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the Petunia Pop card stock butterfly to the card front.
  4. Use Mini Glue Dots and a little glue to adhere the bow.
  5. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment.
  6. Finish with the Textured Dots Embellishment! Don’t forget to add Wink of Stella on the leaves and butterfly!

!Voila!

Stampin’ Up!® Soar Confidently

Hello fellow crafters! I hope you are all doing well this week. Today’s card is made with Stampin’ Up!® Soar Confidently. This is a set that looks very vintage to me. Today’s card is a Simple Stamping card, perfect for the beginner stamper!

I love the simplicity of this card. This is definitely a very quick and simple card to make. I think this card with the words of encouragement would make a great Graduation wish.

Measurements

Measurements: Night Of Navy Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; Whisper White CS: 2 1/4 x 4 3/4 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches (not pictured); Neutrals 6 x 6 inch Designer Series Paper (DSP) in Night Of Navy: 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Stamping

Start stamping with Night Of Navy ink and stamp the sentiment “Soar Confidently In Your Own Sky” onto the bottom of the 2 1/4 x 4 3/4 inch Whisper White CS. Next stamp the hot air balloon image above the sentiment. Note: This is a red rubber stamp which can be stamped upon a firm surface. I have a scrap paper underneath in preparation of the next step. The black paper is just to allow you to see the card piece better.

The next step is to add a few more balloons, but to use the Stamping Off Technique. This means that after applying ink to the stamp, you first stamp onto a scrap paper, then onto the card piece. This is a great way to add dimension to the images on your card.

To conclude the stamping, stamp a hot air balloon on the right-hand side of the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS. Finish up using the Stamping Off Technique for the next 2 balloon images. This will be the inside panel of your card.

Putting the Card Together

Use your Bone Folder in order to make a crisp fold on the Night Of Navy CS card base. Begin to put the card together by adhering the inside panel onto the inside of the Night Of Navy card base.

Similarly, adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Night Of Navy 6 x 6 inch Designer Series Paper to the front of the card base.

Complete the card by first adding Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment card piece. Finish by adhering the sentiment card piece to the card front slightly to the left-hand side.

Viola! You have made a quick and simple card that would be a great masculine Graduation card or just a card with words of encouragement. Also, you could use the image and stamp a different sentiment to make a nice masculine birthday card or thank you card if you wish.

Thank you for stopping by today. I have a new plan for the New Year. On Tuesdays I will be publishing a #simplestamping post, starting a Technique blog for a Wacky Wednesday post, and will continue the Fun Fold Friday posts. I hope you will enjoy all of them!

Kylie Bertucci’s Top 10 International Blog Winners Hop September 2020- Country Home Thank You

I am so honored and excited to be participating in today’s Top 10 Winners Hop! I won a spot in the Top Ten from Kylie’s International Blog Highlight. I thank everyone who voted for my card in that hop. I was feeling very creative for this card and I hope you like it. I can’t wait to see everyone’s projects!

I used a number of stamp sets for this card. I really like to mix and match! Country Home is where you will find the milk can and flowers. The “Thank You” sentiment and the script pattern are from Very Versailles. The remainder of the stamps are from: Gathered Together, Comfort & Hope and Forever Fern. Stampin’ Up!® ink colors include: Misty Moonlight, Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, and Early Espresso.

I have been really enjoying the versatility you get with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. From the outside in on the milk can, I blended Dark Smoky Slate, Light Smokey Slate and Light Gray Granite. The flower arrangement has Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade and Calypso Coral.

I continued some of the design from the front to the inside of the card. The tiles from Country Home are stamped in Misty Moonlight. The grid pattern from Comfort & Hope is in Cinnamon Cider. The Forever Fern leaves are in Just Jade. The little splatter pattern stamped in Early Espresso (most are Stamped Off) is also from Forever Fern.

Techniques used to make this card include: Masking, Sponging, and Stamping Off.

Thank you so much for visiting today! You are at Theresa McEntee/Theresa’s Treasures. Have a very creative day!
