Bunny Rabbit

Hi Everyone! Hope your Saturday is going well. I am still in a splint from my joint replacement surgery, but I am doing well.

Here is another card that my stamping friend Karen designed and I made with her before my surgery. I just love this bunny rabbit! This is a very simple card but isn’t it soooo cute!

I hope you continue to enjoy the Springtime! I will keep you posted and hope to be demonstrating a card soon!

Healing

Well, I have had a time of it! I had a joint replaced in my right middle finger on March 18th. The joint failed and had to be revised with a second surgery on March 25th. As a result, I am crafting with just the left hand and it is slow going.

I did want to share this cute card I made with my stamping friend Karen. It is her design. Isn’t it so cute! It is made with the Stampin’ Up! Fable Friends stamp set.

Sale-a-bration is only until the end of this week! If you want the Fable Friends set order now because it will not be available after Sunday March 31st!

Stampin’ Up! products used on this card include: Stamp Set: Fable Friends #148670; Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso and Whisper White; Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper; Punch: Duet Banner; Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins and the items used with the Big Shot: Layering Oval Framelits and the Basket Weave Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I apologize for the short post. I am going to have to let this second joint heal up well. I will post another card soon!

Where are Mother Goose and her goslings going?

They are going to a Birthday party! Isn’t this such a sweet card? Stampin’ Up!’s Fable Friends stamp set really lends itself to cuteness! This card is surprisingly easy to make!

Measurements: Whisper White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches scored and folded at 4 1/4 inches, Balmy Blue 5 1/4 x 4 inches, Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper 5 1/4 x 2 inches, Whisper White 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches.

Additional products used for this card are: Stampin’ Up! Granny Apple Green ink pad, Memento ink pad, Stampin’ Write Markers in Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Petal Pink, Pacific Point, Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set.

First stamp the “Happiest Birthday to You” sentiment in the upper left hand corner of the 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 inch piece of Whisper White. Tip: Use the Stampin’ Pierce Mat under your cardstock since this stamp is a Photopolymer stamp.

Now stamp the little goslings in the lower left hand corner. Tip: Since this is a red rubber stamp you get the best image when stamping on a firm surface.

Stamp Mother Goose in the lower right had corner. How adorable!

Using the Granny Apple Green ink, stamp the little tufts of grass around randomly.

The most difficult part of this card is the coloring. Use a light touch so the ink does not bleed out of the lines. Starting with the Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Write marker, color Mother Goose’s rain hat. Tip: Use the brush tip to get an even color for most areas. I only use the fine tip for very thin images like Mother Goose’s legs.

Use the Pacific Point Stampin’ Write marker to color Mother Gooses’s cape. Tip:To make the pocket visible, I colored around it using 2 layers of marker, then went over the pocket with only one layer of marker.

Use the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write marker to color the little goslings’ hat. Now use the Balmy Blue Stampin’ Write marker to color a couple of the goslings’ shirts.

Next use the Petal Pink Stampin’ Write marker for the strings on the gosling’s hat and the remaining shirt. Use the Mango Melody Stampin’ Write marker to color Mother Goose’s beak and all of the feet.

Here is the completely colored card piece.

Adhere the Gingham Gala Designer Series paper to the middle of the Balmy Blue card piece. Then adhere the piece to the Whisper White card front.

Apply the Stampin Dimensionals to the back of the Mother Goose card piece.

Peel off the back of the Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhere the Mother Goose card piece to the card front.

Sweet Baby Bunny

I just love Springtime with all the baby animals I see out in the desert! I used to have a pet bunny, a miniature Lion Head named Snowball. Yes, I know, not a very creative name, but it fit. Snowball loved to lay on his back on my lap. He would actually fall asleep that way! And as you can see I am also a fan of Thumper!

Today’s card showcases the cute bunny in Stampin’ Up!’s Fable Friends stamp set. It is very fitting for a baby card.

Measurements: Whisper White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches scored and folded at 4 1/4 inches, Balmy Blue 5 1/4 x 4 inches and 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches, Gingham Gala Designer Series paper 5 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches, Whisper White 3 1/2 x 2 inches and a strip that is 5/8 inches wide. You also need 1/2 of a Pearlized Doily.

You will need Stampin’ Up!’s Balmy Blue ink, Memento ink and Stampin’ blends in Light Crumb Cake, Dark Crumb Cake, Light Balmy Blue and Light Petal Pink. You will also need the Stampin’ Write Pineapple Punch marker (not shown),

Lastly, you will need a package of Stampin’ Up!’s Pearl Basic Jewels.

The first step is to stamp the “Sweet Baby” sentiment on the 5/8 inch strip of Whisper White using the Balmy Blue ink. Cut to about 2 1/4 inches long.

To cut the banner end, first make a cut in at the center. Next cut from either corner to the center. Viola! You have a nice, even banner edge! Set this aside.

Use the Memento ink to stamp the bunny image on the 3 1/2 x 2 inch piece of Whisper White.

Starting off with the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend, color the face, paws and body with one layer of marker. On another bunny, I had gone over the marker a second time and it made the face too dark.

Use the Dark Crumb Cake to add a little shading.

Now use the Light Crumb Cake to blend the Dark Crumb Cake. The shadow on the side of the face and on the belly under the shirt is just a second layer of the Light Crumb Cake.

Color the little jacket with Light Balmy Blue.

Add a second layer of the Light Balmy Blue to create the shadows.

Color the inside of the ears with the Light Petal Pink.

I used the Stampin’ Write Marker in Pineapple Punch for the buttons. Isn’t this little bunny so adorable?

Adhere the bunny card piece to the 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 piece of Balmy Blue.

Now adhere the Gingham Gala Designer series paper to the 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of Balmy Blue. Adhere this piece to the Whisper White card base.

Adhere one half of the Pearlized Doily to the back of the bunny card piece.

Use the Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the bunny and doily card piece.

Adhere the bunny piece to the card front.

Add some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and adhere it to the card front as shown.

I wanted to make this card a little more special so I added a large pearl next to the sentiment and 2 little pearls on the doily. The easiest way to adhere the pearls is by using the Paper Piercing Tool to transfer them.

You can also use other colors to make baby cards in green, yellow or pink, depending on the situation. It is nice to have stash so you are ready when a baby card is needed!
