Today’s card for the Cardz4Guyz Challenge #263- Any Sport, deviates from my usual in that I am using a stamp that is not from Stampin’ Up!®. I just love the Peanuts and Snoopy, and Snoopy playing soccer seemed to be the best choice for this challenge.
I did use the new Stampin’ Up!® Blending Brushes to create the background. I first stamped Snoopy on the card front, then used a mask over him while applying the background.
I used Balmy Blue, Granny Apply Green and Mango Melody ink. The Blending Brushes are very easy to use. I will still need a little practice to get the background more uniform. Snoopy’s jersey is colored with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers in Light and Dark Mango Melody.
The soccer balls stamped along the side of the card are from a retired Stampin’ Up!® stamp set called Great Sport. Check out other sports related cards at Cardz4Guyz Challenge #263. Have a great fun-filled day!
When I was growing up in New Mexico, my parents would take us camping frequently- all 8 us. We had a huge canvas tent that was blue and yellow- not very inconspicuous. We went all over New Mexico and I have many fond memories. This card reminds me of those campouts, minus the blue and yellow tent, and is perfect for the Cardz4Guyz challenge to Explore Outdoors.
The stamp set I used is the Stampin’ Up! Campology which is in the Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. I stamped the images in Memento ink and colored with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. The colors I used are: Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Gray Granite, Smokey Slate, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, So Saffron and Poppy Parade.
Inside the card I stamped a coffee pot and mug. I just love the smell of the campfire and the feeling I get when drinking a hot cup of coffee early in the morning while camping.
I hope you enjoyed my card. Go by the Cardz4Guyz blog and see other cards from this Challenge #252 Explore Outdoors.
Thanks for stopping by. I really enjoy participating in these challenges. I have often struggled with making a nice masculine card. The Cardz4Guyz Challenges help give me new ideas and inspiration!
Hello! I hope today finds you well. I am joining the Cardz 4 Guyz challenge #241- Use a Stencil- at cardz4guyz.blogspot.com. My card today was made with the brick wall stencil from Stampin’ Up! Pattern Party Decorative Masks and some White Embossing Paste.
I used the Geared Up Garage stamp set by Stampin’ Up!
Using Embossing Paste
Here’s how to use the Embossing Paste. Before you start to play with the paste, cut the card pieces and have the stencils ready to go. Also have a dishpan full of water with a scrub sponge. The paste likes to dry and stick to the stencil, so if you scrub it off right away you can keep the stencil looking good.
Use Painters tape to secure the corners of the stencil on one side to a piece of paper. Slide the piece of card stock under the stencil and secure the other two corners of the stencil. I used 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch pieces of card stock, so that I could trim them later as desired.
Pick up a fair amount of the Embossing Paste with the Diamond trowel from the set of Palette Knives Stampin’ Up! offers. Start to spread it out onto the stencil.
Keep the jar of Embossing Paste covered with a wet towel between applications so that the paste does not dry out.
Spread the paste back and forth until you are satisfied. Keeping it a little thicker in some places than others adds to the texture.
Remove the Painters tape on one side and slide the card stock piece out. Let dry for a few hours or overnight before trying to use the piece to make a card.
I made a whole bunch of card pieces. I have heard that even when the jar is screwed tight, the Embossing Paste can dry out. So I decided to just use the whole jar in one day!
