The Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper (DSP) is yours for free during Sale-a-bration, January 5- February 28, 2021 when you place a $50 order!

Supplies:

Measurements: Rich Razzleberry Card Stock (CS) card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 3 inches; Whisper White CS: 2 1/2 x 4 inches and 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches; Garden Green CS: 3 x 3 1/2 inches; Rich Razzleberry CS: 3 x 3 1/2 inches; Rococo Rose CS: 2 7/8 x 2 7/8 inches, 3 x 3 inches and 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 inches.

Measurements: Oh So Ombre DSP: 3 x 3 inches, 2 7/8 x 4 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Stamping:

Stamp the bunch of butterflies on the 3 x 4 inch pieces of Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry CS in Blackberry Bliss ink.

Continuing with the Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp the frame onto the 2 1/2 x 4 inch Whisper White CS and then stamp “Thank you for your kindness” inside the frame as shown. The sentiment (and the one below) are from the new Dragon Fly Garden stamp set.

“You are an inspiration” is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink onto the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Whisper White CS.

Using the Garden Green ink, stamp the bunch of butterflies onto the 3 x 3 1/2 inch Garden Green CS.

Fussy Cut the above pieces from what you have stamped. Save the remaining pieces for another card. Note: If you have the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine you can cut the pieces with the Fluttering Dies.

Putting It Together:

First, adhere the 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch Whisper White CS with the sentiment stamped on it to the 3 x 3 inch Rococo Rose CS. Now adhere the 3 x 3 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 inch Rococo Rose CS.

Next adhere the 2 7/8 x 4 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the front panel of the Rich Razzleberry CS card base. Then adhere the 4 x 5 1/4 inch Oh So Ombre DSP to the inside panel.

Lay the inside sentiment piece where you want it and then adhere the piece in place on the inside panel.

Stampin’ Dimensionals are used to adhere the Oh So Ombre DSP/Rococo Rose CS card piece so that it covers the sentiment piece on the inside panel. Note: Only put the Dimensionals on the back of the left hand side and leave the right hand side free. Adhere the stamped frame with the sentiment as shown, again placing the adhesive on the left hand side and avoiding adhesive on the right hand side.

You can use your Bone Folder to curl the all of the butterflies wings slightly. Adhere the Rococo Rose CS butterfly to the inside panel.

Lay out the leaves and butterflies to your liking, then adhere them to the card front.

Finishing Up:

Now for the Bling! The Elegant Faceted Gems have a light pink gem that goes well with the Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry butterflies.

I added a few gems to the butterflies on the front and two to the butterfly on the inside of the card.

Viola! You have a gorgeous card to thank some one and make their day!

I really appreciate you stopping by and visiting today. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

The Floating & Fluttering stamp set and Oh So Ombre paper are not available until January 5, 2021 so I will have to add in the product codes after that.

Sending Positive Thoughts

So much of life is just, well difficult. We all have our struggles. Sending a handmade card with positive thoughts can really make someone’s day and lift their spirits.

This card is very colorful, springy and sends a positive message. The colors are Mint Macaron, So Saffron, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather.

I used the Stampin’ Up! Positive Thoughts stamp set which is available in the 2020 Mini Catalog.

Measurements: Whisper White card stock (CS): 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches with a score at 4 1/4 inches, 5 x 3 3/4 inches and 4 x 2 inches; Garden Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP): 5 1/4 x 4 inches.

The technique I am going to show you today is Multi-layer Stamping. This is when you stamp several layers on top of each other. It is much easier than you would think!

Start with the main sentiment “Sending positive thoughts and feel good wishes” in Balmy Blue ink.

Use a scrap paper to stamp off before stamping the next image of this sentiment. Stamping Off is when you ink your stamp, stamp on the scrap paper, then stamp on your card front.

Do this several times, Stamping Off each time, until you reach the top of the card front. Do not worry if each line is not perfectly straight. It will not be that obvious once you add the rest of the images.

Use the Mint Macaron ink to stamp the leaf onto the card front. Stamp a second time without re-inking to the right of the first leaf. Mine is so light it is difficult to see in this photo.

Stamp the flowers in So Saffron ink at full strength.

Stamp three of the butterflies in Highland Heather ink onto the 4 x 2 inch Whisper White CS.

Cut out the butterflies with your paper snips. If you do happen to have a Big Shot or other die cutting machine, there are Natures Thoughts Dies available for this stamp set.

To make the butterflies pop off of the card, use the Bone Folder to bend the wings back a bit. Do this gently so you do not tear the wing off.

Use the Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of each butterfly.

Adhere the butterflies to the left upper side of the card front.

Fold the Whisper White CS 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch card base at the 4 1/4 inch score line and use the Bone Folder to make a crisp fold. Next, adhere the 5 1/4 x 4 inch Garden Lane DSP to the front panel of the Whisper White CS card base.

Adhere the stamped card front onto to the Garden Lane DSP layer.

And now for some Bling! I used the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on the butterflies.

It is very hard to get a good photo of how sparkly this is. Try it and see for yourself!

And Viola! You now have a handmade card to send positive thoughts to someone to brighten their day!

Thank you again for joining me today. I hope you can find some creative time today and make something to spread some positive thoughts and kindness. We all need more kindness in today’s world! Be the change you want to see!

Butterflies in Winter

One of the scenes I love in Spring is of the butterflies and flowers. So, even though it is still winter I can bring this scene to life on a card. For this card I used Stampin’ Up! Beauty Abounds and the ‘You’re so Awesome’ sentiment from Flowering Desert. The colors are Shaded Spruce and Pineapple Punch. The card base is in Whisper White cardstock.

I started out with this stamp from Beauty Abounds, and the Shaded Spruce ink.

Apply the ink by tapping on the ink pad, straight up and straight down, until you have ink evenly on the raised part of the stamp. If you have ink on the red rubber around the stamp, or on your block, try tapping more lightly.

Press the stamp straight down on your cardstock and apply moderate but even pressure for about 5 seconds. Take care not to rock the block. Lift the stamp straight up. Following this procedure each time will allow you to get a nice clean image.

Add a few butterflies in Pineapple Punch ink.

Stamp the sentiment from Flowering Cactus in Shaded Spruce onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3/4 inch by 4 inches.

The trick to getting a nice banner edge, is to start by cutting straight in at the middle.

Next, cut from one corner to the middle.

Then from the opposite corner to the middle.

Viola!

Now, adhere the Whisper White with the sentiment onto a strip of Pineapple Punch measuring 1 inch by 4 1/2 inches. Then cut the banner edge as shown.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to apply the sentiment to the card. These are a piece of foam with adhesive on both sides.

I applied the Dimensionals as shown. This will lift the sentiment up from the card a bit and add, well, add dimension to your card.

The Whisper White card base measures 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches and is folded in half. I trimmed the butterfly and flower piece to 2 1/2 x 3 5/8 inches and adhered it to a piece of Pineapple Punch measuring 2 5/8 x 3 3/4 inches. The first layer is Shaded Spruce at 5 1/4 x 4 inches. I added sequins to put some sparkle on the card.

Supplies used are : Cardstock: Whisper White #100730, Shaded Spruce #146981, and Pineapple Punch #146971; Ink: Shaded Spruce #147088 and Pineapple Punch #147141; Stamp sets: Flowering Desert #148700 and Beauty Abounds #148726; Clear Blocks: E #118484 and H #118490; Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins #148561; Paper Snips #103579 and Multipurpose Liquid Glue #110755.
