Check out this fun Embossing Technique below!

Instructions

Using an Embossing Folder to Emboss Cardstock

  1. First emboss the Summer Splash cardstock with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. TIP: Spritz the cardstock so that the paper is slightly damp in order to get the best 3D look after you emboss it. Set aside.

Embossing the Sentiment

  1. Die cut the 2 1/4″ x 4″ (5.7cm x 10cm) Basic White cardstock with the third from the smallest rectangle die in the Everyday Details Dies.
  2. Very Important TIP: Use an anti-static tool on the cardstock prior to using embossing powder. This avoids having the embossing powder stick to anything except your stamped image/sentiment.
  3. After using the anti-static tool, stamp the sentiment and the sun rays with Versamark Ink. Versamark is an ink that is also an adhesive so the embossing powder will stick to it.
  4. Sprinkle the embossing powder over the Versamark. Shake off the excess into a plastic container or onto a coffee filter. TIP:The coffee filter will not have as much static as paper, so the powder can easily be returned to the container.
  5. TIP: After embossing, use a small paintbrush to remove any extra embossing powder before using the Heat Tool.
  6. Turn on the Heat Tool and wait about 10 seconds for it to warm up.
  7. TIP: Hold the Heat Tool about 4-6 inches (10-15cm) away from the cardstock. Heat the back first for about 10 seconds. Then heat from the front, moving the heat around until the embossing powder melts (turns).
  8. TIP: As soon as the embossing powder turns (here’s the magic!) remove the heat from that area. Overheating can cause the image/sentiment to not look as crisp.
  9. TIP: After the entire image/sentiment has turned, allow it to cool. The embossing powder is basically melted plastic and will stick to your skin and burn you if you touch it before it has cooled. (Ask me how I know!)
  10. Use a microfiber cloth to remove any excess powder.

Inside of the Card-Embossing

  1. Now for the Basic White cardstock for the inside of the card. Stamp the “Thank You” sentiment from the Thoughout the Year stamp set in Versamark. Emboss with the Silver Embossing Powder same as above. Heat & cool.
  2. Stamp the butterfly from the Happiest Day stamp set in Versamark Ink onto the right lower corner of the inside card piece. Heat. Cool. Adhere this piece to the inside panel of the Summer Splash cardstock card base.

Embossing Technique- Embossing the Edge of the Paper

  1. Now for a fun Embossing Technique!
  2. Tear the right side of the long edge of the Summer Splash Glimmer Paper and Thoughtful Design Specialty Paper.
  1. Use the Versamark Ink pad to dab Versamark onto the torn edge.
  2. Dip the edge in the Silver Embossing Powder that is in a plastic container or shake a bit out onto just the edge. Shake off the excess powder. Use the Heat Tool the same as above. Cool.
  3. Repeat with the Thoughtful Designs Specialty Paper.

Assembling the Card

  1. Adhere the torn and embossed Thoughtful Designs Specialty Paper to the Summer Splash cardstock embossed with the Fern 3D embossing folder.
  2. Adhere the torn and embossed Summer Splash Glimmer Paper to the left of the Thoughtful Designs Specialty Paper.
  3. Use a Mini Glue Dot to hold one end of the Silver Trim to the back of the card piece. Wrap around three times and secure to the back with another Mini Glue Dot.
  4. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the card piece to the front panel of the Summer Splash cardstock card base.
  5. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the card front.
  6. Embellish the card front with the Metallic Gems as desired.

Voila!

The Seaside Wishes Encouragement Card is designed with the Seaside Wishes stamp set and dies available in my Online Store HERE.

The Ink & Inspiration Challenge this month is both an image and a color challenge. I was really stuck with this one. The colors were more inspiring to me than the image. Several stamp sets were tried and several cards made before I decided on this Seaside Wishes Encouragment Card.

  • Basic White cs: 5/8″ x 4 1/4″ (for sentiment)
  • Calypso Coral cs: 3″ x 5 1/2″ (to stamp & die cut the starfish)
  • Coastal Cabana cs: 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
  • Garden Green cs: 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ (to die cut the seaweed)
  • Old Olive cs: 1″ x 3 1/2″ (to die cut the seaweed)

Supplies

  • Dies: Seaside Wishes
  • Embossing Folder: Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder & So Swirly Embossing Folder
  • Ink: Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral & Coastal Cabana
  • Embellishments: Adhesive-Backed Dappled Dots
  • Wink of Stella
  • Blending Brushes
  • Sponge Dauber

Instructions for the Seaside Wishes Encouragement Card

  1. Use a Blending Brush and the Crumb Cake Ink to blend color onto the front panel of the Thick Basic White cs card base. Apply a darker color to the edges.
  2. Stamp the stones and sand with the Crumb Cake Ink.
  3. Die cut the sand dollars using the Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder with the Seaside Wishes Dies.
  4. Apply a light layer of Crumb Cake Ink to each sand dollar with a Blending Brush. Make some areas a little darker. Set aside.
  5. Stamp the starfish onto the Calypso Coral cs in Calypso Coral Ink. Die cut with the Seaside Wishes Dies. Set aside.
  6. Tear the Coastal Cabana cs along the right-hand side to make an ocean wave. Emboss with the So Swirly Embossing Folder.
  7. Apply Wink of Stella to the torn portion of the Coastal Cabana cs. Adhere to front left of the Basic White cs card base.
  8. Die cut some of the seaweed from the Garden Green and Old Olive cardstock.
  9. Arrange the sand dollars, starfish & seaweed as desired.
  10. Add the Adhesive-Backed Dappled Dots as stones.
  11. Stamp the sentiment in Coastal Cabana Ink onto the 5/8″ strip of Basic White cs. Adhere to the card front.

In the end I really enjoyed designing the Seaside Wishes Encouragement Card because it reminded me of a vacation I took with my family to a beach in Florida. We had such a wonderful time. Good memories! I will have to design a scrapbook page now!

Latte Love & Coffee with Friends for the Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop-June 2024

Hello fellow stampers! I am Theresa McEntee-author of Theresa’s Treasures Paper Crafts. I am hopping along with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop crew today. You can visit super awesome blogs from around the world! The list to follow the hop is at the end of my blog post. Please stop by and see everyone’s projects!

The Ink & Inspiration Challenge is a sketch challenge this month. The image inspired me and I immediately saw the possibility of a Fun Fold. I really love to figure out new ways to make a card!

I absolutely love coffee! There are so many good memories related to relaxing with a cup of delicious coffee. For this Fun Fold card I used two stamp sets- Latte Love & Coffee with Friends. You can find Coffee with Friends in the Stampin’ Up! 2025-26 Annual Catalog. The Latte Love is an Online Exclusive.

Each of these stamp sets has images that can be used for a multitude of handmade cards. I chose the women sitting on the steps with her cup of coffee because it reminded me of myself. I love to contemplate life with a hot cup of rich savory coffee!

There are several great dies to accompany the Latte Love stamp set. I only used the outline of the cup.

The “A Little Latte” Designer Series Paper is so fun with several designs!

Thinking about possibilities for Sketch 105 led to the creation of this unique Fun Fold.

Measurements

  • Pecan Pie cardstock card base: 5 1/2″x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
  • Pecan Pie cardstock: 3″x 4″
  • Calypso Coral cardstock: 2 3/8″ x 3 3/8″, 2 1/4″ x 2 3/4″ (to die cut coffee cup)
  • Basic White cardstock: 2 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ (for the image of the women), 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ (front inside piece), 3 3/4″ x 5″ (back inside piece), 2″ x 2″ (to stamp and die cut coffee)
  • A Little Latte DSP: 5 3/8″ x 8 1/4″ scored at 4 1/8″ (see template below)

DSP Template

The image of the women with the cup of coffee was colored with the Watercolor Pencils.

  • Ink: Memento, Early Espresso, Pecan Pie & Calypso Coral
  • Embellishments: Adhesive-Backed Swirl Dots

  6. Now stamp the ariel view of the coffee cup in Calypso Coral Ink onto the Calypso Coral cardstock. Die cut the coffee cup.

Front inside and Back inside

I am excited to be hopping with such talented demonstrators today. Be sure to check out everyone’s Color Combo projects. When you are ready, you may order from my Online Store HERE to get the supplies needed to make your own cards.

I had been wanting to use the Wildflower Designs Bundle. This proved to be a great set for the Color Combo of Blueberry Bushel, Lemon Lolly and Granny Apple Green.

I also really enjoyed playing with the dies. There were several that cut out shapes I hadn’t expected. i used these shapes to create this elegant card.

Measurements

  • Basic White cardstock card base: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
  • Basic White cardstock: 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside, 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ to emboss, 4″ x 5 1/2″ to die cut the larger hexagon, 2 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ to die cut the smaller hexagon and 1 1/4″ x 2 1/4″ for the sentiment
  • Lemon Lolly cardstock: 4″ x 5 1/2″ to die cut the hexagon
  • Blueberry Bushel cardstock: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ to die cut the scalloped hexagon

Supplies

  • Stamp Set: Wildflower Designs
  • Dies: Wildflower Designs
  • Embossing Folder: Eyelet 3D
  • Ink: Blueberry Bushel Ink Pad and Stampin’ Write Markers in Blueberry Bushel, Lemon Lolly and Granny Apple Green
  • Embellishments: Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • Ribbon: Iridescent 1/2″ Striped Trim

Instructions

  1. Die cut all of the pieces.
  2. Emboss the Basic White cardstock with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
  3. Adhere the Lemon Lolly cardstock hexagon to the embossed Basic White cardstock. Cut a 6 1/2″ piece of the Iridescent Striped Trim. Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere to the back of the embossed cardstock. Adhere the embossed Basic White cs to the front of the Basic White cardstock card base.
  4. Use the Stampin’ Write Markers to apply ink to the flower images on the stamps. Use the side of the brush tip to get an even layer of ink on the stamp. Huff on the stamp to moisten it, then stamp the image on the Basic White cardstock.
  5. Adhere the inside Basic White cardstock card piece to the inside of the Basic White cardstock card base.

  1. Adhere the Blueberry Bushel cardstock scalloped hexagon to the Basic White cardstock hexagon. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere this to the card front.
  2. Also use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the small Basic White cardstock hexagon with the stamped flower image on it to the center of the underlying larger Basic White cardstock hexagon.
  3. Use the Blueberry Bushel Ink Pad and stamp the sentiment onto the Basic White cardstock. Use Paper Snips to fussy cut the sentiment. Apply small pieces of the Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and adhere to the card front.
  4. Embellish with the Rhinestone Basic Jewels as desired. I actually had a bow and another rhinestone on this card. Somehow, between finishing the card and photographing it, the rhinestone and bow fell off. Oh well! Lol!

Around the World On Wednesday Blog Hop-June 2024- The Adventures of Benji with Submarine Life

Hello and welcome! I am Theresa McEntee, creator of Theresa’s Treasures Paper Crafts. Today I have the pleasure of participating in the Blog Hop with Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) organized by Angie McKenzie for the Adventures of Benji!

On the second Wednesday of each month, the AWOW team put together a thematic hop to give you some inspiration for your own crafting. The Adventures of Benji is this month’s theme.

Today’s hop is special because of Benji. Benji is Angie’s little Shih Tzu. He is her stamping and walking buddy. He is so full of personality! He will want Angie to carry him after a short walk, but he loves to run and play soccer! He also loves cheese, eggs, popcorn and anything with butter.

Angie promised Benji she would take him on a trip around the world- so here he goes!

First he is going to travel to the coast of California from where I am in Bisbee Arizona. He is going by submarine up to British Columbia Canada to visit Lori Wilcox. Hense, the inspiration for my card!

My Project for today

Before Benji could board the sub, the scene needed to be created. The Submarine Life Bundle is the perfect choice as there are many sea creatures so that Benji will have some friends to make along the way! This card has Craig the crab and Ollie the Octopus on the front panel.

On the inside panel are Gertrude the Guppy and her five little fishies- Gary, Geraldine, Glenda, George and Gregory. And don’t forget Sandy the Starfish!

Here is the template for this fun fold card. I hope you enjoyed the card and the story that went along with it!

To add a little Bling! I used the new 2024-26 In Color Shimmer Gems in Shaded Summer.

The AWOW Team

I am so glad you have joined me today in this worldwide hug that stretches all the way from Australia to Alaska across twelve different time zones. Each month this group of creative friends prepare a project for a theme. Below is an image of the whole crew and where they are from around the globe. Benji had quite the Adventure! And such a talented and wonderful group of people! You will want to visit everyone to be sure to see all the amazing projects!

We all love sharing joy with you through projects from our individual parts of the world. I hope that you will be filled with lots of inspiration from Benji’s Adventures. I know I sure was!

I turned the sketch around to fit my idea.

My Project for today

This card was made using the Spotlight on Nature Bundle. The stamp set is just beautiful. The dies are a series of layering circles with different borders.

I wanted to showcase the 2024-2026 In Color Designer Series Paper. For this card, each of the five new In Colors were chosen in a different pattern of the Designer Series Paper. The 2024-26 In Colors are: Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, Shy Shamrock, Summer Splash and Petunia Pop.

Around the World On Wednesday Blog Hop-April 2024- This or That? with Grassy Grove

Hello and welcome! I am Theresa McEntee, creator of Theresa’s Treasures Paper Crafts. Today I have the pleasure of participating in the Blog Hop with Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) organized by Angie McKenzie.

On the second Wednesday of each month, the AWOW team put together a thematic hop to give you some inspiration for your own crafting. This or That? is this month’s theme. My project is Sunrise? or Sunset?

My Project for today

I really enjoy using the Blending Brushes and the vibrant Stampin’ Up! Inks to create the sunrise and sunset scenes.

This card was made using the Grove Dies which coordinate with the Grassy Grove stamp set. The exciting news is that these are crrying over to the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog!

I really struggled with coming up wtih a This or That? for this month’s Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. I have always enjoyed playing with the Blending Brushes. I love how you can blend the inks together! Heere are photos of the sunrises and sunsets here in Arizona that I used for inspiration.

Online Exclusive Simply Zinnia for the Ink and Inspiration Sketch 104 Challenge Blog Hop-March 2024

Here is my Online Exclusive Simply Zinnia card for the Sketch 104 Challenge!

Hello fellow stampers! I am Theresa McEntee-author of Theresa’s Treasures Paper Crafts. I am hopping along with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop today. You can visit super awesome blogs from around the world! The list to join the hop is at the end of my blog post. Please stop by and see everyone’s projects!

The Ink & Inspiration Challenge this month is a Sketch Challenge. I was already playing around with the Simply Zinnia stamp set. I had stamped a bunch of the large zinnia and colored them with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. If you haven’t tried alcohol markers yet, don’t wait any longer. The alcohol markers make coloring so fun and rewarding!

Since I already had several zinnia colored, I arranged them to correspond to the Sketch 104 Challenge. I was thrilled to see how nice they all looked together!

I love the Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper and but also wanted to use the Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder. So I decided to emboss the Designer Series Paper. It is very subtle and adds texture to the card.

Measurements

  • Melon Mambo cardstock card base: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at
    4 1/4″
  • Basic White cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (for stamping the zinnia & leaves), 4″ x 5 1/4″ (inside) and 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ (for sentiment)
  • Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper, Petal Pink polka dot design: 4 1/8 ” x 5 3/8″ (to die cut with the largest Deckled Rectangle Die & emboss with the Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder)
  • NOTE: save the edges when you die cut the Deckled Rectangle to use on the inside of the card

Supplies

  • Stamp Set: Simply Zinnia
  • Dies: Simply Zinnia & Deckled Rectangle
  • Embossing Folder: Zinnia 3D
  • Ink: Blackberry Bliss and Memento Ink Pads
  • Stampin’ Blends: Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive & Mossy Meadow
  • Embellishments: Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins

Instructions

  1. Fold the Melon Mambo cardstock card base at the 4 1/4″ scoreline and burnish with the Bone Folder. Set aside.
  2. Die cut the Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper with the largerst Deckled Rectangle Die. Save the edges to use for the inside of the card.
  3. Run the Deckled Rectangle through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Zinnia Embossing Folder. Set aside.
  4. Use Memento Ink to stamp the large zinnia three times and the leaves twice onto the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Basic White cardstock.
  5. TIP: Use the Heat Tool to dry the Memento Ink. Then when you use the Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blend, the black Memento will not bleed into the Lemon Lolly.
  6. Color the images as desired. I usually start by coloring the shadows with a the dark shade. Then I blend it with a medium shade. And finally I blend everything with the lighter color.
  7. Die cut the zinnias and leaves with the Simply Zinnia Dies. Set aside.
  8. Use Blackberry Bliss Ink to stamp the sentiment onto the
1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Basic White cardstock. Stamp in the center as you will use the whole piece.
  9. For the inside, use the scrap from cutting the Deckled Rectangle from the Flowering Zinnia Designer Series paper and adhere it to the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White cardstock as shown below.

Assembling the Card

  1. Adhere the inside card piece to the inside of the Melon Mambo cardstock card base.

  1. Adhere the die cut and embossed Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper to the front of the card base.
  2. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the front of of the card.
  3. Arrange the 3 zinnias on the card front. Adhere the top zinnia flat to the card front. Use 3 thicknesses of Basic White cardstock on the back of the middle zinnia. Then adhere the bottom zinnia with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tip: place Dimensionals in the center of the back of the zinnia so you can place the leaves more easily.
  4. Adhere the leaves.
  5. Use Wink of Stella on the zinnia for extra sparkle.
  6. Embellish with the Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins as desired.

I hope you enjoyed my interpretation of The Sketch 104 Challenge. Be sure to visit each of the blogs below to see more ideas!

Online Exclusive Simply Zinnia Bundle for the Inspirations in Ink March 2024 Blog Hop

I just love this Thank You card made with the Online Exclusives-Simply Zinnia Bundle!

Welcome! Thank you for visiting Theresa’s Treasures Paper Crafts! I am Theresa, a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in Arizona, USA. Today is the monthly Inspirations in Ink Blog Hop! The Simply Zinnia Bundle is one of many Online Exclusives! It is only available in my Online Store. When you are ready, you may order from my Online Store HERE.

I enjoyed using the Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers to color the zinnia-which is one of my favorite flowers.

The Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper (DSP) is so vibrantly colorful! I wanted to be sure to use the DSP on my card! Too many choices!
