Stampin’ Up!® #SimpleStamping Fall Friendship Card

Howdy! Fall is slowly giving way to the Holiday Season. Next week I will begin to show you some Holiday cards. For today I have a lovely fall friendship card made using only stamps, ink and paper. Otherwise known as #SimpleStamping.

I am actually using the Christmas Season stamp set. But I chose fall colors so I could create a nice fall friendship card. The sentiment is part of the Christmas to Remember stamp set. Stay tuned because I will soon be using the same two stamp sets to create a Christmas card.

Measurements

  • Cajun Craze Card Stock (CS) card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches.
  • Very Vanilla CS: two 5 1/4 x 4 inches
  • Note: Ink colors: Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.

Stamping

Start out by stamping the sentiment “Friends Like You Make This Season Special” in Cajun Craze ink onto one of the 5 1/4 x 4 inch Very Vanilla CS. Stamp some leaves in Old Olive ink. Then stamp another style of leaf in Pumpkin Pie ink. I started out with 3 of each color in a triangular orientation.

Add a third style of leaf in Cajun Craze ink. Fill in the spaces as desired using any of the 3 styles of leaves and their coordinating color. On the second 5 1/4 x 4 inch Very Vanilla CS stamp in the same manner just along the right-hand side. This will be the inside of the card so you need to leave space for writing.

Assembly

Adhere the first stamped Very Vanilla CS panel to the front of the Cajun Craze CS card base. Adhere the second panel to the inside of the card base.

Voila! You have a gorgeous #SimpleStamping fall friendship card!

Bling! Alert! I added a few of the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels for some extra sparkle around the sentiment! This is a step up from #SimpleStamping.

Stampin’ Up!® Eden’s Garden #SimpleStamping Friendship Card

Hello! I hope all is going well with you today. We got close to a freeze the other night, but are now back up in the 70’s during the day here in Arizona. I love fall but I don’t like it too cold!

Today I have created a fun #SimpleStamping card for you to try. This card looks more complicated than it is.

I am using Stampin’ Up! product from the Eden’s Garden Collection which is being released today! I will have the item numbers and shopping information at the end of this blog.

Measurements

Basic White Card Stock (CS): card base at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches with a score line at 4 1/4 inches; One 4 1/2 x 3 3/4 inch piece; and one 2 3/4 x 1 inch piece.

Evening Evergreen CS: 5 1/4 x 4 inches, and two 1 x 7/8 inch squares.

Stamping

On the 4 1/2 x 3 3/4 inch Basic White CS, start out with one type of leaf. Stamp with the Evening Evergreen ink. Add a second type of leaf in the same color of ink. (Note: the 4 1/2 inch edge is on the top and bottom; the 3 3/4 inch edge is on either side)

Switch to the Soft Succulent ink and stamp a third type of leaf. Finish stamping this card piece with a fourth type of leaf in the Soft Succulent ink.

Return to the Evening Evergreen ink and stamp the sentiment “Dear Friend How are you?” onto the 2 3/4 x 1 inch Basic White CS. Next stamp the sentiment “My heart is tied to yours…” on the inside panel of the 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch Basic White CS card base. Use the Soft Succulent ink to stamp the leaf sprigs on either side of the sentiment.

How To Assemble the Card

Use your Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer to cut the stamped card piece into 1 1/2 inch strips. (Note: the 4 1/2 inch edge is still on the top and bottom; the 3 3/4 inch edge on either side). Adhere the strips to the 5 1/4 x 4 inch Evening Evergreen CS. Adhere this card piece to the front panel of the Basic White CS card base.

To create the sentiment, adhere the two 1 x 7/8 inch Evening Evergreen CS pieces to the ends of the sentiment strip. (Note: the 7/8 inch edge is on either side).

Voila! You have finished a great friendship card using only stamps, ink and paper! That is what #SimpleStamping is all about!

Dress It Up

If you want to “Dress It Up” a bit, add a few of the Garden Gems. I added three to make the card sparkle!

Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop- July 2020

Hi! Welcome to Theresa’s Treasures. I’m Theresa and I’m an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in Arizona, USA. I’m so excited to be taking part in Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop today. This is a really fun way to share my creations, and have the opportunity to see projects from many other demonstrators from around the world! I especially love to hear your comments!

I had a lot of fun with this card. The images are from A Good Man and Summer Days stamp sets. I used to love to go kite flying when I was growing up. My Dad would make the kites and inevitably the kite string would break and the kite would never be seen again! We would be so sad, but he would just make another and we would try flying it again. This scene brings back those fond memories.

Here is a close up of the images. It really looks like the man with the child on his shoulders is watching the boy flying the kite!

I used the Layering Ovals Dies to cut out an oval except for around the man’s arm. This is a trick you can do by placing the cutting plate only on part of the card then running it through the Big Shot. It will only cut out what is under the plate. I ran it through a second time to get the other side of the arm. The arm was then fussy cut with paper snips.

I used the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol markers to color the scene. The cardstock is Granny Apple Green so I used the Granny Apple Green alcohol marker for the tree and the grass. The jeans are Misty Moonlight. The child’s shirt is Balmy Blue and the gray I used is Smokey Slate. To add some color I used Poppy Parade for the kite, ball cap and girl’s book. The blond hair is a light So Saffron. The girl’s shirt is Highland Heather and the tree trunk is Soft Suede. In every case I used the light shade of the color, then added shadow with the dark shade.

I hoped you enjoyed my card. You can purchase all the supplies needed to make your own card by visiting my online store HERE, or clicking on any of the product photos below.

Cute Kitty

Hello Everyone! So I am at my medical conference waiting for the lectures to start and writing my blog about cards! So fun! Think I am the only doctor here doing that?

The next series of 3 cards will be from Stampin’ Up!’s Nine Lives stamp set which is so cute! We will also be using the Cat Builder punch.

This card is for that special friend who “only comes around once in nine lives”!

Measurements: Whisper White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches folded at 4 1/4 inches, Melon Mambo 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches, Whisper White 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches and 4 x 2 1/2 inches.

We will also be using Melon Mambo ink and Memento ink.

Let’s start with the sentiment “A friend like you comes around once in nine lives” in Memento ink stamped on the upper left hand corner of the 3 1/2 inch Whisper White square.

Using the Memento ink, stamp the outline to the kitty onto the Whisper White 4 x 2 1/4 inch piece on the bottom half.

Next use the Memento ink to ink up the spots. Carefully line up all the outlines and stamp the spots onto the kitty. Isn’t he so adorable?

Insert the stamped cat piece in through the top of the punch and line it up. Squeeze it slightly then push firmly and quickly with your hand to punch the cat out.

Lay the cat onto the piece with the sentiment to be able to position the ball of yarn. This is a Two-step stamp. I tried it both ways and found it easier to stamp the outline first.

I decided to Stamp Off once to lighten the background stamp for the ball of yarn. Use a scrap of paper to stamp on first, then stamp over the outline of the ball of yarn.

I had to try this a few times before I was happy with the result.

We are going to adhere the kitty with the Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut a sliver from one to put on the tail.

Peel off the protective layer and adhere to the sentiment piece.

Adhere the sentiment and kitty to the square of Melon Mambo.

Now adhere the entire piece to the Whisper White card front. I just love it!

You can leave the card this way or if you have some rhinestones or sequins you may add some bling to the card. I wanted to leave it simple. Tip: When it is time to mail a card with rhinestones on the front, cut a piece of Whisper White card stock at 5 1/4 x 4 inches to lay over the top before sliding the card into the envelope. This helps it slide through the mail sorter without damaging your card.

Stampin’ Up!’s biggest sale of the year, Sale-a-bration, is going on until March 31, 2019. The Nine Lives stamp set is from the 2019 Occasions Catalog and the Cat Builder Punch is in the Annual Catalog. For every $50 that you order from either catalog, you may choose a free Sale-a-bration product from the Sale-a-bration Brochure. Select the shop button on top to check it out!

Friends Forever

Do you have any friendships that need some attention? I am very fortunate to have a best friend who I have known for over 30 years now. It is so important to honor a friendship like this by sending a card every once in awhile. So this one is for you Pam!

Measurements: Whisper White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches folded in half at 4 1/4; Blueberry Bushel 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches; Whisper White 4 1/4 x 3 inches and 5 x 2 1/2 inches.

In order to know where to stamp the little paws, I lay the 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 inch piece of Whisper White on the card base front. Then I used a pencil to make an outline.

Placing the paws looks hard at first but if done systematically they will look well spaced. Stamp the paws in Memento ink. Start with the 4 corners. Then stamp on the long side in the center.

Next stamp 2 paws between the corners on the short end.

Finally, stamp one paw in between the paws on the long side. Viola!

Stamp the dog in Memento ink on the end of the 5 x 2 1/2 inch piece of Whisper White. Punch out with the Dog Builder punch. Turn the cardstock around and stamp another dog on the other side. Punch out.

If you would like to add the spots or Dalmatian markings, refer to the Blog from February 4th entitled Doggone Cloudy Day.  You may also add the collar in Real Red.

Lay the two dogs in place and using Memento ink stamp the sentiment “Friends Forever” on the left side.

Now stamp the “Ruff Ruff” in Memento ink and the hearts in Real Red.

Adhere one dog with adhesive directly to the stamped piece. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the second dog.

Adhere the dog panel to the Blueberry Bushel.

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card base.

So please take the time to let your long time friend know how much you value them by sending them a handmade card! Keep a look out Pam, the card is in the mail!

Have a wonderful weekend! Next week will be another series of 3 cards using the stamp set Amazing Life, currently available in the Occasions Catalog.
