Thank you for joining me today for our Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Training Program Monthly Blog Hop! I am so excited to show you a Thank You card made using the Alcohol Technique with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers by Stampin’ Up!®. The markers are available in the 2021-22 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. Be sure to visit all the blogs and see all the different Thank You cards from around the world! I know you will get lots of ideas and creative inspiration!
The theme for the cards today is: Thank You. I am so grateful to have customers who support me. The following set of cards is for my fabulous customers who ordered during the last 3 months.
The Alcohol Technique with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers is so much fun! My sister was visiting and I let her try it. She had a ball! This card is made with Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy. This card is a regular A2 size card. I will not be describing the technique here, I did describe it in detail on my blog from September 6, 2021. The sentiment label comes from the Tasteful Labels Dies.
I will show you a lot of examples of my thank you cards. I used 2 stamp sets for the “Thank You” sentiment. The larger “Thank You” is from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. The small “Thanks” is in the From All Of Us stamp set. These cards are all from the Basic White Notecards and Envelopes #159232. Colors used include: Fresh Freesia with Blackberry Bliss, Misty Moonlight with Night of Navy and Rich Razzleberry alone (I just realized the Rich Razzleberry is retired, sorry).
These are both note cards as well. The one on the left is with Bermuda Bay and Misty Moonlight. The card on the right is with Blackberry Bliss and Rich Razzleberry.
I used the Stitched Triangle Dies to create the notecard on the right. Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy help create the card on the right.
So as you can see, each time you do the Alcohol Technique is turns out to be unique!
Thanks for stopping by Theresa’s Treasures. Look through the list below to see who is next in line for the Blog Hop.
I have an awesome Fun Fold Card for you today! This card is great for showcasing the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper(DSP) which is currently one of the DSP’s on sale for 15% off from October 1 – 31, 2020! It makes a perfect background for the From All Of Us stamp set! This is such a fun card, sure to bring a smile to the Birthday person’s face!
Measurements: Pretty Peacock Card Stock (CS): 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches (card base) and 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches; Whisper White CS: 3 x 5 1/4 inches, 3 1/2 x 4 inches, and 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches; Pear Pizzazz CS: 2 3/4 x 3 1/8 inches, 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches, 7/8 x 5 3/8 inches and two at 1 1/8 x 3 1/8 inches; and the Forever Greenery DSP: 3/4 x 5 1/4 inches and 7/8 x 3 inches.
First I would like to show you how to set up the fun fold Pretty Peacock CS card base. You will need your Stampin’ Up!® Paper Trimmer to be able to make cuts in the middle of the card base. I will be showing you the measurements in the next photo. Here I wanted to show how to place the paper and put the cutting blade to cut in the middle of the paper. Place the left edge of the Pretty Peacock card at the 1 1/4 inch mark with the ruler housing the cutting blade raised. Move the cutting blade to the proper measurement (1 inch), then lower the ruler. Move the blade down to the 5 1/4 inch mark on the ruler with the cutting blade, then lift the ruler.
Here are the measurements for the Pretty Peacock CS card base on Whisper White CS so you can see them better. The solid lines are where you cut.
Turn the Pretty Peacock CS card base and make score lines where the dashed lines are shown here.
To fold the card, first make a mountain at the 4 1/4 inch score line, then a mountain at the 5 1/4 inch score lines. Then you make a mountain at the 1 inch score line and a valley at the 2 inch score line. Use a Bone Folder on all the folds to make them nice and crisp. And that is the card base.
Let’s get stamping!
The group of animals from the From All Of Us stamp set is fairly large. I find it easier to apply an even coat of Memento Black ink if I turn the stamp over and lay it on the table to ink it. Stamp onto the 3 1/2 x 4 inch Whisper White CS.
Stamp the small branch of leaves in the Memento ink onto the upper right corner of the 3 x 5 1/4 inch Whisper White CS.
Stamp the “Happy Happy Birthday” sentiment onto the 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch Whisper White CS in Pretty Peacock ink. Try as I may, I could not get this stamp to work without leaving a halo (green arrow). Fortunately it is easy to fix.
I made sure I was applying the ink with a straight downward and upward motion. Despite that, ink was still getting on the edge of the red rubber. This makes it easy to see where to do some trimming with you Paper Snips.
Now that the excess red rubber has been cut away, I can get a nice clean stamp of the sentiment.
I used the 1 3/4 inch Circle Punch when I made this card not realizing that the punch had retired. I did try the 1 1/2 inch Circle punch and it does still fit the sentiment. The 1 1/2 inch Circle Punch is current.
I colored with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. I used Bronze for the branch, and the Light & Dark Granny Apple Green for the leaves. Adhere the Whisper White CS with the branch on it to the inside of the Pretty Peacock CS card base.
You are going to laugh– I thought the bird was a Flamingo! After I colored it pink I realized it’s an Ostrich! Oh well, it is a Flirty Flamingo colored Ostrich! The beak is actually Light Poppy Parade. The markers are the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. I used the Light & Dark Granny Apple Green for the turtle. The nose for the bear is Ivory and his belly is Light Cinnamon Cider.
The body of the bear is Dark Cinnamon Cider. The cute little monkey was colored in Light & Dark Crumb Cake. I colored the small bird with the Light & Dark Pretty Peacock. The beak is Dark Mango Melody. I love the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers because they are so brightly colorful and easy to blend.
Fussy cut the group of animals.
Adhere the strips of Forever Greenery DSP to the corresponding strips of Pear Pizzazz CS, then adhere them to the Pretty Peacock CS card base as shown. Adhere the 2 3/4 x 3 1/8 inch Pear Pizzazz CS to the center panel.
I used the new Foam Adhesive Sheets cut them into 1/4 inch strips to add dimension to the group of animals where I adhered them to the front panel of the card base. You could also use Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Use the Sprig Punch to punch 2 sprigs from the 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch Pear Pizzazz CS and 2 from the 1 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch Pretty Peacock CS.
Adhere the sentiment circle to the card front by using a 1/4 x 3/4 inch strip of the Foam Adhesive strips (or a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals) and a little adhesive on the monkey. Adhere the sprigs to the back of the sentiment circle.
Yes there is Bling! There just happens to be Butterfly Gems!
I chose the Terracotta Tile colored Butterfly Gems because I wanted them to stand out.
And Viola! You have an awesome 3D Fun Fold Card to wish a “Happy Happy Birthday”!
